35:14 So here's a fun rabbit hole to dive down. Aliens and the Goblins are in the same universe right? Well Goblins are also in the same universe as Marauding Captain, which is obviously connected to Gagagigo, who of course is connected to the Charmers. One of those Charmers? Wynn, the younger sister of Winda, Priestess of Gusto. Which means that Aliens are in fact part of the Duel Terminal universe. Makes you wonder if the Aliens ever dealt with the Worms.
Another commenter mentioned the fact that they're amorphous and composed of a wide variety of physical forms despite seemingly being related, which could lead to them being related to Worms themselves; possibly the creators or even a split evolutionary line.
I feel like an overturned field spell could do most of the work for making this a fun group of cards to use casually. Possibly one that adds a counters each turn and turns on the atk changing effect while it's active. Could probably even give it another benefit to aliens with a counters on them to explore that side of the mechanic.

I personally want it to go more in tune with it's theme of controlling/hypnotize your opponents monsters. Maybe a link that mentions a "monster your opponent controls" that can possibly quick effect steal a monster until the end of the turn with some sort of protection for all alien (including cosmics) monsters along with a spell (preferably quick play) that let's you place a counter and steal to go into that mentioned link (like a widow anchor for sky strikers)

Here’s a silly tech pick: Catalyst Field and Dimer Synthesis. The Alien field spell is basically not worth using, so the space for a field spell is very much open. Catalyst Field allows you to summon Alien Hypno as an extra Normal summon for extra deck plays, or to actually facilitate its mind control effect. Dimer Synthesis is basically just a Terraforming for Catalyst Field specifically, but with Terraforming itself limited, that still gives you 3 extra copies of it. Is this a consistent way to play control aliens? Probably not, but that’s what makes it a silly tech pick. And it’s just funny that getting an extra normal summon of one specific Alien monster is better than anything their own field spell does.
While not the best, Aliens also have enough reasonably strong/synergistic Lights in Kid, Grey, Ammonite, and Gangiel that you can pair them fairly well with Worms as a devoted control strategy. In a 2011-12 era of a progression, they can be a massive X-factor depending what cards you have banned
This archetype makes me so curious about the lore and how it interacts with other archetypes. For one thing, the fact that these are alien creatures composed of some kind of slimy material that have a hive mind and a diverse array of physical forms makes me wonder if these things might be either a progenitor to or an evolved form of the Worms. And for another… is it just me, or does the background of “Otherworld - The A Zone” look _suspiciously_ similar to Neo Space? Maybe there’s a reason our pal Neos never takes off his mask.
The reason crop circle has that wording is because the only requirement for activation is that you have 1 legal target. So if you have a level 4 alien on board and one in your deck you CAN activate the card, however if you then send 13 levels worth of aliens to the grave, as stupid as that would be, you obviously cannot find a level 13 alien monster. The level 4 was there on board, and you had one inside the deck, so it was legal to activate it, however during resolution you sent too many, so you couldn't find anything. Thus, the penalty, so you couldn't just use that as an excuse to shuffle your deck. This is why it has a fail to find penalty, because it's the only card in the game, that can actually legally "Fail to find". And also because keeping track of what aliens you have left in your deck during a late game turn would be very difficult unless you have a photographic memory so if you think you have a 4 left, but it turns out you don't you don't just get DQ'd for a mistake you made.
Alien Ogdoadics is probably the only way to play it remotely successfully now as an engine and thus Snake Rain is basically required. Stealthbuster honestly is not what was needed, you can easily run Aliens without it. With PPV/Link2, Alien Overlord and Alien Kid, and the Quickplay, those are more than enough. Instead, to double down on A-Counter usage. One of the weaknesses is nothing has protection in the deck so destruction prevention to play a long game could've helped, or having A-counters be transferred to Extra Deck monster using it as materials to stack say from a PPV. Lastly, the Atk/def reduction could be upped given how crazy atk/def mods are these days. 600/counter wouldn't be too crazy these days, so sending an Overlord to GY with Quickplay would be -3600, which is reasonable for a Battle Step 2 card combo.
I absolutely love Aliens, been hoping for this video since I found your channel back in 2020! Counter strategies are my all time favourite in card games, and Aliens really lean into them the best, imo. It's such a shame most of the cards are shot in the foot, like the lack of corruption effects or Zone A not having "For each A-Counter" on it. Here's hoping we can get another wave of support in line with Zer'oll and Stealthbuster to help bring them up to par! Another xenomorph-type summon effect, a card that makes Cosmics count as Aliens, maybe another way to bank counters, and another beater with a good effect would really help round out the archetype. Zer'oll finally gives us a wincon beyond just beating over the opponent, and with Overlord, Dog, Kid, Stealthbuster, Gol'gar, and the various spells and traps, we've got counter generation for that wincon down to a science. We just need more effective ways to use them. I also think taking some cues from Endymion would help, where doing the thing (playing Spells vs summoning Aliens) lets you do the thing more. Right now Aliens just don't have a way to close out games, and that's what all the support archetypes mentioned do.
One of my favorite decks, hopefully Konami creates new support, like a Field that combines the effects (Once per turn) of the Flying Sauce, Overlord and the A Zone.
What I would find scary if there was an Alien card that causes Alien monsters to gain attack from each monster with an A counter. This would really heighten the danger of A-counters. And or an Alien that summons itself by tributing monsters your opponent controls with A counters even if you do not own them.
I legit feel like the Alien Archetype should have made an intro in Gx's Society of Light arc, cuz I mean... C'mon! Saiou (Sartorius) was controlled by the Surge of Light (Light of Destruction), which is an alien parasite from space, we had the Neo-Spacians, who themselves are literally aliens, too! So what's one more alien invasion, eh? Eh?
"Alien BroodMother" Same stats as mother Effect: .You can special summon this card from your hand or GY by tributing 1 face-up "Alien" monster or 1 face-up monster with A-Counter(s) on the field, but if you Special Summon it from the GY banish it when it leaves the field. You can only Special Summon 1 "Alien BroodMother" this way once per turn. . If an opponent monster with A-Counter(s) leaves the field by battle or by a card effect, you can: Special Summon from your deck 1 "Alien" monster with less ATK than the opponent monster's Original ATK. You cannot Special Summon with this effect a monster with the same name as a monster that has already been Special Summoned with this effect during this turn.
One of my favorite archetypes when I was in highschool. I remembered I made a deck with what aliens I had with six samurai's and other cards. It was not one of my best decks. (That was my dark deck.) But I still enjoyed playing with it.
The best duelist in my high school used Aliens with Genex Ally Birdman to bring out Triarm and Triforce thanks to their varied Attributes. He ended up giving me his deck when he graduated, and that's how they became my favourite archetype.
Honestly they should upgrade hypno, remove the Gemini and drop the stats, then build more synergy around "abducting" enemy monsters. Have a link monster that puts counters on any monsters it points to. Have a field spell "mothership" that allows you to create a clone token once per turn with the same stats and effects of a monster with an a-counter. Just lean into aliens being a bunch of weak science bois who abduct enemies to experiment (plant a-counters) and get some crazy themed effects.
Aliens are my favorite deck. One other card I like to use is Therion Empress Alasia with two ways to use it: A- just a decent beater B- summon Reptillane Echidna, set opponent monster to 0, add Empress to hand, summon it via one of the link materials just used, use those two to climb into Zer'oll. Best case in either is using Stealthbuster to proc his counter effect
As someone who mains Aliens, Hypno is one of my favourite monsters and for me is one of the best designed cards in the game BECAUSE of it's inherent difficulty. The value of the card scales to the effort you put into it. With the right combo, you can effectively snatch steal your opponent's entire board with no downside, but you have to actually work to get that effect off. To me, that's a perfect balance. It's not like a lot of modern boss monsters with overpowered effects for no effort. But unlike say: Gate Guardian, if you CAN make the most out of it and play your cards right, you're rewarded with a cool and powerful effect.
I fell in love with Aliens as an archetype through Duel Links. Nothing was funnier than watching someone ram the Blue Eyes White Dragon they spent their whole hand to summon into my Alien Kid, utterly confident it would win, only to die because I activated a Recombination Device and dumped Overlord. Or using Brainwashing Beam to snatch a monster and disrupt their plays. Plus, I love the designs; the strange, shiny, sleek looks on most of the main deck monsters, and the cosmic abomination theming on the boss monsters were sick.
I was watching Yugioh 5ds, and the Dark Signer "Misty" used an equip spell card (can't recall the name of the card), which only works with reptile-type monsters. The effect says something along the line of "equipped reptile monster once per battle phase, during a battle the equipped monster isn't destroyed in its first battle and gains +200 ATK as long creature stays on field." This means u need to battle the same creature twice in order to send him from the field to GY. Cosmic Horror equipped with this is a REAL horror to fight.
I love Aliens, cool aesthetic, cool mecanic, whenever I play those old Tag Force games, I always play Aliens (Gol'gar is such a beast there). But man, Zer'oll is such a lovehate card, for obvious reasons. I don't know if the archetype if a beloved one, but man, it would not hurt some proper support. Like dude, the deck doesn't have ANY starter, it's all utility or cards that need set-up and said cards ARE good (Triangle and Brainwash are decent disruptions; Kid and Virus are superb counter generators while Stealth and Recombination are a good one, Overlord and Dog are good extenders) I doubt they would a top tier if they get modern support (as, at the end of the day, they are a protect the castle type of deck) but they could be a decent rogue that could steal wins here and there.
Alien Telepath does target. It’s just stupid old era tcg wording. It’s exactly the same for Cloudian Acid Cloud and Cloudian Cirrostratus, neither says they target but they do (The original Japanese text uses the wording that implies they target).
My idea to make Aliens Viable? Overhauled field spell that does 3 things. Number 1, search on activation. No hopt. Really lean into the Gol'gar loop. Number 2. Give all aliens and cosmic horrors the corruption effect. All of them should have it but this way A counters become a legit threat. And 3. Give Monsters with a counters on them the spell bound effect minus tributing. Then maybe a continuous floodgate that makes all monsters on the field with A counters on them Reptile type alien monsters to mess with extra deck requirements and mess up archetypes
Back when i still played on the regular, I was "That guy who played Aliens". Ran it off and on for years. Had no idea they were still getting support with the new Link monsters 😅 Also, amother niche card i used was Evil Dragon Ananta. Slap it down early for some early removal, or late game as a beatstick. Also also, my fave is also Shocktrooper.
The alien card design makes me also wonder if zeta reticulant is technically an alien but apparently is a fairy for some reason lol but it REALLY looks like one
I’ve had an OG yugioh character that uses an Alien deck. I called him Mars. He is the psychic practitioner of The Gear Gang. He’s inspired by Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid
ao the only way I see the burn from crope circles happening is that you did 3000 damage with aliens then in the battle phase activite crop circles then your opponent changes infro Tempest to banish all your monsters
On Alien Brain: Some people used to play Oshaleon, a Reptile that forces itself as the only viable attack target while it is on the field. It also searches for another Reptile 500ATK or less when it is destroyed in battle.
Love the content. Have you done the Harpy deck profile or the Madolche deck? Would love to see that. And would also love to hear more Yugioh lore from you bro! Keep up the great work!
If these had been introduced later, they definitely would've been Psychic. They need to be retrained. (I'm working on my own version until they get their own official retrain.)

Man this was one of my favorite decks back on high school alongside Inzektor and Machina
4:35 what if the next expansion is Extra Deck monster Summoned by Tributing mondters with A-Counters?
Like a Mix between Predaolanys and Metalfoes?
Your voice and the way you read is very entertaining! You keep me awake at work.
Alien Telepath does target. It’s just stupid old era tcg wording.
It’s exactly the same for Cloudian Acid Cloud and Cloudian Cirrostratus, neither says they target but they do
(The original Japanese text uses the wording that implies they target).
The background music was pretty distracting ngl
Im pretty certain that some of the music in this video is from xenoblade chronicles x which is a thumbs UP from me
Correct!
@@GreatBigPillock you have good tastes

You used to be able to activate to no effect
No, you don't want to go straight to Alien Mother 3, if you do it'll remain an OCG exclusive for all of eternity.
Using music from Brawl's Adventure Mode for Aliens is a nice touch
Thanks for the info!
This was my favorite duel links deck, nothing more satisfying than stealing a boss monster with brainwashing beam
I've been using this deck since Golgar came out. It's been my favorite deck ever since
Back when i still played on the regular, I was "That guy who played Aliens". Ran it off and on for years. Had no idea they were still getting support with the new Link monsters 😅
Also, amother niche card i used was Evil Dragon Ananta. Slap it down early for some early removal, or late game as a beatstick.
Also also, my fave is also Shocktrooper.
you see, in alternate timeline Alien Infiltrator actually a good tech option for the upper mention Spright Aliens Control with Ogdoadic engine.
The alien card design makes me also wonder if zeta reticulant is technically an alien but apparently is a fairy for some reason lol but it REALLY looks like one
Same!
After the Area 51 meme event, I feel they may make some warrior and spellcaster aliens
I’ve had an OG yugioh character that uses an Alien deck. I called him Mars. He is the psychic practitioner of The Gear Gang. He’s inspired by Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid
I have found the sauce for the song during the first part:
No.EX 01 - Xenoblade Chronicles X
"You've probably not seen this card (Muusik'i) before..." as someone who actually played back in those days i saw a LOT of it as pack filler.
RUclips added Area 51 context onto this video. Well it does kind of fit, so ok
I find a video about my favorite deck, I insta click. Good video!
Everytime this guy makes a vid about a certain deck i end up building it in master duel.
ao the only way I see the burn from crope circles happening is that you did 3000 damage with aliens then in the battle phase activite crop circles then your opponent changes infro Tempest to banish all your monsters
Ya love to see it no3=NO:Ex01 goes hard as shit.
Cosmic Fortress Gol'Gar + Swords of Revealing Light = Demented Laughter.
On Alien Brain:
Some people used to play Oshaleon, a Reptile that forces itself as the only viable attack target while it is on the field. It also searches for another Reptile 500ATK or less when it is destroyed in battle.
Ah yes, Endymion loves casting spells

Hol up. Wasn't that skyscraper we saw the same one from Skyscraper 2- Hero City?
Not related to the cards, but what is the background track durin the monster portion? Its been earworming me for days.
*breathes in* goddamn Alien Stealthbuster looks hot as feck. WHY DID THEY MAKE IT TO APPEAL TO US SCALIES
Can we PLEASE get some kind of HERO lore? My own stories have swirled in my brain since 2006, growing with each wave of support.
question....if you put a pot of greed into this deck, would it make it an "illegal" alien deck?
I do love the reptile pile though i do wish it scaled better
Love the content. Have you done the Harpy deck profile or the Madolche deck? Would love to see that. And would also love to hear more Yugioh lore from you bro! Keep up the great work!
If these had been introduced later, they definitely would've been Psychic. They need to be retrained. (I'm working on my own version until they get their own official retrain.)
Also does the corruption effect stack if there’s multiple monsters with the corruption effect
i wish they had a few retrained cards and a new field spell maybe a new extra deck monsters of each type (xyz, fusion, Synchro, and link) that were aliens not cosmic horrors. though i love me some cosmic horrors.
What’s the name of the music used in the background ? That music slapped so hard
What’s the song that starts at 2:05?
32:54 is that skyscraper 2?
Horrors "beyond" human comprehension?
I can comprehend these horrors just fine.
Unfortunately, it does not make it better.
It makes it worse...
The alien archetype is so messy they have no idea what to do with them 😅
Mix with ogdoadics, or just have an ogdoadic deck with aliens in the extra deck
If Aliens get new Support anounced before December after this Video now, i wonder if Konami will also give them the Waifu Treatment?
ReptAliens/Alienvaders
AKA Reptile Alien imposters conspiracy
@@Ramsey276one Sure, Maybe inspired by "the Queen of Blades"/Sarah Kerrigan, or the Alien
from "Species", which could fit in rather nicely i think, since that one was designed by H.R. Geiger
@@benjaminseelking9483 Agreed
Is there a way to filter out the music, I'm distracted and can't concentrate on what he's saying when the background music is also singing at around the same volume.
I love using these guys with the snake people to make a horrid field of stat reducing monsters
Does mass hypnosis target? If so, does it target the A counter or the monster itself?
Just waiting for the day someone uses Aliens to win with Venominaga
I am surprise there was no myutans joke laying around.
Whats thr background song at 8:08?
If only future support could use "A Counter" being in an Effect.
I'm surprised they haven't made an alien version of crush card virus and deck devastation virus
Love Aliens but man… they need Boss monsters that are treated as Aliens and they need more of the ATK reducing eff (at the least) and the spells need to not target to spread A-counters (just distribute) . And an actual Starter or faster searcher . :(
That background music busting my eardrums 😭
When we will get Endymion/Mythical Beast/Spellcounter Explained and Lore? And more Magistus support??
