My suggestion for a Failed Cards video: Synchro Fusions. For some reason Konami thought the best thing to do in the synchro era to push the mechanic even further would be to introduce fusion monsters which required synchro monsters as their materials. While some were interesting, the obviously clunky mechanic never saw a lot of success.

I think Konami has been looking at a lot of underpowered or overshadowed archetypes lately… I’m hoping we get some support for Flip and Gemini monsters that can help them become and STAY viable for the long term (like maybe a Pendulum/Tuner/Gemini that sees a unique suite of support because of that typing, even before any other context.)

    • @ThatOneWeirdFlex
      @ThatOneWeirdFlex 9 месяцев назад +3

@@ButFirstHeLitItOnFireflip is fine as long as its Subterror/Krawler-esque. Gemini would never be playable. They literally gave them a field spell that does everything you want, but still requires you to spend both summons to make your Gemini monster an effect monster.

I meant generic flip support, like say, a quickplay spell or counter trap where if a monster(s) you control are removed from the field by an opponents card or effect, you can normal set any number of flip monsters you possess who’s total levels are equal to or less than the removed monster(s) level/rank/link.
As for Gemini’s I’m thinking a pendulum/tuner/Gemini monster that gives benefits to normal summoning in general while you control face-up Gemini monsters (extra normal summons per turn for every gemini monster you control during the draw phase of said turn, Gemini’s can be normal summoned with 1 less tribute, etc…)

There is ONE upside to Jurracs. Too many YuGiOh Dinosaur monsters resort to the most typical of dinosaurs, T-Rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Pteradon, Brachiosaurus and Velociraptor, and barely anything else, Jurracs at least decided to dedicate most of it's monsters to the lesser known Dino species, such as Giganotosaurus (My 2nd fav) and even Iguanadon, and it would be nice to see more Dinosaurs that aren't the staple generic monsters, even my fav the Ankylosaurus is barely touched in YuGiOh.
If an entire type is going to be dedicated to dinosaurs, they should try and reach their inspirations beyond the more famous ones to give us variety, and Jurracs at least deliver on that, but as you say in the video, no ST support and lack of good strategy lets the archetype down.

Jurracs were actually a great rogue choice 2011-2013. They had a clear advantage over Tengu Plants, being able to trigger Guaiba with ease to go into Laggia/Dolkka. With the Flamvell hybrid + Rekindling working with Aeolo, you could assemble a board of Laggia+Stardust with ease. At that time, it was a great combo that ended games, especially if you added a boosted Giganoto to boot.
I say this as someone who played Jurracs and got my nats invite with them. The deck was slept on because people only saw Guaiba for Dino Rabbit. It had a lot of potential that never got realized.

    1. Some spells that allow for special summoning from hand or deck and providing destruction protection / other additional effects .
    2. ATK buff for them & debuff for opponent's monsters and BURN damage , some Jurrac Link 2 or 3 monsters could help with it .
    3. New Synchros that can deal huge chunks of damage either by doubling their ATK points ( taking example from Tenpai / Sangen dragons ) , or switching monsters to DEF and deal 2X piercing damage .
    4. A game finisher Synchro monster .
To Summarize , since they are Fire Dinosaur , Jurracs could be a battle / burn deck if it gets future support .

The trick being it needs to be used before the opponent has monsters in the GY (or, at least, when you can already destroy by battle everything they could bring out), or right before you raigeki their board. GBA's Stairway to the Destined Duel, before you're far enough along to just Cyber-Stein everything, is about the right format for it to be functional in if not for that fact that the only way to get it early game by the totally random booster given when you beat that week's special opponent, which has everything in the game (at least it's a common there). It is an early game card in Nightmare Troubadour though.

Jurrac Iguanon made me rewind to make sure I heard the effect right.
Returning a set card to the hand after destroying a monster by battle is weak for like, for late DM, nevermind 5Ds. Good job, you would've removed a mirror force if your opp didn't use it first. Oh wait, they'd just set it again.
Duel Terminal archetypes had such random effects, but to give them credit; they were rarely broken because they were consistently underpowered.

Had a feeling this archetype would end up here, but it was still one of my favorites. Obviously they'd have no place in the meta nowadays but frankly nothing I've ever played would. It was really satisfying when I beat a Six Samurai player at a tournament I went to way back when they were top tier. And while it took a lot of outside support to work, Giganoto could be surprisingly hard to work around with the right protection, and Titano had a pretty decent protection effect too, if you could manage to get it out, even though they'd be nowhere near viable these days.

I always felt for some reason that jurrac should use their level as like a "food chain" kind of deal. Where they should summon a lower level jurrac. And the tuners could have subtle bonuses. So there may have been a benefit to run the higher level jurrac's in a synchro deck because they can get those "lower on the food chain." And maybe do what they did with shadolls but with combat. Have a default effect, and have a strong effect that activates for destroying a monster. Like, imagine a level 4 non tuner jurrac that summons or searches a level 3 or lower jurrac tuner. And that tuner when used to synchro would make the synchro gain 100 for each of its level for example.

Idea for a Dinosaur field spell:
    _Mesozoic World_
    Field Spell
_This card is treated as “Jurassic World” while face-up on the field. All Dinosaur monsters gain 300 ATK/DEF. You can apply each of the following effects of this card once per turn:_
⚪️If you summon a level/rank 4 or lower Dinosaur monster(s): You can normal or Special summon any number of monsters from your hand or GY with the same original name as the summoned monster(s).
⚪️If you summon a level/rank 5 or higher dinosaur monster: it cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects until this card leaves the field OR until this effect is applied again.

Jurrac carried me hard in a KC Cup back then. Win after win after win. Ptera, hera and stauriko were mvps. Especially ptera cause sometimes he bounced ED monsters and sometimes when the opponent attacked with weak monsters first they couldn't beat over him 😂. Even had only a single guaiba. And when Titano hit the field it was game over for the opponent. Fun times 😢

i used to use a jurrac dino in duel links, that when you destroyed an enemy in battle, you could sacrifice a jurrac to draw 2, which i use it on itself
not excellent by any stretch, but in duel links it was easier to kill things by battle and the opponent usually spend resources dealing with it, which is a positive for me, as i used it as card advantage, going neutral or +1 is good enough for it's purpouse

Dinosaur has always been my go to, I played Dinosaur Evo pill decks in the early 2000s, then after school I got back into the game right after dino rabbit, I found jurracs and made them my go to deck til the new dino structure came out. I had tons if fun playing that deck, added a dragon ruler blaster, evolzars, fire and ice hands, survival of the fittest, forbidden lances and shrinks, and actually got semi decent playing mermails, but shadolls completely wrecked me and I stopped playing it. Lol had tons of fun tho, I need to dig up that deck and try and modernize it

They've added a bunch of non-Synchro, non-Tuner Jurrac monsters into Speed Duel where they fit ok. The smaller deck size and larger focus on combat (along with few ways for players to flood their GY with monsters on their first turn), make it so starting the game with a Gilasaurus into Jurrac Tyrannus feels quite good. One of the Dino Skills also gives you 200 LP and a way of filtering your draws and a 200 ATK boost to one Dino every turn. They've never been tier 1 in the competitive Speed Duel landscape, but most of the people I know prefer to play that format casually with thematic decks rather than just a collection of the best staples and, in that context, Jurracs can be a force to reckon with.

I built a pure jurrac beat down deck running 3 ×solidarity in Highschool. I was that crazy kid with a Jurrac deck 😂 it's all fun and games until you get attacked by Jurrac Guaiba with 2500 Atk that brings out another Jurrac beatstick. Generic Back row removal was plentiful in the hidden arsenal days, so keeping them on the field wasnt too hard. Jurrac Giganoto raises the attack of ALL Jurracs on the field 200 atk for every Jurrac in the graveyard. That, plus Solidarity and I'd have the field full of 3000+ atk Jurracs. Meteor wasn't too hard to bring out once Aeolo came out. As soon as you wiped the board, bring back Aeolo and tribute it to bring back Guiaba and start the cycle all over again. I just think of it more like people failed to get a grasp of the mechanics and went with more mainstream decks of the time. I used to give Crystal Beasts and Gladiator Beasts a run for their money.

I really loved Jurracs mostly because their art was really cool! They really cemented Dinosaurs as a FIRE attribute staple which just feels so Yugioh. But yeah sadly they are always disappointing. I think they were slightly more successful in Duel Links with having multiple great Dinosaur-support skills. One of my favorites used both Jurrac Guiaba and Hydrogendon but also Frost And Flame Dragon. But sadly only moderately good at best.

Impact could actually be useful with the trancendasaurus, wipe the entire board while your big monsters are indestructible or just revive them right after and leave the opponent open or at least weakened for your massive monsters to run over them on your turn.

    Here's good jurrac support.
    Jurrac Continuous or Field Spell
When this card is activated: you can add 1 "Jurrac" card from your Deck to your Hand. You can Normal Summon "Jurrac" monster in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gains this effect once per turn.) During the Main Phase: you can target 1 "Jurrac" monster you control; activate that card effect when it destroys a monster by battle as this card effect. You can only use this effect of "Jurrac Continuous or Field Spell" once per turn. You can only activate 1 "Jurrac Continuous or Field Spell" per turn.

If jurrac get support cards and it’s broken most likely a field spell something like jurrac monsters can’t be destroyed unless it’s by battle and during damage calc when a jurrac monster battles you can tribute one monster you control and have it gains its atk or something like that and another synchro boss monster that actually does something and is easier to summon

0:59 I can fix this effect:
_Gains 100 ATK/DEF for every card on the field and in both players hands. Once per turn (Quick Effect), you can change this face-up card’s battle position. The following effect are applied depending on this card’s battle position:_
Attack Position: “Jurrac” monsters card attack again in a row per turn, and deal piercing battle damage if they battle a defense position monster.
Defense Position: Defense Position Jurrac monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects.
