I think the reason these elo hell players are inconsistent with their games is because of the lack of exposure to competent opponents that will punish the small things. They're used to getting away with certain things.
I tend to agree that it's hard to get a feel with how you need to play against/with people who are good when you've been playing against people who aren't good and are easy to shit on
What a nice, little comeback story after that bad start. Glad to see someone finally find some measure of success, hope he keeps improving and getting to the rank he deserves. This really is the best series to watch simply because you come to be entertained but end up passively learning a whole lot at the same time.
in his defense the things he was doing that are bad at this rank probably work out for him in gold games. with some work and some coaching he would probably be pretty good
It was great seeing the game play out as it did. He was able to make a small come back and hold his own against higher level players from a position of being behind. He took risks and even though most of them didn't pay off he knows how to improve to increase his odds of those risks paying off in the future. Not the land slide we wanted to see but the actuality and validation we desperately needed.
3:00 GGG (Path of Exile) and Square Enix did this and got bigger playerbases whenever Blizzard screwed up with its own games like WoW. So the tactic of turning your competitors drama into your own gain definitely works. Its a shame Hi-Rez isn't doing that if League of Legends NA pro scene is melting.
Tbh. He played really well because of the god he is playing. Pele is all in or all nothing. Playing gods like that in gold is terrible so I can see why he is there but higher up he played well because he got so much dmg off on people that the rest of his team can just hit one ability and they die
He was a gold 1 player that thinks he's diamond. He's almost plat, so that isn't too much of a jump (at least based on what Weak3n has been saying). He fed early because he didn't know the matchup (understandable), had a good mid game, then just kinda waited for his team to win the game. Weak3n is just being super subjective. This guy isn't gold 1, but he just needs to win a couple of games to get to plat. He can't carry because he doesn't know how to position in team fights. This was however, a good coaching video. Weak3n did a good job of spotting this dude's mistakes and correcting them. The Pele will probably climb in Elo because of it. So it's a nice video, but a disingenuous Elo hell video.
@@sinisterniik Yea, I'm definitely unconvinced that this guy is anywhere approaching Diamond/Masters. A lot of the better stuff that happened late game was either instigated by his team, or a result of the extremely generous comeback mechanics in the game right now.
@@pepelechad536 isn’t that how assassins work late game tho? You need your team to instigate situations that you can either clean up on or put the enemy into worse positions. Assassins can’t just force plays late game because at best you trade. A good assassin is one that uses positioning to be able to capitalize and profit off good opportunities. Such as actives being used, dashes/ults being used etc. The example that comes to mind is Adapting Ao Kuantan diving the Kings once his frontline exhausted their abilities and getting a quad thus leading to the W. However I’m a low tier scrub who hasn’t touched ranked yet. So it might be different at certain MMRanges.
Can't wait to see the grind. Hell yeah. Cut the early deaths. I think right now he tops out at diamond 3 or 4. If he listens to your coaching he could definitely progress further, especially with competent front liners.
Seeing ELO hell makes me remember the early days of Starcraft 2, me being stuck on Gold but almost exclusively playing against high Platinum and Diamond(afaik there was no Masters yet) players. Game: You are Gold rank. Also Game: But you will not play against Gold players because you are too good to play against them and keep winning, go play with Plat and Diamond instead so you lose a few.
I dont pretend to belong in masters as i just hit dimond 2 last season but i have been in plat from season 3 evry year. Now im hardstuck in gold and cant touch plat even. Evrytime i have a win streak i get ragequitters, trolls picks and just bad player as a general. And the season of hope made it impossible to snowball and carry, basicaly making only the last bad/good teamfight count.

When you in a rank you don't belong you can't play the way you're suppose to. Your team and the enemy team play reckless. So you obtain habits that take some time to break. You can't take a player stuck in hell and expect them to act normal in heaven. It's just not fair.
agree to an extent, but its hard to argue that you arent a lower rank player if you are actively contributing to the problem on your team. You can genuinely play up to like diamond rank by just not trolling and making risky plays, and a lot of diamond plus mid laners are proof of this

Ello hell is def a thing but i feel most people are stuck cuz they are mechanically very good and their calls are ok (they dont do stuff when its a bad idea and only do it when its a good idea) but they forget too take calculated risks that can pay of our dont always push when they can or should. as a chall league player muliple for seasons i can say that smite is 100% harder than league the metas and how jg works with every role having their own buff is insane for me and the items and build paths so much to take into consideration not to mention everything is a skillshot in smite but i do hate that the game has a bit of a problem with its performance in conquest the game starts randomly freezing and i have a fairly beast of a machine that should not have any problems with smite .
There's alot of people like me who have thousands of hours in the game and RARELY 0lay ranked however when I play casuals I still shit on people who have masters workers in conq and joust even though I'm technically bronze because I don't play ranked
The only way smite will grow competitively is to scrap the invite only SPL comfort league bc they are paying each team 200k+ and use those funds to host big money tourneys. Thats what we all want. SPL is a giant snooze fest

ELO Hell can't exist as a concept. That you're being kept down below your actual ELO by your teammates is nonsense. If you're 1/10 of the people in the game, and 1/5th of the people on your team, then ELO hell on average would boost you not lower you. It's really quite simple, as long as you're consistent and not a troll then your team only has 4 possible slots for trolls whilst the enemy team has 5 possible slots for trolls. So trolls on average help you gain elo. If someone is playing more than 200 games ranked games each season they're ending up right where they're supposed to be.
I wanna make it clear I'm exactly where I should be on my rank. Gold 3 can't get past it. I have diamonds and plats as friends and I don't at all think like them nor react as fast as them.
I’m in Elo hell can’t get into a game without someone playing a dumb character (Vulcan support) I feel like I could easily be a mid plat. Easily I can’t play every role well weakest jungle. I’d say I’m a support main even tho it isn’t my preference

Theres def an elo hell. Specifically on the lowest ranks bcs most players will never make it past silver, the ones who can have to get out of there by carrying every game until they're plat. People think smite is about kills. But it's about killing that titan. Nothing else.
lots of plats and dias look at the map and watch their jungler and valuate them. if you move around like a headless chicken people give up on the game. guy is jungling and he's initiating into awilix ix chel lvl 2 with wave alive. your mid thinks you're noob. and he will ignore you rest of the game. trying to do tanky worthless midcamps seemingly clueless about the rotation. not there on first blue respawn. it's tough to make people believe in you after fucking up following a baseline expected from you.
Just want to say your suggestion about targetting popular LoL streans to play other MobAs doesnt work. Blizzard tried it with HotS and as soon as the contract was up, despite all the praise the viewers and the streamers were giving it, it didnt lead to any major growth or player retention. The fact is even if this genre has similarities in its games people dont want to learn or invest into a different game than the one they already play usually. Plus you hella dont want LoL players to infest your game

I can honestly say, due to my experience playing League of Legends for years, and playing somewhat of Smite, I'd be Bronze to Silver in both games. I totally suck at using active items. I have a semi-okay map-awarness, and the camera really sucks for me at smite, but I don't trust in those players that believe they can charge in as a non-tank and everyone has to follow up. If I believe I won't win the fight, I won't go in it. Which obviously can lack in losing minions/snowballing. For those who know League: One of my last games in League was as Leona-Support, my DD (a friend of a friend of a friend?) was a ranged one, don't remember which excactly, and the enemies had more range and CC as far as I remember. Yet, my DD thought it was a good idea to charge in and "face-tank" the enemies instead of waiting for me to initiate the fight at the right time. THat guy was then literally flaming me in voice-chat, about how he is a master-Leona player and how he knows that character way better than me etc. I tried to reason with the guy that I don't know his playstyle, since I never played with him, and that Leona is also my main-support char, so it was difficult to understand why he charged in fights when he did. - At some point I literally muted him in VC and stopped talking.
At the time of the recording LCS players had agreed to walkout and not play due to many orgs getting rid of essentially their minor league teams, however since this recording they have agreed to play again starting june 14th.

I think Weaken was excited to see for the first time, a person trying to make plays and not being scared that he has been very soft on this person. He is definetely better than the previous elo hell videos and he did an overall good game considering he was playing against high diamond/master people. But is this really a proof of elo hell? I mean his mid game was very solid, but early was filled with bad decisions and late game it was mostly feeding blinking in front of people. My opinion does not matter much because i am a pro player like Weaken, but i think that he did a solid overall game but he has some things he has to work on to be able to compete at this level and really be very useful in team fights. The video title is very misleading to me, he did a solid game but he did not crush enemy team. Also you said that you consider elo hell when it is more than 2 divisions gap, he is gold 1 very close to low plat so he is basically low plat so saying he should be diamond means he is just 1 division off so according to yourself it is not elo hell. If you're 1/10 of the people in the game, and 1/5th of the people on your team, then ELO hell on average would boost you not lower you.
It's really quite simple, as long as you're consistent and not a troll then your team only has 4 possible slots for trolls whilst the enemy team has 5 possible slots for trolls.
So trolls on average help you gain elo.
If someone is playing more than 200 games ranked games each season they're ending up right where they're supposed to be.
I wanna make it clear I'm exactly where I should be on my rank. Gold 3 can't get past it. I have diamonds and plats as friends and I don't at all think like them nor react as fast as them.

Theres def an elo hell. Specifically on the lowest ranks bcs most players will never make it past silver, the ones who can have to get out of there by carrying every game until they're plat. People think smite is about kills. But it's about killing that titan. Nothing else.
Had carry games where every other player in the lobby put together don't ammount to my structure damage alone and we still loose.

lots of plats and dias look at the map and watch their jungler and valuate them. if you move around like a headless chicken people give up on the game. guy is jungling and he's initiating into awilix ix chel lvl 2 with wave alive. your mid thinks you're noob. and he will ignore you rest of the game. trying to do tanky worthless midcamps seemingly clueless about the rotation. not there on first blue respawn. it's tough to make people believe in you after fucking up following a baseline expected from you.
Just want to say your suggestion about targetting popular LoL streans to play other MobAs doesnt work. Blizzard tried it with HotS and as soon as the contract was up, despite all the praise the viewers and the streamers were giving it, it didnt lead to any major growth or player retention. The fact is even if this genre has similarities in its games people dont want to learn or invest into a different game than the one they already play usually. Plus you hella dont want LoL players to infest your game

abyssal stone on a support against an enemy comp with gods that have high cooldowns that have built CDR can be extremely potent in a team fight. there would have to be at least 3 enemy gods that have high base cooldowns that have built CDR...that would be absolutely the only reason to go abyssal.

I can honestly say, due to my experience playing League of Legends for years, and playing somewhat of Smite, I'd be Bronze to Silver in both games.
I totally suck at using active items. I have a semi-okay map-awarness, and the camera really sucks for me at smite, but I don't trust in those players that believe they can charge in as a non-tank and everyone has to follow up.
If I believe I won't win the fight, I won't go in it. Which obviously can lack in losing minions/snowballing.
For those who know League:
One of my last games in League was as Leona-Support, my DD (a friend of a friend of a friend?) was a ranged one, don't remember which excactly, and the enemies had more range and CC as far as I remember.
Yet, my DD thought it was a good idea to charge in and "face-tank" the enemies instead of waiting for me to initiate the fight at the right time.
THat guy was then literally flaming me in voice-chat, about how he is a master-Leona player and how he knows that character way better than me etc.
I tried to reason with the guy that I don't know his playstyle, since I never played with him, and that Leona is also my main-support char, so it was difficult to understand why he charged in fights when he did. - At some point I literally muted him in VC and stopped talking.

Elo hell is when you're pulled down due to matchmaking, not due to yourswlf inting. This dude literally plays horribly. Bad decision making, bad awareness, bad mechanically (and that's even on a pretty simple God like pele)
And I don't even need to watch the rest of the video to know that, even if he turns it around somehow... the way he played the first 11 mins is enough for most average players to take advantage of that and turn it into a win

He is not in elo hell srry but when i play like this is when im back from the bar or high asf. His team actually carried him cauz he fed the awilix so bad early, lucky his team played safer and smarter because of that. This man is right where he should be.

I think Weaken was excited to see for the first time, a person trying to make plays and not being scared that he has been very soft on this person. He is definetely better than the previous elo hell videos and he did an overall good game considering he was playing against high diamond/master people. But is this really a proof of elo hell? I mean his mid game was very solid, but early was filled with bad decisions and late game it was mostly feeding blinking in front of people. My opinion does not matter much because i am a pro player like Weaken, but i think that he did a solid overall game but he has some things he has to work on to be able to compete at this level and really be very useful in team fights.
The video title is very misleading to me, he did a solid game but he did not crush enemy team. Also you said that you consider elo hell when it is more than 2 divisions gap, he is gold 1 very close to low plat so he is basically low plat so saying he should be diamond means he is just 1 division off so according to yourself it is not elo hell. He will get to diamond eventually, but for master it is not easy.
You're reading too much into it, these videos are made mainly to entertain not be a true analyses of elo hell in smite.
