    Thanks To Black Crows for sending these skis so I could review them, was very happy to be on these during the Storm! Cheers.

    The Black Crows formula (to me) is… LESS IS MORE!
    Imagine if you were Val d’Isère or Courchevel on a powder descending hundreds of vertical meters with the Atris?
    I also think this ski screams “JAPOW” (Japanese Powder) because it wants those pow runs through the trees in Nozawa Onsen or Niseko.
    I get the feeling from you the “Atris” does a decent job on the groomed slope as well.
    What ski are you going to add to your quiver? I guess your “SEASON ENDING” special will reveal all the information.
    CONGRATULATIONS ON 3K 😊⛷️

    I own this exact ski and have taken it out the majority of my days out west this season. Can definitely agree that this ski wants to charge and send on all terrain, but I see that as a good thing personally, as it still maintains a certain, lovable playfulness no matter how I ski it. For me, it's no shocker that this is a very popular ski amongst the Black Crows catalogue.

      Totally agree, and I see it as a positive as well! It really forced me to improve my stance.

    My favorite ski!!! I love these things, fun fast and agile. I take them everywhere (east and west). Soft where I want them, stiff where I want them. I feel like a better skier on them.

    Good stuff here, man! It’s almost tempting to get a pair of Mirus Cor and a pair of Atris. Feels like that would cover 99+% of days!

    • @RicketySkiReviews
      @RicketySkiReviews  2 месяца назад

      Totally, they also have the "Octo" coming in 2025 and I think combining those or the Mirus with the Atris would be a great 2 ski quiver.

    Good review. I think the shaping of Black Crows also helps with the on snow performance. A skier used these about 3 weeks ago in western NY on hard-packed snow. He said they were fun.

    It almost sounds like this ski was designed for skiing the French Alps -- charging down above treeline, wide open pistes and bowls, taking big lines down big mtns... good review as usual...

      reading this is pretty funny from a french alpine point of view.
      here the atris is viewed as a playful tree option. pretty far from a wide open bowl ski

    I used the Atris for my POW ski, 3 seasons in Utah. I liked them but never really loved them. Bought the Solomon QST Blank, can't believe how much better they are in every aspect. I love the QST.

      Interesting to read your comment. I own the Blank and absolutely love it, but lately have been considering adding the Atris to the quiver. Fellow Utah skier. I think your comment might just save me some money! 🙂

    I have a pair of 2019 108mm Atris, skied for 5 seasons. I love love loved them from the very first turn. But they are a quiver ski. Not fun on ice, but on anything fresh or slushy and they are brilliant.

    Hey Elliot - Discovered your channel today. Awesome stuff. I demoed the CAPTIS at Copper last week and loved them. Two questions. I currently ski the Rustler 9 and love them. But want to switch since I felt I could ski the moguls better. Question 1. I found a pair of 2021s for a great price. Any idea how different from the current model?
    More importantly, I ski 180 cm Rustlers. I am 178 cm tall. But I am thinking of getting the 171 cm to help me ski the moguls better. Thoughts ? Or should I stick with the model closer to 180 cm? Thanks!!

    Have you done a video about binding mount? You mentioned it in the video and I'm curious what you have to say about the position of the binding on the ski, and the recommended line. Thx! I've really enjoyed your reviews BTW

    I bought a pair of Captis which seems to have similar construction to the Atris? It struck me that some of the comments you made are similar to the experience I've had after owning them for a week. They seem to be growing on me as I learn to use them. Have you tried the Captis?

    • @RicketySkiReviews
      @RicketySkiReviews  2 месяца назад

      It's very good, but honestly I think if you wanted some snappier carving skis, you could pair these with a Black Crows Octo or QST 92 to make for a really great 2 ski quiver.

    I rode this in Japan with heavy powder and hard groomers. I found this clumsy in the deep and chattery and clunky on the hard. Exact opposite of how I like to ski. Trying the Mirus this week.

  • @fadet0green
    @fadet0green 4 месяца назад

    Hey mate, thanks for the review! How does this ski compare to Draco Freebird you've tested earlier this season? Would you agree that Draco inherits Atris' character?

    •  3 месяца назад

      Based on some time on Draco and 108mm Atris as my quiver, can confirm Draco is a lot like Atris on steroids. Skis very similar but doesn’t get twitchy 70km/h+

    • @RicketySkiReviews
      @RicketySkiReviews  2 месяца назад

      Yeah fairly similar in feeling, but the draco feels much lighter, the Atris is a bit more sendy and carries momentum through powder more than the draco free bird, but the Freebirds are much lighter and more pliable on the groomed runs.

    I demoed it yesterday. It was bulky to me. If you’re looking for a ski for quick turns in deep bumps and trees. This is not for you.

  • @carterfan80
    @carterfan80 4 месяца назад +2

    I spent a full day on it at powder mountain. Definitely was fun when there was Powder. Unfortunately the trails hadn't received much snow in about a week. Conditions were fairly firm. The ski did not do well on the firm trails in my opinion. I do realize it's not meant for that. I also think I needed to go on size up.
    However it seemed pretty one dimensional to me. I really wouldn't even consider this ski on the east coast. I agree with you not much energy. Not great for short turns. All the things I like in a ski. Not really a great fit for me.

    • @RicketySkiReviews
      @RicketySkiReviews  2 месяца назад +1

      Totally agree, that's why I tend to think of this as a really good 2nd ski to pair with like a Mirus Cor, Octo, or even like a qst 92, maverick 88 etc.

    • @carterfan80
      @carterfan80 2 месяца назад

    I don't know if this is true or not but an Elan rep told me that Elan builds all Black Crows skis for them in one of their factories.

    •  3 месяца назад

      Some are done in Slovenia, some in Austria I believe. Amer + Elan factories make many different ski brands.

    What bindings did you use with these?

    • @RicketySkiReviews
      @RicketySkiReviews  2 месяца назад +1

      I don't remember off the top of my head, but the bindings at a glance look like Marker Griffons? Griffon's or Tyrolia Attack tend to be the standard fare for demo bindings, and typically BC sends stuff with Marker Bindings in my experience.
