It was a beast in the anime because, you guessed it, the villain cheated (look how far the cards keep spinning after the enemy says stop; Sartorius let them think they had a choice then just applied the effect he wanted anyway)
Not really, they could have given the Archetype some powerful support to make it competitively viable if they wanted to, the problem is that The World is such a gigantic mine to step on that it would break the game if Arcana force ever becomes meta at all.
Honestly, if we do get these retrained, we need the whole set cause I'd like to see even The Judgement being a bit of a powerhouse equating the Light and Dark Rulers and the World.
Used to play Arcana Force in the past. One neat Trick you could do with the Fool was to give it to your Opponent with the Effect of Moon and then use Mask of Restrict. If your Opponent did nothing to switch the Fool into Defense Position, you were guaranteed to run over it with your Monsters, which was very neat if you got out the Dark Ruler already. Very sad, that you cannot do this anymore today...
All things considered i'm hoping for Arcana Force support in next year's attribute pack given that light is all there's left before the (main) cycle is complete.
22:07 The only way I can see that happening, is if Konami released a floodgate with the effect of "While this card is face-up on the field, Both players can only activate "coin-toss" effects from their hand, field, GY or banished cards".
So I ran Arcana Force for Edison night recently at my locals and I managed to FTK with The World. -Light Barrier, Valhalla, The World, and Agent of Creation Venus. -Activate LB, then Valhalla, special The World, get Heads effect, then normal Venus, summon 3 Shine Balls and there ya go. Double turn-skip if they can't stop it. Tribute the two Shine Balls, attack with your 3 remaining monsters, tribute SHine and Venus, then finish with World. Pulled it off twice in the tournament.
Sadly, Arcana Force in general, sucks like hell. I really wish they made it that both sides of the coin toss is positive for the user. Heads would "benefit" the user, while tails would present a negative effect to the opponent. For example: The Magician would retain its heads power boost, but its tails effect would be either a Dark Door for spells (your opponent can cast one 1 spell per turn) or Anti-spell Fragrance effect. It's a shame because I DO like the theme: the Tarot Cards is a staple in many fantasy setting games... and the Arcana Force designs are pretty fun to look at... but other than Dio, most of the cards aren't even worth the cardboard they're printed on :-/ oh, the Material Lord trio + Hanged Man also appears in the PSP game as exclusives. the major problem i have with such an iconic archetype from the gx era, is how bad Konami missed on their refference to the tarot cards, most if not all predictions from tarot are neither positive nor negative, even the same face up prediction can be wildly different base on who get it and how their life is atm(the easiest exemple is that death meaning end and change, could be negative for someone who lives a luxurious life, but a hope for someone living a poor life) Konami making one effect "bad" and the other "good" really missed the whole theme with old Arcana cards, they tried recently to fix it, but tbh they pretty much killed any hope for both a good designed and nice themed deck with most non boss monsters having pure negative effects as option(queen maybe being the only not pure negative that wasnt a tribute monster)
I wish they were playable, they've the most badass looking art from the tarot-based archetypes in the game, The Hanged Man to this day remains one of the most beautiful cards in the game imho.

the arcana force are not based on persona they are actually based on the arcana tarot cards which was a series of 78 tarot cards used in fortune telling.
This archetype is neither a reference to Persona NOR JoJo, it refers to the general Tarot deck, specifically it's Major Arcana cards. The Tarot deck is partially the inspiration for the playing cards we know today, with 4 "suits", being cups, staves, swords and coins, and 14 of each suit for the minor arcana, plus the 22 major arcana cards. (The suits of the minor Arcana forming today's generic playing cards) The Major Arcana is best described as man's journey through life, going from 0 through to 21. one of the first anime archetypes i was ever interested in. and my disappointment in this deck and even moreso the lack of support over the years has only gotten worse. it seems they are mostly still commited to an incredibly bad method of designing luck features, even into the newer cards. Id love for a full revival of this deck, with a redesign. just because the Tarot they are based on has positive and negative effect, doesn't mean they can't be two separate effects that could be useful for the player instead of frequently outright debuffs. basically, more Arcana force XV and EX likes (hi new one!), with useful effects independent of the tosses , and two potentially useful effects. make the light barrier be around to adjust tactics instead of just... dodge the crappy option. more general synergy with coin toss cards beyond just Arcana force would also be sweet. we see some of it with the positive coin effect on Arcana reading. as to Dueltaning... sorry, Hard pass. I have enough issue with my card luck as is without potentially swapping off my light barrier, plus Dueltaning's draw is difficult with Arcana force currently, you'd have to splash some of the 3 coin toss cards in to get close. dueltanign is amazing in certain luck card situations, i just don't think it's this one. you did call out my general tech this go around. the utter lack of special summons in archetype requires some kind of trick to get things going, so things like Vahlla and Celestial are needed. my favorite Arcana force is the Fool personally. can be as consistent or inconsistent as you like, and it's anime effects helping influence your own flips lead into a playstyle of giving it to your opponent. while you can kind of still do so nowadays, it's just not the same game, and that just reads as "free material" unless you can immediately take advantage.
I play against a arkana force player once, he failed the coin flip and konami kiled his entire family.

@@aliastheabnormaldon't forget House of the Dead
one of the first anime archetypes i was ever interested in. and my disappointment in this deck and even moreso the lack of support over the years has only gotten worse. it seems they are mostly still commited to an incredibly bad method of designing luck features, even into the newer cards.
DarkCT nah wrong theres no crappy and its a new game.
