- Today I'm sharing Sarah Renae Clark's Color Cube no. 399 color palette for a brand new sketchbook. This is a great color mixing project to get you out of your comfort zone and into new color combinations. Join me for the second color mixing palette inside my new sketchbook just for this experimental process. It is a great example of the Art of Practice.

I'm thrilled that you are finding these helpful, thanks for watching me In the Studio!
This is such a gorgeous palette, I love it ☺☺
They are a lot of fun to create around, thanks!
I am learning so much from having stumbled across your site!😊. nothing much is getting done around here while I go through all your videos.😄😄😄
Wow, that is a commitment going through all of my videos. I do have quite a few playlists if there is something you are really interested in. Thank you for enjoying my content and welcome to In the Studio!
I loved your colour mixes, so preety!🥰
Thank you, it was a fun one to create with!
In awe your color matching skills. Learning so much from watching you color match. I would watch your videos if that's all you shared. lol 😆🥰
Thank you so much for your comment and glad it is helping you with color mixing. Hope you are mixing along with me, it is the best way to experiment!
Thanks Kelly!!! I really enjoyed that!!!❤
I'm so happy to hear that, thanks for joining me In the Studio!
I love when you do this! I learn so much! Thank you!
I tried to do more options this time for sharing different combinations so you can see there are always more than one choice when color mixing. Thanks for watching!
Kelly, you read my mind! I was wondering how to use the color cubes. I have some leaves from a croton plant that I'm itching to paint, and the color cubes may help with color choices. Thank you for sharing, again!
Glad it helped you find a solution with color choices. It is a vast, beautiful option for sure!
I just came across your videos and I have to say you are awesome.
Ahhh, thank you so much and welcome to In the Studio!
Hi Kelly. I cannot express how much I appreciate these free offerings. I am newish to watercolour painting (or of creating art of any kind). I love your painting style (the “splash!💕). I especially find your videos and how you film them so clearly and in such detail, with your patient, valuable explanations and encouragement are helpful and authentic. I am learning a lot. I am in the process of rounding out my palette to match your new 18 colour palette. Once I do I will start registering for some of your online classes. I am excited about the Circle of Delight, and the 100 Day Project I did notice today that the 100 Day Project has disappeared from your website. Is this a temporary thing?
Apologies for this long comment but I had a lot of pent up gushing to get out. Sending tons of appreciation and gratitude to you, all the way from France.
Ann, thank you so much for the very kind and generous comments! Ohhh you are going to love that palette, make sure to do a color mixing chart for yourself so you can see all the lovely color possibilities it offers you. Circle of Delight is a game changer because you paint little things daily and it is a beautiful habit to create for yourself and watercolor practice. The 100 Day Project was never a class, it is an Instagram challenge I am participating in. I will be dreaming of France tonight, thank you!
Love!!!!
Thank you so much, really appreciate it!
Small detail, the numbers on the backs of the cards are Hex codes, and are used digitally, mostly in creating websites. Love the colour cubes, and thanks for the video!
Thank you so much for letting me and my audience know that! You learn something new every day.
Just beautiful!
Thank you and hope it inspired you to create!
@@kellyhoernig yes. So much so that I signed up for your class!
@@julimeyers9238 oh, thank you so much, you are going to love Cultivated Color!
Thank you so much for these videos that explain how to mix colors. They are so helpful to me!!
Ahhh, thank you for letting me know how helpful they are to you Cindy, I really appreciate that!
❤❤❤
I appreciate that so much, thank you!
Kelly, how do you remember which colors you used to mix these?
I am using my updated studio palette so I can learn the mixes without looking at my large color mixing chart. You can also write the mixes as you go, which is what I would be doing as a beginner/intermediate. But, I have been mixing colors for over 30 years so I understand the basic principle and the exact mixes aren't as important to me to log them. Hope that helps!
Why do you flick the water over the squares?
Because I like the texture it gives and it also shows the lighter values of the color.
