White was a better defender last year than Smart per the stats and the awards that were given out. They retained him. Brown, Tatum, and Horford were their most reliable defenders. They retained them. Rob CAN be elite but he did not stay healthy enough for them to see anything significant.

@ryablons8969 considering they both struggled for stretches throughout the playoffs, I'm hoping it changes. Tatum had some rough spots vs Philly & Brown was absolutely abysmal in the MIA series. They both need to improve to the point where they can consistently impact the game. They both tend to disappear once their shots aren't falling and that's not an option anymore.

The Cs are very talented but we have sh*t our pants multiple times in the clutch.
