    Arsenal paying the 100m over 4 years is so normal in football and even generous because usually its spread over the length of the contract of player which is normally 5 years. What West ham want is literally unheard of in football transfers. Not 1 single transfer in the history of football with a fee that large is ever paid over 2 years. Literally every single transfer over like 70m is spread over 4-5 years and the upfront fee is usually larger. People make it out like Arsenal the only club that does installments when literally every club from Real Madrid, Barcelona to Man united do it for all transfers

    It just puts a lot of pressure on Rice defensively, even though that is where he excels.

Sooo in the case of Rice, if he signs a 4 year deal, the £100M should be paid over 4 years. Sooo West Ham asking for payments over 18 months so they can pass FFP concerns, is kinda bonkers and quite a high demand, hence why it is still being discussed.

    Just about the amount of the transfer. When it comes to Arsenal all media seem to report the full fee together with the bonuses which was 105mil. But when they are talking about other players they seem to not count the bonuses. Bellingham i believe went for something like 90+25 while Rice is 100+5. So depending on the bonuses Bellingham could easily surpass Rices price. I am working with reported numbers of course who knows what the real exact numbers are.

    • @2639theboss
      @2639theboss Год назад

      Typically bonuses are included in purchase price or present value depending on the likelihood that they are successfully met. So if West Ham get a 10mil bonus if Rice plays 5 games next season, they'll count it, but it that same bonus is dependent on scoring say 8 goals, it'll be treated differently.

    Spreading the money may be common over a certain amount of years, but Westham want the money up front to replace rice without racking up a debt. They want to invest into the squad to build on the success.

      Just ask you a question, Martin Odegaard lifts any trophy you like does all the celebration, kissing the badge, taking photo's with the fans, on the parade stands and say's West Ham club and supporters are the best in the world and how much he loves being part of this, then 3 weeks later he pisses off to Man City and say's it's the only place he want's to go and had agreed terms sometime ago, would you be happy, we all knew some day he would leave so why come out with all that crap when you already know your gone.
