Hey there, I'm new to diesel quick question? What brand of diesel additive would you recommend? If I go ahead amd reduce weight to my truck. Does the tuner that comes with kit have to stay connected to the obdIi plug?
Great question! I use this Lucas Oil Fuel Treatment and have been happy. There is a noticeable fuel mileage increase. The tuner does not have to stay plugged in after you install the tune but you can run the bluetooth app and display all of the temperatures/pressures on your phone if it is plugged in. Here is the fuel treatment link amzn.to/3zxdZbe
I've had a good experience using Stanadyne - I see a gain of 1mpg, not much but anything helps. I also make sure I run Top Tier diesel, as recommended by the manufacturer.
That’s correct. It turns off the EGR, the regen system functions, and the sensors. Along with a cleaned up ECM & TCM programming for more power and better shifting
I don’t want to get anyone into trouble so best bet is search “powerstroke delete pipe” and you’ll see options between $200-$400 depending on the material. I’ve always used stainless steel pipes but you can save a few bucks with the others. As for tuner, you’ll search Auto Agent EZ Lynk for Powerstroke and likely have to email the company selling to speak about the support package with tunes for no emissions. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching!
Putting the tune back to stock takes about the same amount of time as you saw for me to load the 100HP tune. The EZLynk stores the stock tune so you can switch back easily
Are these Smokey tunes? I have a 2014 ranch truck with AMDP and it’s pretty bad. Lots of smoke taking off and pulling heavy loads it lets out a lot going up hills
I don’t want to put that out because the companies could get in trouble but you can find the pipe with a quick google search and send some diesel parts retailers an email to see who will sell the tuner. Especially Canadian shops
I’m getting ready to delete my 2012 6.7 F-350 how do I know which tune to buy what makes one better than the other and what about the egr I didn’t see it deleted in the video
A quick online search and you’ll find the reputable tuners. Most are pretty good, a couple are really good. As for the EGR, I forgot to say it in the video but the tune turns it off so you don’t have to mess with block off plates anymore
You will have to do some searching online. The pipe is easier to source. You'll need to reach out via email to companies for the tuner/tunes. Not impossible tho. Very worth while upgrade
Unless I had my own army and air force, I would save all that old stuff, and seal the wiring on the vehicle with plastic bags to keep water & dirt from getting inside them. You never know what the future might bring.
The dummy ends I was referring to in the video are a clean & easy way to keep them clean for future use. I just didn’t have them at the time of filming. Thanks for watching
I can't share where I got the parts, those companies don't want to be advertised. However, a quick online search will give you "farm exhaust" options and you could email some retailers to see if they have any tuners. Good luck with your search, it's so worth it!
No. The custom transmission tune added is specifically made for the engine tune it is paired with. You will find that your transmission will actually drive noticeably better than stock
@@Hang10boards These trucks run hot and will touch the 230's for trans temp when towing (uphill only, flat is maybe 10* hotter than normal), so I back it down to the 0HP or 75HP tune when towing to avoid issues. Great video. Thank you for sharing. Can I still delete my 2019 F350 DW 4x4 farm truck without removing the EGR and capping it off? I will run an Ezlink tune, and I would also like to know if I could use the Ezlink tune from my 2013 and put it on the 2019. The 2013 may not run if I take it out, but it does have the 5-stage turn switch.
Thanks man. The tune will turn off the EGR so you don't have to worry about block off plates or unplugging anything like we used to have to do. As for the tuner, you can use your EZLynk for both trucks, you will just need to buy a new support package license with tunes for the 2019. Contact the company you used for the 2013 and they should be able to get you set up. I appreciate you watching!
@@tonysprojectgarage Thank you again from up in Fort Worth.
Here is the fuel treatment link

@@tonysprojectgarage wow you are great, thanks for the response.
I've had a good experience using Stanadyne - I see a gain of 1mpg, not much but anything helps. I also make sure I run Top Tier diesel, as recommended by the manufacturer.
Playing with fire. Good luck bud.
This actually is a farm/ranch pickup. Video is for educational purposes only
Why do you say he is playing with fire?

Great video! Was that 4” pipe? Sounds great!
Thank you! It sounds even better in person. This is the 4” race pipe
Great video. Thanks!
Hope the video helped. I appreciate you watching!
Did you have to uprgarde the cold charge pipe.. Keep hearing they will not last after rhe delete
Never had an issue
@@tonysprojectgarage Have you heard of them busting ?
I’ve seen some tear online but maybe since I never go WOT it’s never been an issue in one I’ve owned or driven
Do I have to unplug anything under the hood
No, you don’t. The tune turns off the EGR so you don’t have to mess with it
Thats a nice farm truck...
Just about to hit 190k miles. This one works hard but gets taken care of
so do you only need the ez link to get the tune for "weight reduction"?
That’s correct. It turns off the EGR, the regen system functions, and the sensors. Along with a cleaned up ECM & TCM programming for more power and better shifting
@@tonysprojectgarage what year was that truck?
2018
This is a 20-21 model? Need my 22 done but need a 21 ecm
This is an '18 so thankfully I didn't have to send off the ecm, that's annoying with the newer pickups
Can you post a link to parts or model numbers of what you ordered for your Farm Truck?
I don’t want to get anyone into trouble so best bet is search “powerstroke delete pipe” and you’ll see options between $200-$400 depending on the material. I’ve always used stainless steel pipes but you can save a few bucks with the others.
As for tuner, you’ll search Auto Agent EZ Lynk for Powerstroke and likely have to email the company selling to speak about the support package with tunes for no emissions.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks Tony
I think with forscan you can calibrate for 37"tires
I’ve heard conflicting arguments but it’s worth me getting Forscan to mess with tire size and other settings for videos
Great video! My 7.3 was tuned but havn't done anything to my 2015 6.7. how hard is it to put the tune back to stock?
thanks,
~jw
Putting the tune back to stock takes about the same amount of time as you saw for me to load the 100HP tune. The EZLynk stores the stock tune so you can switch back easily
Don’t be surprised if the epa shows up.
Are these Smokey tunes? I have a 2014 ranch truck with AMDP and it’s pretty bad. Lots of smoke taking off and pulling heavy loads it lets out a lot going up hills
Almost zero smoke with these tunes
You’re awesome 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂thank you sir the best 😅
Where did you find the parts
With the new decision from the supreme cour they said the epa cannot enforce rules that were not legislated into law
That is promising!
Who makes the kit that you installed? What company I want to purchase it?
You will have to do some searching online. The pipe is easier to source. You'll need to reach out via email to companies for the tuner/tunes. Not impossible tho. Very worth while upgrade
Unless I had my own army and air force, I would save all that old stuff, and seal the wiring on the vehicle with plastic bags to keep water & dirt from getting inside them. You never know what the future might bring.
The dummy ends I was referring to in the video are a clean & easy way to keep them clean for future use. I just didn’t have them at the time of filming. Thanks for watching
What brand is that?
Can you add the link where the kit came from.
I can't share where I got the parts, those companies don't want to be advertised. However, a quick online search will give you "farm exhaust" options and you could email some retailers to see if they have any tuners. Good luck with your search, it's so worth it!
I need my 2019 ranch truck done, let me go visit you, where you at?
I can’t do that but this video should make it a simple swap for ya!
where did you get the equipment from?
Can’t say but a google search will get you in touch with companies that sell. Email them
So do I need to delete egr
I completely forgot to bring this up in the video, but the tune turns it off. No block-off plates or unplugging of wires is necesary.
Would this mess up transmission
No. The custom transmission tune added is specifically made for the engine tune it is paired with. You will find that your transmission will actually drive noticeably better than stock
@@tonysprojectgarage have you noticed any temp changes towing?
@@Hang10boards These trucks run hot and will touch the 230's for trans temp when towing (uphill only, flat is maybe 10* hotter than normal), so I back it down to the 0HP or 75HP tune when towing to avoid issues. I did a video of the PPE pan that I installed on our F350 dually. Worth the upgrade if you tow often! Check out that video on the channel
Do a delete you do not gain hardly any mileage other than you don’t have the upkeep or the maintaining the the smog device trust me I did it. I loved it, but I didn’t gain mileage.
That’s odd. Last 3 have all picked up significant mpg. Either way, even with no mpg gain, this is so much better for the engine. Thanks for watching!
@@tonysprojectgarage I totally agree, but I didn’t gain any mileage
You possibly did not have a good quality tune
@@cgc86crock had ezlynk but I had a tune where we didn’t have any smoke because we live in California
This is great but you can’t go to California Texas Oklahoma Missouri or 30 other states the fines are astronomical experience
Be the change you want to see in the world
Always tune first then remove parts
I swear it’s like night and day with a truck that’s tuned right a 6.7 power stroke will throw you back in the seat
The difference is unreal!
The tune is the “delete”
For the EGR, yes. But you still need to swap the pipe for everything to work properly
I would say yes delete it but mph maybe 1/3 more max
That seems to be the increase for mixed city & highway driving. Definitely worth it!
Government diesel Super Dutys have no emissions equipment. No DEF no EGR. You can " save " the environment, the government doesn't have to...
pretty ridiculous double standard
Good thing Im a farmer..lol !
