Can you do peaky blinder body launage
I could tell he actually was crying. Snot was coming out of his nose.
“He’d always been such a happy little boy..”
Was she referring to his laughing disorder? If so, that just made this scene 5x darker.
i think when they said he had "severe trauma to his head" when they found him meant that the trauma to his head is what caused the disorder
Yes because whenever he was sad he would just laugh.
I think this was more of a she problem. Like whenever she saw him get beaten up and stuff, she masked it with "He is such a happy little boy" and always told that to Arthur as well. And him getting abused and the head trauma and everything caused him to be "Happy" all the time, therefore the laughter
@@vraelvael6900 It kinda shows she is responsible for childhood ruined.
@@Brandonhayhew everything shows it
Another great thing I'd that when he runs, his knees go really high because hes used to running for people in giant clown shoes
Good eye!
That rly makes sense. I always found it somewhat odd the way hes running in the scene but could never tell why.
Damn
Oh so that's why I kind of find his way of running pretty weird
Fun fact Arthur running is a sign of him trying to get away from the area quickly
I’m 12 and this is deep
This is very informative, thank you for this
L
no shit
@@Rendemnis That’s the joke
4:03-4:11 Arthur runs like that because he’s so used to running with clown shoes, that the muscle memory has kicked in
I like this joker. It makes you sympathetic for Arthur.
That's why the mainstream press hated this film. But do you think this "Joker" is the same character in, "The Dark Knight?" There are two things "Joker" does during the Murray interview in this film that allude to them being the same character.
It’s a mirror to society as to why such extreme violence exists. Critics and the media hate it, why? You can never fix a problem if you’re too afraid to acknowledge why it exists.
"Arthur" and the joker are not the same. The joker has no name. In Batman (1989) it was Jack
@@caseythecrowe Arthur is definitely not the Jack Nicholson version of the Joker, but I think it might be Ledgers.
@@andyappleton3353 until you realize dark knight joker killed Wayne parents outside an opera house, not a movie theater. Wait that was Chill. And the small fact that Joker would be well-known, world-infamous for causing a literal massacre and killing a TV host on live television. In dark knight, it’s like “where is this guy from?”
They would know. It’s Batman
Come on
Not gonna lie, this moment hurt.
I think I saw you somewhere. A thing called parachute or something.
@@SpencerFoust ? I'm drawing a blank. Mind filling me in?
@@seankrkovich2869 They used to be Arthur from the joker movie. And there’s a streamer named gypsy crusader, who dresses up as the joker and goes on Omegle to be racist. Hilarious guy honestly. He uploads him harassing people based on color, sex, appearance, on to bitchute. And he’s known for being on bitchute. So “I think I saw you somewhere called parachute? Or something” is a reference to gypsy crusader.
I can't imagine the pain that caused...or at least I don't want to. Finding out the woman you trusted your entire life allowed you to be tortured, wow, Arthur must've went insane right then and there, and on top of that, he was adopted and never knew. I think this was the moment that pushed him over the edge, this was the point of no return.
I would like to suggest the scene when he confronts Thomas or little Bruce Wayne.
Good idea
@@enigmabodylanguage thanks!
@@enigmabodylanguage u think u could do the joker interrogation scene from the dark knight
@@familyfirstnation4605 he already did
@@void4588 bet
When Arthur breathes, it's because his body requires more oxygen, this is caused by his need to survive.
When you translate his laughter as crying but not being able to cry anymore. Being through so many types of bad and weird emotions, he couldn't cry anymore, but bursted out in pathological laughter at moments you're actually supposed to cry. It's insane acting.
My favorite scene in the entire movie was him telling the social worker, that she's never actually listening to him.
The "all I have are negative thoughts" really hit home, since I struggled with depression for years.
I love it when you do the joker

Man you deserve a lot of subs. You're way of analyzing body language especially for amazing movie/show characters is hella detailed. Props to you man ✊
It'd be really cool to see you compare and contrast both times Arthur had sessions with his therapist.
Great work by the way!
Imagine hearing that Arthur leans in because his interested, and all of the sudden you notice that you are leaning in because you are also interested. Amazing video. Keep it up man.
That bit broke my heart
Same :(
It really cut to the bone. The utter helplessness he expressed in this scene was almost too real. I've seen people break down like that in real life. I'm a 30 year old guy but seing that brought tears to my eyes.
It is painful to see for every age there is. I cant imagine it, it hurts to describe
Here’s a suggestion: the Business Card scene from American Psycho.
I second this idea
I third this idea
I fourth this idea
i fifth this idea
Could you do the scene when he kills his mom?
Sure
This is a good one. Imo though, to do that scene, I think it would be better to explain the character progression between him and his mother that led him to kill, first, then explain the murder scene. Just a little suggestion to add onto grindox's. It's just crazy when you think about how he loved and took care of penny only to have eventually killed her, and I just think that sorta thing deserves some background. But either way, I'll watch. These are interesting videos.
@@-dfh-866 I want to know as well. Of course he was angry when he found out she let him getting abused in his childhood, but is this the only reason?
Such a nice channel
Thanks!
Love the videos, definitely keep looking at darker movies
Absolutely!
@@enigmabodylanguage could you look into doing Jake Gyllenhaal's incredible performance in Nightcrawler? Thanks!
I'm glad you made this video. This scene is the most important scene to me in the movie. Where the psychology is so deep. The flashback to his mother is crucial. She denies the "adoption" thing but does not deny that the child was tied to a radiator and beaten on the head. (caused brain damage?) Also she says, "I never heard him cry" yet we all know he laughs when others think he shouldn't be laughing. His laughing almost sounds like crying if you close your eyes. "Happy Boy" --- perhaps the mother could not distinguish the difference between laughter and crying and therefore that is why Joker laughs "inappropriately"....
Sometimes this guy reveals hidden signs and cool stuff like that. It's mostly just, let's watch these Iconic scenes together while I tell you how amazing these people are at acting.
I’d personally like you to do the Joker Stairs scene, it seems to have a lot of emotions in it...
I love to see your analysis of the Sherlock, Moriarty scenes in A Game of Shadows.
I just wanna say that you are really underrated, you deserved 100k+ subs man.
he got 200k+ now :)
This scene still makes me bawl like a baby 🥺
Quick, straight to the point and enough description to get the point to the viewer. New sub 👏👏
Thank you ☺️
i have to agree that this was perhaps the saddest scene in the movie. great video as always and keep them coming. :D
It was definitely a sad scene. The music really amplifies the feelings too. However, the scene i found most sad was when its revealed that Arthur was actually alone all the times he was supposed to be with the girlfriend.
why doesn't this have more views and subscribers, your channel is criminally underrated
Thank you so much 😁
the visual they give of a malnurished baby chained to a old AC unit but, because of head trama he was laughing instead of crying...
This channel should be named “The Joker Analyst”😁
Do more from joker please
Sure
Pls don't stop making RUclips videos, they're really great...
I never watched someone making a react of body language, but you do it and it is good, thanks for this content
Something that I that was interesting is that Arthur often will copy things that people say/do. He does it to appear more normal. Act how he believes he should act around other people. It's subtle, but he does it often in the movie.
Like this scene here, he says "brother" to the clerk. When he never called anyone that previously, only after the man says it first to Arthur does he repeat it back later in the conversation.
Phoenix absolutely nailed this role. I don't think anyone else could of done it better.!!!!
Even a psychiatrist would not be able to tell if he is lying! Amazing acting!
notice how arthur talks, this is to exchange verbal communication to another person
You should react to Joker burning money scene in dark knight and Joker in the Snyder Cut
Could you do ones for characters other than the Joker? Loving these vids but would be nice to have some variety in tv/film characters.
you just show how good people are at acting, sweet
Absolutely!
I think that you should play some sort of game - like the TellTale Games, and use your experience to infer if people are being honest or hiding things. I think it'd be a lot of fun to see something like that.
Might be a bit difficult with telltale since the stylized art style could skew the emotions being shown. But games like Until Dawn or the like that have very realistic graphics would be great.
@@Lolpy. That's true, but they also make the gestures and movements a bit more pronounced and obvious. I'd love to see him play a game blind and use his experience as a means to figure out if he's making good decisions.
This is such a great move. Kinda hard to watch, but still a masterpiece.
This was absolutely fantastic. I really enjoyed the in-depth analysis, amazing video.
wow didnt know this much about body language and what he meant by his body language good video man
The acting in this scene was so good I had to pause the movie to deal with a panic attack 🙃
I had no clue what to expect when I heard this movie was being made. I thought the Joker role was finished with Heath Ledger's performance. Joaquin Phoenix somehow elevated Joker to a place I didn't' think was possible. This is something beyond acting.
I can't wait for the negan part 2 episode.
When is it coming out?
Within the week I think. Got lots of requests.
These are great man, I'm on a binge now. Also, I've always been fascinated by Sir Ben Kingsly's performance in Sexy Beast. There's some great scenes to look over
Never realized how much info you can pull off someone's subconscious actions
As you can see, Arthur grips the medical records and wrestles the clerk for it. This is a microexpression which shows that Arthur really wants it despite it being against the law
As a kid you identify with the hero (Batman). As an adult you understand the villian (Joker).
I'm binge watching these videos and after each one I say just one more, it's 2 am
When Arthur laughs, he's actually crying. When you think Arthur is happy, he is actually sad.
man i remember when i first watched that scene it gave me goose pumps they really made perfect that you would imagine everything happening and how dark it is actually
I have just stumbled upon your channel. Just wanna say, you’re amazing and I’m probably gonna binge watch a lot of your vids now, love your work!
Not sure weather this is just a me tging but i would like if there where subtitles in the video because it is kinda hard to hear the film audio.
Can you do the movie reign over me when Adam Sandlers character talks to Don Cheadle about his family and the scene where he tells his wife's parents how sad he is and and how hard it is for him. That'd be a great one
These are always interesting to watch.
Hold on... "Narcissistic Personality Disorder"? How the hell did I miss that the first time? I was obsessed with that condition for over a year.
As watching you analyzing his behavior, I noticed Arthur asking the clerk if everyone in the mental hospital was a criminal and telling him he thought he would feel trouble after killing people but he didn't. Perhaps he realized he wasn't normal after killing three men in the subway and thought if he wasn't normal from the get-go, all his struggle to live a normal life was nothing but a comedy.
And you can see him telling all his worries(pretending to be happy is hard, funding was cut and he cannot get psychiatric help) that he couldn't tell anybody to the clerk.
I love how this movie is something that the batman comics where inspired from
I think a great video would be analysing the body language in the first scene of Inglorious Basterds between Hans Landa and the farmer
He did
That "Unknown (Child was abandoned)" was such a crushing scene.
that's amazing

I love your videos dude
Thank you :D
The only thing I'm not getting here is if Penny had a history of bad mental health ... why was she allowed to adopt Arthur in the first place??? Don't they generally run background checks on stuff like that??
Well the movie is set in 1981 Arthur is a grown adult at this point so maybe things worked differently back but Gotham did seem like a shithole and the system wasn't very good in the movie so that might had something to do with it
Great as always enigma, keep up the good work. Perhaps you could do analysis for some scenes in interstellar since I like its emotional depth.
Great video as always!
Im curious about the scissors scene
And the ending
And as you can see here, blood begins to gush out from Randall's neck due to the excessive amount of force Arthur used to plunge the scissors into his flesh.
Joker was metaphored (only a few will get that refference)
Leon the professional is a favorite movie of mine. Ever considered doing a scene from that?
Can you make a body language video about Jerome Valeska‘s meltdown ?
Isn't the dude in 0:58 the same actor in Godzilla vs Kong who does Podcast?
Yup
The eye shift at the “some people are crazy” part seems in my opinion to be more of a way to show that he acknowledged what the man said. It made sense why his mother was there after the man said that and all the years of wondering why she was there was suddenly answered just in the snap of a finger. Another reason I don’t think it’s a distancing behavior is because when it’s said he doesn’t move away from the counter or move away from the guy when he said it. Like I said it’s just my opinion but it seems like it was more of a way of him retaining the information given to him.
Been enjoying these analysis.
Love these vids brother
Can you do an analysis of _Inglourious Basterds_
1- restaurant scene with Colonel Landa interviews Shoshana (whether he recognize her or not)
2- the bar scene (Major Hellstrom before/ after confirming that Lt Hicox was a spy)
3- the farm scene (Colonel Landa interviewing Farmer LaPadite about Jews in the area)?
Arthur aggressively grabbing those papers is an obvious indication he is attempting to steal them.
i just noticed that the guy the look at the documents with the joker is the guy from godzilla vs kong
Sorry to hear that your videos are getting demonetized
can you do more of these if possible? they are so entertaining and i love them
Peaky Blinders and Billions
Sure
Mind if I recommend at some point you did a scene from walk the line great movie with great acting
Really cool how people can tell people's emotions based on how they move
“As you can see, Arthur is inhaling air to breathe so that he may remain breathing and thus be alive”
The sh** that people put children through , he probably would have been okay if his mother did not steal him away, sad.
Im binge watching ur vids and luckily an new one
This actor deserves an Oscar and this movie too
@Fresh N ,Nice he deserved it
The 2 best Joker's have achieved what they deserved. Their acting is absolutely amazing
Being patient for Negan pt 2
The movie does remain a little ambiguous about whether he was adopted or whether this version of Wayne used his power to manipulate the system.
There was also a clue to reality versus unreliable narrator in the color scheme. I think that orange is reality and blue is not and since these scenes are mostly orange they would probably be reality.
I thought that wayne got her pregnant and abandoned her
@@camrunner6633 yes I think there is just enough ambiguity to where people could decide either way. But the scene color is a clue to reality versus Arthur's delusions in this movie so I would need to review that aspect.
But my takeaway was that he might have gotten her pregnant and she might have been delusional.
Anyone else have 8 psych diagnoses and watching these to understand emotions?
Remember me when you reach 1million subs. Ill be here
Great video, I love the recent Joker ones. Can I ask how you learned to read body language? I'd assume books or classes but I wouldn't know which ones to look into :/
