It can be very difficult for elders to bathe and shower due to mobility issues ( arthritis etc) . Getting in and out of a bath tub or standing under a shower can be extremely problematic and , in some instances , dangerous to do without assistance. I wonder how many younger people who are offended by the smell of an elder relative have ever offered to assist them in the washing process... either physically or installing aids( like grab handles, shower seats etc.) to make washing easier. I have done all of the above and was lucky enough to be able to hire an aide to do these things when I was not available. The tragedy of aging is how many young folk distance themselves from the elderly not realizing that, if they are lucky, they’ll live long enough to get the same disdain. Remember: Karma is a bitch only if you are!
Now they need to do the study that says young people & babies smell! This is utter nonsense. 🙄 My 99yr grandma just passed away and she didn’t smell. This is a reflection of personal hygiene & keeping your linens and environment clean and fresh.
How much more the the kidneys and the liver thats NEVER BEEN CLEANED. Imagine not washing the hands for 60 70 years how dirty they would be. Well thats how dirty a humans insides organ can get.
Then what’s the excuse for these musty kids ? I need the University to drop some data on the young people smelling because I am dying slowly in my classroom each day from the smells.
Who doesn't know this? Who never noticed as a child that older people smell different. It's not poor hygene. It's just a different smell altogether. I'm not saying older people smell bad. They smell different. Men and women smell different. Young and old smell different.
Old people need help they don't wash or bathe as they should keep there doors close wear the same clothes iam 80yrs old wash and bathe everyday change my clothes every day there is no smell.
This is another prejudice cultural phenomenon coming from them who hate elders. My grandparents didn’t have bad odors and they were sooooo clean. They were role models for everything good. I’ll tell you who stinks and don’t know it, ppl who consume Curry and raw crunchy type onions non stop!! No disrespect to individuals, just truth. Also, Ppl who devour weed, grown it- whatever they be doing-it’s that biting smell that won’t go away- and ppl who are convinced it’s cool to drink hard brown liquor and kiss stranger naked butts, having them sittin’ on your laps for hours- ya’ll look and smell nasty, too. Of course more could truly go on this list but it’d be too long. I would not trust a study that comes from a culture where they tortured their own citizens at anytime in history. NONE of them!! I have a high sensitivity to odors. I was raised by old people and they never had an oder, or that "old people's smell. nor did their homes. All humans have their own personal scent. Stop believing all these studies. Many of them are not conducive to black people. Do some old people have what could be considered as an old peoples smell-- most definitely, but not all. I always thought old people smell was due to their body slowly decomposing over time. The more distinct the smell, the older the person.
