1999 Infiniti I30 Short Ram Air Kit

Just recently put a $38 short ram air kit on from eBay to replace the old restrictive intake. It made a noticable difference in throttle response and just plain runs better everywhere. It took about 2 - 2-1/2 hours from start to finish. I gave it a couple short revs from the back and from under the hood. Then went for a short drive, did one pull and it feels like it picked up about 15-20hp compared to the factory intake

I got it from eBay for around $40 and requested a red filter with the black coupler kit

Is the car significantly faster now?

I don't have any physical proof that it is faster since I didn't test it at a track or anything that was timed but I definitely feel more torque in the seat of my pants through the low end and mid range of the power band

What you do with the air temperature sensor

I put it in the new aluminum pipe that came with the kit. I did re-use the grommet that held it in the factory location so i didn't have any air leaks. It still works fine a year later

Just the intake upgrade is all. It's a California emissions car with all the catalytic converters in place

Yep. It all works just fine. I've put over 10,000 miles on the car since changing it. Make sure to use the IAT grommet from the factory intake system so its not pulling in unmetered air around the sensor
