I sold everything and am enjoying the freedom of RV living. I used to watch a lot of RUclips channels about the RV lifestyle, trying to figure out and prepare myself for it. As time went on, most of the channels seemed more and more like infomercials. I am so grateful for Life Redesigned! As I am now currently developing a RUclips channel of my own, I am so glad for the example you both set for honesty and integrity. May God bless you both and safe travels!

Great video! I was about to get Nomad Internet after the band wagon push. Made a two minute search and found it was a fraud. Two weeks later the channels changed their tone. As for the mattress, we have owned 5 RVs in 30 years and Costco mattresses and upgraded $30 bed lifts work just fine. As for $5000+ solar systems. We find two Power Queen 100Ah lithium batteries and an ECO Flow power station powers what we need for a couple nights of Harvest Host stays.

We’ve been preparing for our version of RV life for the past two years and God willing we’ll be in some kind of rig by the end of the year. We’ve been absorbing every bit of information we can to the point of analysis paralysis. Your take on things is so refreshing it got you another subscriber. Wow, I’m glad that you said it! About 5 years ago, the wife and I bought our first Rv and of course I wanted to learn all that I could so I started following a lot of youtubers to get information and as of today I am only subscribed to 2 and yall being 1 of them. The other one is from 5 years ago because they are genuine. Jut the other day I clicked on click bait for one of the big channels about internet and noticed that they were using the same internet equipment that I’ve had for almost a year so I listened to the video and decided to check out the service that they mentioned and the link took me to the same service that I have but not what they mentioned in the video and it makes you wonder how many just bought it without looking at the details. By the way, the service that I use is not that good when you get down to it so I questioned them on why the service was different from what they mentioned and they responded with typical bs. We are still looking for a good service without breaking the bank. Thanks for the info and keep charging forward brother. We think yall do a good deed so keep it up!
I saw that "walk in the woods" video and without knowing to whom it was directed, or why, it still struck a wrong chord with me. I'm glad I found your video. I subscribed to a lot of the big channels years ago when we were planning our move to FT - which we did 15 months ago and it's been fantastic. But, I've stopped watching most of them now because I've grown tired of them shlepping the flavor of the month (I too noticed the cyclical nature of them all jumping on (or off) the same bandwagon around the same time). Most of them were somewhat useful in their earlier days with some "how to" or "don't make the mistake I did" videos (never walk away from your wet bay when flushing the black tank!), but it all seems like it's about the clicks now. So, between the shlepping and trading a video of a tech's work for free installs of products, I'm done with most of them. I opened my channel thinking exactly the same as you - let the kids keep up with us, but got discouraged by the smoothness of the bigger channels. Finding smaller channels now and realizing working off my iPhone for now works just fine. Subscribed.
Wow! I watched the video you speaking of. I commented that I did not know the drama they were speaking of but to be true to themselves and whoever was hating would benefit by starting their day in the word! But this shines a different light on things! I am new to your channel but it caught my eye and I subscribed as I liked what I saw. I have watched and noticed the whole click bait sensation out there and now I will not watch those videos because I have a low tolerance for description on any level. I don’t fault folks for making a living but they should not deceive people to do it. You know you look around the world today and it does not take a rocket scientist to see the Devil has got a large amount of people deceived. There are those of us that see it and those of us that don’t. I am glad that I do. I am nothing special but I do believe in the Bible. After battling stage 4 cancer and surviving and the my wife was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer which she survived as well, we have a different out look on life. Thank You for your honesty ! My wife and I live in northern Nevada, where we live we drive 30 miles to the nearest town. (No Crime where we live) We have a 2000 Ford 350 diesel, with over 250,000 miles on it, 4X4 four door with a large flat bed and a 30 gallon propane tank, plus a 8,000 watt propane generator. We tow a 27 year old 5th wheel (28 foot) with all new stuff, lights, solar panels, and so on. we also tow a 18 ft enclosed trailer with our off road e-bikes and other camping Equipment.. We like to find old ghost towns, and there are a lot of them here in Northern Nevada. We like Nevada and where we know all the laws. . Yes our 5th wheel old but it is light (weight). and works very well for us. Oh yes we are 80 years young. I really enjoyed your talk. You have answered a lot of my questions about other web sights. There is no way we could do what you all do. We like to travel to Europe, (We have family in Norway and Scott land).. We enjoy our home too.
I weathered the video your speaking of. In regards to mental health they need to stay in their own lane. Just remember what goes up must come down. Just subscribed to your channel recently when you addressed the issues like everybody is leaving RV life. Wow! Just saw your video. I recently quit watching this 50+ solo woman who travels with her dog. She wears pig tails a LOT and I really enjoyed watching her. Her RV constantly breaks down too…but I liked her. Until…One day, she starts doing her own product promotions and tells companies have asked her to try it…blah, blah, blah. After seeing this woman change before my eyes, I couldn’t do it anymore. I refuse to watch anybody who has turned “corporate” greed RV’r anymore! It’s truly sad. I don’t trust what they’re saying because they’re paid and given huge, valuable merchandise to basically lie to us. Thank you for your honesty and for standing up for truth. The others make me want to - yes, vomit!

Real talk here. Appreciate the integrity. I've been following Sarasota Tim (from an initial retire at the age of 62 video). One of your videos showed up for a recommendation after watching the idea of renting out RVs. Not sure I could handle a bad renter situation. It's nice to see when folks are creating honest and ethical content. Appreciate what I saw on a few of your videos. You two stay blessed.
Not able to RV, but curious about the life, I did a deep dive and caught on to the same tye of edited videos by many Utubers who might not be directly sponsored by a business but have links to many products they happen to like. Then they have a video about costs of RVing, they can afford it with so many people buying their linked products. Many obviously started with money in the bank and aren't so humble as they claimed when starting out. YOU NAILED IT, NEW SUBSCRIBER.

Its funny how they twist the narrative and use words as weapons... classic passive aggressive. You just keep telling it like it is. They turned what should be just knowledge gathering or entertainment into a Grift...snake oil salesmen and they are upset that their game is being exposed. I quit watching that content from those "scripted" channels a year ago...I had pretty much figured out they communicated with each other for the latest craze cause they all changed there grift in unison...from mattresses to e-bikes to internet providers. Best video ever! I stopped watching so many self serving channels because of the lies and cheap product promoting. One couple showed their starlink being thrown in a dumpster. This was so they could promote nomad which was clearly a lie of a company. I called them out on it immediately after watching the nomad video and their next video showed them taking the star link out of the dumpster. I guess what was so maddening is that they didn't provide any apology and a promise to do better. Thanks for providing clarity on how we are taken advantage of by the people we have trusted.
Thank you, truth is wonderful. So is telling like it is. Wife and I have been camping since 1990. People need to realize that not everything that works one some people, may not work for others. So many times we get asked which unit should they get and we always tell them that we can't tell them that because we do not know how they will use it. My wife and I have been out about 9 months a year for the last 4 - 5 years. We travel around the country, see the sights, do what we feel or want depending on where we are at. We see all these youtube and forum tales on what is good and what isn't. We also see all these stories of how some were mislead or deceived in some way. All the while it comes down what some have not done what they should have or used it as intended, not how they think it should work, and some are a bit of unrealistic expectations. Some reading and research, as well as a routine would have prevented most of these issues. We know that stuff happens as well. Wife and I look at it as a part of the adventure. Some things bad, but most are good. Funny how a little thing called common sense and common courtesy seem to be lacking in a lot of these. It is how you deal with it that determines the outcome. Take care of it, learn from it, and press on. Wife and I enjoy ourselves. We meet a lot of people in our travels and most are really nice and just want to enjoy themselves as well. BOOM! Mic drop! Here is a small rant in support of your rant as a "consumer" of RV videos or any other specialized videos on RUclips. I LOVE your no-nonsense point of view of what I consider the "dirty underbelly" of RUclips content makers including how defensive and protective they are of their "product." Your bully example and the reaction is so spot on and could be applied to so many circumstances we have all been exposed to. I could list the large channels I have unsubscribed to that have changed for the worse as they have become so commercialized that they have lost their unbiased charm. I am mixed on accepting sponsorships or revenue from promoting products even though once a channel turns to promotions they always change. As a consumer, we do want an honest review of products related to what our interests are and RV'rs using the products in the real world should be the best test. But, I have seen it many times when a new product comes out and nearly every RV RUclipsr has that product and are either promoting it or "testing" it. I realize they are all getting paid in some way to do this and over time, I just can't trust anything they say. I am also a fisherman and for many years I have followed professional Bass Fisherman who do nothing but promote products. I really hate when they are using a Ranger boat and claim it's the best boat ever made. Then down the road they are in a Skeeter boat and it's the best boat ever made! It is laughable and I discovered that we have ALL been suckers over our lifetimes as we have been fed advertising through many methods. That is just how our markets works, but it has changed in the world of social media as we humans don't like being called out for participating in the "snake oil" reviews and then using their fighting words to deny the truth. Ok, nobody reads more than 3 or 4 lines, so I have overstayed my welcome here. I could not agree with you more and have only been a sub for a short time. Just keep doing you and don't change a thing.

Honestly being an introvert is interesting with this lifestyle. It can go both ways. You can have times where you feel as though “finally I am left alone” and other times where you are forced to be part of something bigger than yourself (in a good way) It is crazy to us that 17 years in the same neighborhood and we barely spoke to our neighbors, yet every RV park or campground we go to people are overwhelmingly friendly and want to socialize lol

I just stumbled on this video. I don't own an RV. I don't intend to buy one. I'm not wistful for a life I don't have (in an RV). I find RV videos interesting. This is why I randomly click on them. I have no idea about whom you are speaking. Let me just say this as an objective observer with no skin in the game . . . that was a classy, mature and intelligent response to what was obviously an attack from another channel. Well done and well said, sir.
The algorithm decided to present me with their video. Well, I must say (again, as someone with no skin in the game), they seem disingenuous. They have quite a large platform. Why on earth are they bothering to attack a much smaller channel? The word "petty" immediately comes to mind. I'm actually kind of floored that warring over RUclips is a thing. But whatever. I still appreciate how you've handled this situation.
I always try to tell the truth too, and sometimes get my posts removed when I point out a cheaper or more effective alternative to the overpriced product being hawked. If you threaten another person's livelihood, even unintentionally or indirectly, expect retaliation. It's par for the course and the price of freedom. We love your channel and recognize any criticism of it for the obvious motivations behind them. Just remember that no good deed goes unpunished. The fact that you would show up on their radar and elicit a response is a feather in your cap. You don't get flack unless you're over the target. I suggest you release your payload - not as a matter of spite or malice, but of altruistic public service. For what profiteth a man if he gains the world, but lose his immortal soul?
First I'm not an RVER, I watch different channels and have subbed to no one. While watching a very big RVER review channel they posted the MSRP along with other statistics of the RV they were reviewing. When they announced the MSRP it was higher than the published price. I e-mailed them a few times informing them but never heard back. I'd say in the last 2 or 3 months it has not happened. Are they phony or not I have no clue but I take their prices with a grain of salt. As you stated in your video it's true, there are good and bad and lots are on here for the money only. God Bless for a refreshing video.

People need to stop listening to what everyone else is saying or doing. You do you and forget about everyone else. People have and will forever quit RV life when they are done with it while others begin their RV life. It has happened for ever and a day and will continue to happen. I have been at it for seven years and I am not quitting any time soon.
Right on! My viewing came from an email claiming RV channel apocalypse, but it was simply you taking the high road and calling out the bully, and the other taking the low road to save subscribers and make more money. I subscribed to you. Keep up the pure honesty, as we all need honesty.

Almost all of the utubers I followed when I was researching this lifestyle, have become something\ someone I don't recognize any more. Sad all for the money. Please keep, keeping it real.
Way to lay it out on the table. I’ve click more than my share of “Quitting” videos. Fortunately, I am smart enough to understand there will be a natural ebb and flow of RV folks doing their thing. For many people, full time just isn’t sustainable. Life turns on a dime. We haven’t begun our journey yet because we moved back home to take care of our elderly moms. When they are gone, we hope to travel for awhile but we know our full time journey will be finite (3 - 5 years possibly?). Whatever our plans, the saying, “Man plans. God laughs” couldn’t ring more true. Many folks jumped on the band wagon post COVID. Many of the rigs bought back then are now for sale. Life happens!
Great Vid! I was also approached by "nomad internet" (not for 800 a vid lol). They offered me free unit, $35 per signup, and free internet for life after 5 signups. I turned it down. We were happy with Starlink and I wasn't into spamming my few subscribers. It is sad to watch some of your favorite RUclipsrs develop huge ego's, spam their subscribers and delete any comment they don't like. I mean it's fine to have a sponsor or have links to real products on amazon and such you love. But some have just become infomercials. I seen a big channel a while back, scream murder because RV parks wouldn't exchange free stays for Positive Video reviews. One canceled on them and they did multiple vids on it bashing them, showing confidential email and such. These people loose a grip on Reality. They are now not nomadic anymore I suppose cause they didn't want to pay for stays like the rest of us. Anyways I could go on and on. Keep making real content! Love it...

Psst. It just so happens that we will be in Florida and not too far from the show. If we go, we will pay our own ticket (no famous youtuber press pass) and be there looking at RV’s because we want to - I am quite sure that clown wouldn’t even come near me BUT it would be funny as an outsider to see them scrambling. Oh the stories I could tell about being in Orlando when our Nomad Internet video went live and being surrounded by those very RUclipsrs that are part of their group - funny how they all praised us for telling it straight … well to our faces 🤣🤣
I now know who you're talking about and I am/was a sub to most of the "big channels" If I have to have AG1 drink, RV mattress, Snap pads, internet or anything else shoved in my face one more time!🙄 I thank you for just telling it like it is. In the words of the great philosopher Mike Tyson, "Everyone has a plan, until they get punched in the face." I now tend to just sub to channels like yours. If a channel just has something to sell you... I just pass. I'm not full time just a weekend warrior but I still like to see what the full timers do, other than sell you stuff!😄

My wife and I traveled full time we put out around 80 videos she worked very hard on them got better and got pretty good. We got a few hundred subscribers and made $0 dollars. What we got is a collection of memories that we can watch any time. Still traveling no more videos still enjoying life .

I appreciate this but before I knew any of it I liked your videos because you’re honest. I’ve seen huge RUclips creator drama before to the point where people were terrified as they were doxed or whatever and I’ve also seen the other creators in the same genre ignore the poop stirring. They are the ones I watch for that content. It is very obvious when people constantly push a product they’re sponsored by that is a product that is just getting creators ad nauseam it’s not about anything but pushing their name much like when Good housekeeping does “awards” they are only awards from products given to them for free.
I’m glad you spoke up. The commodific of the nomadic life in so many of these videos has always appalled me. That is not what the nomadic life is about.

It seems people want the truth and are glad to know your channel is providing it. It’s a breath of fresh air in an RV world where the air seems to be growing thick with celebrity. We had to shoot this numerous times as there is a TON of deer in and out of our site. Karri has been hand feeding them, such a crazy experience here in Texas!

I enjoy a lot of different RV video Bloggers. As far as their commercials go, I just move past them. For me, a good choregraphed camping video can be very enjoyable. It can take a lot of time, cost and energy to produce worthwhile video contend on camping and RV life. Your content is always fun to watch. Keep it up.
N.I. was an absolute disaster for us after being duped by YT influencers. Absolutely horrible. We promptly canceled but not without major cost after it was all done. That was a major force in our decision to not accept any collaboration with any product or service as a way to protect our viewers and not be a commercialized channel in any way. Even as a tiny channel, the product offers were coming in. We simply ignored them. We also ignore any channel that peddles ANY product or service. When money enters into the equation, that is when a channel loses it's soul.

another truth bomb, if listen to the Ramsey Budgeting show on youtube, you will hear about a lot of people that bought RV's that also have more than 50k in debt as well often. The first Ramsey suggestion is to sell the RV before it looses more value and to get rid of the payment on a depreciating asset dropping fast. Main learning point is do not buy an RV via financing if you have a bunch of other debt that you can not even pay off that debt before buying the RV
But what you say is true! My channel isn’t big enough for anyone to care or ask me to share anything. If in the future I was asked to, I would consider it but been with my affiliate links I tell someone to search for the best price. I do. I work online too and I also have multiple internet sources. I have Travelfi that uses all three main carriers and while it was really awesome at times, it didn’t work at all where I will need it the most… NASCAR races for my son. I came home and ordered Starlink immediately. I want to be able to take him as much as I can and can’t take so much time off. Thank you for how you run your channel.
My wife and I want to be full time. We are working through our debt to make the transition a bit easier. The videos lately have made me wonder, but I have decided these people are just fear filled and liars. How do they know people are leaving? How many do they actually know? Can’t wait to make the move to full time. The biggest hold up is making money on the road. Once I figure that out, I’ll see you guys out there!

OMG....this is like the 4th video I've seen with RUclipsrs talking about other RUclipsrs. Some have fancy editing and background music, others are chock full of sponsorships and product placements, others are bare-bones video of people having fun. I've seen some RUclipsrs who seem to have allowed their RUclips channel to be their main source of income. Let people live and do what's best for them. I started watching these videos for the RV fantasy they were selling, but by watching even more videos I realized it's not all sunshine and butterflies. And that's cool. Why would you waste another 15 + minutes discussing what other people do? There are good and bad apples in any industry, ESPECIALLY in anything dealing with entertainment. I get a little something different from watching them all, even yours. Keep doing you and let the others crash and burn, or FLOURISH, in their own way. Safe travels.
Because ignoring people like that does not make the problem go away especially on a platform such as this. Saying nothing has allowed these channels to overtake the platform with their lies and intimidation tactics. Now channels are fighting back to return the platform to what it should be.

My wife and I were Full Time RVers for just over 2 1/2 years. Although we did make some very good friends on the road, and we remain good friends with them to this day. I can say with all honesty that the RV life is not as great as some RUclipsrs make/made it out to be. And a lot of those big RV youtubers quit the RV life and moved back into a sticks & bricks, including my wife and I. I'm not saying we didn't enjoy RV life, at times we did. But there were a lot of bad times too that people don't talk about.
Great point and a video that we are actively working on! A lot of the big channels did in fact quit (or never were full time) but keep pretending to keep that revenue stream flowing. RV life has been great for us but we also set realistic expectations. May not be for everyone - you don’t know until you try 😀
I always try to form my own opinion on products and not just follow the herd and do what other youtubers say to do. RV snap pads, nomad internet, battle born batteries, etc....not in my rig. One youtuber changed out his fold down steps to another fold down step only because he was sponsored.....what a waste. Maybe someday my channel will grow and I become famous......but I'd only do sponsorships of products I've tested and would actually recommend, not just because I'm getting paid to. Maybe I'll run into you at TTO so we can "hash" things out😅
I really hate RV channels pitching everything from expensive beds, water filters, battery solar systems...all while not actually paying for these things. Some have had systems installed for free, that cost more than my trailer! While this is my first time seeing your videos, I haven't heard of this controversy. I wish I could find out who these larger channels are so I can be sure to stop watching. Is this out there there somewhere I can find? I am subscribed!
Great video. I used to subscribe to many youtubers on here until i see them start promoting things. Then i quickly unsubscribe and don't watch anymore. I know its all about the money and lies.
That was a GREAT video and you just gained a new subscriber. As for that other RUclipsr you refer to without naming names, I unsubscribed from that nonsense channel when he popped off about the last election (a video he and his wife promptly pulled as it began costing them subscribers). Unfortunately, I fell for their recent clickbait title on RUclips bullying (RUclips still recommends their content even though I unsubscribed) and then immediately figured out they were just being bullies themselves. I can only imagine how he bullies citizens while he is supposed to be protecting and serving. Thanks for the context in your video. This is one RUclips recommended video that was worth the watch today for sure. Best...
Hello from New Zealand, this is the first time watching you and I totally agree. YT is full of egotistical people making big money telling lies and using deceitful editing techniques, and they know it. We have a few here that if they were in front of the average kiwi they would be pulled up and punched for being a d!ckhead! The rivalry is real. Also the "mental health" card is the easiest and lowest card to pull when they have nothing else. Keep doing what you do and hats off to you and your wife.

We are hearing similar stories from A LOT of smaller channels being attacked by larger channels simply for the telling the truth. Sad, when honesty makes you the bad guy. I am not sure what makes them hate us so much - if it is the honesty or the fact that we have figured out how to grow our channel without them.

This channel is hitting home! Those "collaboration" channels are nothing more than infomercials. Nothing wrong with that, but the creators need to let you know that every video is basically a very biased commercial. A lot of consumers come to RUclips to learn, but just end up getting caught up in marketing manipulation. You big collaboration channels should know by now that the YT audience is catching on to you!
The tide is definitely shifting on YT - I think that these big channels know that and are scrambling which is why they are coming out swinging. Be on the lookout for buzz words like “positivity” “community” “support each other” this is so they can control their narrative. Believe it or not- the RV segment is so over saturated that the biggest portion of their audience is “aspiring RUclipsrs” hence all the meetups - they even sell to each other 🤣🤣
Just seeing this video now. I became a full time RVer due in part to these YT channels. Before I started out I went on Amazon and purchased a lot of stuff being promoted by these channels and much of it turned out to be just that STUFF. It either broke, never used or given away. Now that I have a few years experience I am able to discern the click bait and the sell. I enjoy some channels that are guilty of this non the less because I understand it is a business for them, but many are now gladly forgotten. I appreciate your stance and agree wholeheartedly, but you too are trying to build this in to a business. Same motive, different approach it appears. You said no advertising at this time, which means you are open to it. However, you likely for instance will actually use the product, lived with it awhile, liked it and than shared it. I am amused by the number of YTers that say they were sent a product to try and just taking it out of the box. They then shamelessly promote the product. I have one channel in mind that promotes RV security and mental health. Hmmm, are they really trying to provide help or are they motivated by the money? What would they say? I am okay if they are being honest about what they are doing, but I also have no time for the endless deceitful and insincere intentions of some channels.
To be clear - we never said that sponsorships shouldn’t exist ( you would not get free content without it) our stance is that any sponsorship should be handled with honesty. As for building this into a business - THIS platform would never reach the amount of money I make in my career plain and simple. That was never our motivation. That all being said - we would be stupid to turn down money for our content - we just choose integrity over financial gain. When we find the right company that meets our standards we will be open to it. Never said we won’t. There is a way to do it honestly- most have chosen to make the quick buck instead.
Nice to hear this stuff. I think this works in other subjects too? Like off gridding and politics. I’ve noticed more and more click bait like titles and wonder when they sell something? I also thought something was happening to RV life and thought it was true so good to hear it’s mostly click bait.
I hate the way some of these channels have just became adds for products. My wife fell for the nomad thing because all the channels saying how great it was and a real ‘game changer’. All it did was cost us $300 some dollars and could never use it. I don’t mind honest reviews but can never be sure if they are honest or not

I sold everything and am enjoying the freedom of RV living. I used to watch a lot of RUclips channels about the RV lifestyle, trying to figure out and prepare myself for it. As time went on, most of the channels seemed more and more like infomercials. I am so grateful for Life Redesigned! Great video! I was about to get Nomad Internet after the band wagon push. Made a two minute search and found it was a fraud. Two weeks later the channels changed their tone. As for the mattress, we have owned 5 RVs in 30 years and Costco mattresses and upgraded $30 bed lifts work just fine. As for $5000+ solar systems. We find two Power Queen 100Ah lithium batteries and an ECO Flow power station powers what we need for a couple nights of Harvest Host stays.
We bought our Casper Mattress from Costco - best money we ever spent!

Wow, I’m glad that you said it! About 5 years ago, the wife and I bought our first Rv and of course I wanted to learn all that I could so I started following a lot of youtubers to get information and as of today I am only subscribed to 2 and yall being 1 of them. The other one is from 5 years ago because they are genuine. Jut the other day I clicked on click bait for one of the big channels about internet and noticed that they were using the same internet equipment that I’ve had for almost a year so I listened to the video and decided to check out the service that they mentioned and the link took me to the same service that I have but not what they mentioned in the video and it makes you wonder how many just bought it without looking at the details. By the way, the service that I use is not that good when you get down to it so I questioned them on why the service was different from what they mentioned and they responded with typical bs. We are still looking for a good service without breaking the bank. Thanks for the info and keep charging forward brother. We think yall do a good deed so keep it up!

I saw that "walk in the woods" video and without knowing to whom it was directed, or why, it still struck a wrong chord with me. I'm glad I found your video. I subscribed to a lot of the big channels years ago when we were planning our move to FT - which we did 15 months ago and it's been fantastic. But, I've stopped watching most of them now because I've grown tired of them shlepping the flavor of the month (I too noticed the cyclical nature of them all jumping on (or off) the same bandwagon around the same time). Most of them were somewhat useful in their earlier days with some "how to" or "don't make the mistake I did" videos (never walk away from your wet bay when flushing the black tank!), but it all seems like it's about the clicks now. So, between the shlepping and trading a video of a tech's work for free installs of products, I'm done with most of them.
I opened my channel thinking exactly the same as you - let the kids keep up with us, but got discouraged by the smoothness of the bigger channels. Finding smaller channels now and realizing working off my iPhone for now works just fine.

Wow! I watched the video you speaking of. I commented that I did not know the drama they were speaking of but to be true to themselves and whoever was hating would benefit by starting their day in the word! But this shines a different light on things! I am new to your channel but it caught my eye and I subscribed as I liked what I saw. I have watched and noticed the whole click bait sensation out there and now I will not watch those videos because I have a low tolerance for description on any level. I don’t fault folks for making a living but they should not deceive people to do it. You know you look around the world today and it does not take a rocket scientist to see the Devil has got a large amount of people deceived. There are those of us that see it and those of us that don’t. I am glad that I do. I am nothing special but I do believe in the Bible. After battling stage 4 cancer and surviving and the my wife was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer which she survived as well, we have a different out look on life. Sorry for the rambling but you struck a nerve with me. Thank you for your insight and I am a fan of your philosophy appreciate your candor.

Thank You for your honesty ! My wife and I live in northern Nevada, where we live we drive 30 miles to the nearest town. (No Crime where we live) We have a 2000 Ford 350 diesel, with over 250,000 miles on it, 4X4 four door with a large flat bed and a 30 gallon propane tank, plus a 8,000 watt propane generator. We tow a 27 year old 5th wheel (28 foot) with all new stuff, lights, solar panels, and so on. we also tow a 18 ft enclosed trailer with our off road e-bikes and other camping Equipment.. We like to find old ghost towns, and there are a lot of them here in Northern Nevada. We like Nevada and where we know all the laws. . Yes our 5th wheel old but it is light (weight). and works very well for us. Oh yes we are 80 years young. I really enjoyed your talk. You have answered a lot of my questions about other web sights. There is no way we could do what you all do. We like to travel to Europe, (We have family in Norway and Scott land).. We enjoy our home too.

Wow! Just saw your video. I recently quit watching this 50+ solo woman who travels with her dog. She wears pig tails a LOT and I really enjoyed watching her. Her RV constantly breaks down too…but I liked her. Until…One day, she starts doing her own product promotions and tells companies have asked her to try it…blah, blah, blah. After seeing this woman change before my eyes, I couldn’t do it anymore. I refuse to watch anybody who has turned “corporate” greed RV’r anymore! It’s truly sad. I don’t trust what they’re saying because they’re paid and given huge, valuable merchandise to basically lie to us.

Not able to RV, but curious about the life, I did a deep dive and caught on to the same tye of edited videos by many Utubers who might not be directly sponsored by a business but have links to many products they happen to like. Then they have a video about costs of RVing, they can afford it with so many people buying their linked products. Many obviously started with money in the bank and aren't so humble as they claimed when starting out. YOU NAILED IT, NEW SUBSCRIBER.

Oh dam...you tell them Bob...I love you guys...I love your rant and stand with you 100%. What we are seeing is a microcosm of our society. You two just keep it real. Its funny how they twist the narrative and use words as weapons... classic passive aggressive. You just keep telling it like it is. They turned what should be just knowledge gathering or entertainment into a Grift...snake oil salesmen and they are upset that their game is being exposed. I quit watching that content from those "scripted" channels a year ago...I had pretty much figured out they communicated with each other for the latest craze cause they all changed there grift in unison...from mattresses to e-bikes to internet providers.

Best video ever! I stopped watching so many self serving channels because of the lies and cheap product promoting. One couple showed their starlink being thrown in a dumpster. This was so they could promote nomad which was clearly a lie of a company. I called them out on it immediately after watching the nomad video and their next video showed them taking the star link out of the dumpster. I guess what was so maddening is that they didn't provide any apology and a promise to do better. Thanks for providing clarity on how we are taken advantage of by the people we have trusted.

Thank you, truth is wonderful. So is telling like it is. Wife and I have been camping since 1990. People need to realize that not everything that works one some people, may not work for others. So many times we get asked which unit should they get and we always tell them that we can't tell them that because we do not know how they will use it. My wife and I have been out about 9 months a year for the last 4 - 5 years. We travel around the country, see the sights, do what we feel or want depending on where we are at. We see all these youtube and forum tales on what is good and what isn't. We also see all these stories of how some were mislead or deceived in some way. All the while it comes down what some have not done what they should have or used it as intended, not how they think it should work, and some are a bit of unrealistic expectations. Some reading and research, as well as a routine would have prevented most of these issues. We know that stuff happens as well. Wife and I look at it as a part of the adventure. Some things bad, but most are good. Funny how a little thing called common sense and common courtesy seem to be lacking in a lot of these. It is how you deal with it that determines the outcome. Take care of it, learn from it, and press on. Wife and I enjoy ourselves. We meet a lot of people in our travels and most are really nice and just want to enjoy themselves as well. BOOM! Mic drop! Here is a small rant in support of your rant as a "consumer" of RV videos or any other specialized videos on RUclips. I LOVE your no-nonsense point of view of what I consider the "dirty underbelly" of RUclips content makers including how defensive and protective they are of their "product." Your bully example and the reaction is so spot on and could be applied to so many circumstances we have all been exposed to. I could list the large channels I have unsubscribed to that have changed for the worse as they have become so commercialized that they have lost their unbiased charm. I am mixed on accepting sponsorships or revenue from promoting products even though once a channel turns to promotions they always change. As a consumer, we do want an honest review of products related to what our interests are and RV'rs using the products in the real world should be the best test. But, I have seen it many times when a new product comes out and nearly every RV RUclipsr has that product and are either promoting it or "testing" it. I realize they are all getting paid in some way to do this and over time, I just can't trust anything they say. I am also a fisherman and for many years I have followed professional Bass Fisherman who do nothing but promote products. I really hate when they are using a Ranger boat and claim it's the best boat ever made. Then down the road they are in a Skeeter boat and it's the best boat ever made! It is laughable and I discovered that we have ALL been suckers over our lifetimes as we have been fed advertising through many methods. That is just how our markets works, but it has changed in the world of social media as we humans don't like being called out for participating in the "snake oil" reviews and then using their fighting words to deny the truth. Ok, nobody reads more than 3 or 4 lines, so I have overstayed my welcome here. I could not agree with you more and have only been a sub for a short time. Just keep doing you and don't change a thing.

Honestly being an introvert is interesting with this lifestyle. It can go both ways. You can have times where you feel as though “finally I am left alone” and other times where you are forced to be part of something bigger than yourself (in a good way)
It is crazy to us that 17 years in the same neighborhood and we barely spoke to our neighbors, yet every RV park or campground we go to people are overwhelmingly friendly and want to socialize lol
My wife and I start our full time rv life next week. My wife is a travel nurse, and we thought this was best way. I found y’all a few days ago. Like y’all’s honesty. Thanks for keeping us on the lookout for snake oil salesmen.

I always try to tell the truth too, and sometimes get my posts removed when I point out a cheaper or more effective alternative to the overpriced product being hawked. If you threaten another person's livelihood, even unintentionally or indirectly, expect retaliation. It's par for the course and the price of freedom. We love your channel and recognize any criticism of it for the obvious motivations behind them. Just remember that no good deed goes unpunished. The fact that you would show up on their radar and elicit a response is a feather in your cap. You don't get flack unless you're over the target. I suggest you release your payload - not as a matter of spite or malice, but of altruistic public service. For what profiteth a man if he gains the world, but lose his immortal soul?
First I'm not an RVER, I watch different channels and have subbed to no one. While watching a very big RVER review channel they posted the MSRP along with other statistics of the RV they were reviewing. When they announced the MSRP it was higher than the published price. I e-mailed them a few times informing them but never heard back. I'd say in the last 2 or 3 months it has not happened. Are they phony or not I have no clue but I take their prices with a grain of salt. As you stated in your video it's true, there are good and bad and lots are on here for the money only. People need to stop listening to what everyone else is saying or doing. You do you and forget about everyone else. People have and will forever quit RV life when they are done with it while others begin their RV life. It has happened for ever and a day and will continue to happen. I have been at it for seven years and I am not quitting any time soon.
Right on! My viewing came from an email claiming RV channel apocalypse, but it was simply you taking the high road and calling out the bully, and the other taking the low road to save subscribers and make more money. I subscribed to you. Keep up the pure honesty, as we all need honesty.

Wow, that was really refreshing!! I just want to watch videos that teach a newb like me, not suddenly hear how, "Everyone," is quitting after we just made a big investment. We do march to our own beat and will only do what speaks to us, whether "Everyone" is doing in or not. It's as you stated the dishonesty of it all. Way to lay it out on the table. I’ve click more than my share of “Quitting” videos. Fortunately, I am smart enough to understand there will be a natural ebb and flow of RV folks doing their thing. For many people, full time just isn’t sustainable. Life turns on a dime.
We haven’t begun our journey yet because we moved back home to take care of our elderly moms. When they are gone, we hope to travel for awhile but we know our full time journey will be finite (3 - 5 years possibly?).
Whatever our plans, the saying, “Man plans. God laughs” couldn’t ring more true.
Many folks jumped on the band wagon post COVID. Many of the rigs bought back then are now for sale.

Great Vid! I was also approached by "nomad internet" (not for 800 a vid lol). They offered me free unit, $35 per signup, and free internet for life after 5 signups. I turned it down. We were happy with Starlink and I wasn't into spamming my few subscribers. It is sad to watch some of your favorite RUclipsrs develop huge ego's, spam their subscribers and delete any comment they don't like. I mean it's fine to have a sponsor or have links to real products on amazon and such you love. But some have just become infomercials. I seen a big channel a while back, scream murder because RV parks wouldn't exchange free stays for Positive Video reviews. One canceled on them and they did multiple vids on it bashing them, showing confidential email and such. These people loose a grip on Reality. They are now not nomadic anymore I suppose cause they didn't want to pay for stays like the rest of us. Anyways I could go on and on. Keep making real content! Love it...

I've noticed most RV and van life channels tend to sell a dream to people working in office cubicles.
Wow. Had to go find that other video. The hat and glasses were awesome. Maybe you can have your logo on both moving forward. You really should have gone for a walk in the woods. You forgot a few famous quotes. We personally think that walking couple are scammers.
Keep up the honest video's, as honesty and truth prevail. If it was me, I would go to the RV show and watch them squirm.

Oh the stories I could tell about being in Orlando when our Nomad Internet video went live and being surrounded by those very RUclipsrs that are part of their group - funny how they all praised us for telling it straight … well to our faces 🤣🤣

I now know who you're talking about and I am/was a sub to most of the "big channels" If I have to have AG1 drink, RV mattress, Snap pads, internet or anything else shoved in my face one more time!🙄 I thank you for just telling it like it is. In the words of the great philosopher Mike Tyson, "Everyone has a plan, until they get punched in the face." I now tend to just sub to channels like yours. If a channel just has something to sell you... I just pass. I'm not full time just a weekend warrior but I still like to see what the full timers do, other than sell you stuff!😄

My wife and I traveled full time we put out around 80 videos she worked very hard on them got better and got pretty good. We got a few hundred subscribers and made $0 dollars. What we got is a collection of memories that we can watch any time. Still traveling no more videos still enjoying life .

I appreciate this but before I knew any of it I liked your videos because you’re honest. I’ve seen huge RUclips creator drama before to the point where people were terrified as they were doxed or whatever and I’ve also seen the other creators in the same genre ignore the poop stirring. They are the ones I watch for that content.
It is very obvious when people constantly push a product they’re sponsored by that is a product that is just getting creators ad nauseam it’s not about anything but pushing their name much like when Good housekeeping does “awards” they are only awards from products given to them for free.
Well done. Finally figured out that most out there are all about making a buck and you tube "fame". Thanks for having the balls to be real.

We had to shoot this numerous times as there is a TON of deer in and out of our site. Karri has been hand feeding them, such a crazy experience here in Texas!

As far as their commercials go, I just move past them.
For me, a good choregraphed camping video can be very enjoyable.
It can take a lot of time, cost and energy to produce worthwhile video contend on camping and RV life.

N.I. was an absolute disaster for us after being duped by YT influencers. Absolutely horrible. We promptly canceled but not without major cost after it was all done. That was a major force in our decision to not accept any collaboration with any product or service as a way to protect our viewers and not be a commercialized channel in any way. Even as a tiny channel, the product offers were coming in. We simply ignored them. We also ignore any channel that peddles ANY product or service. When money enters into the equation, that is when a channel loses it's soul.
Funny part about Nomad is that they just sent us a sponsorship offer 🤣🤣🤣

another truth bomb, if listen to the Ramsey Budgeting show on youtube, you will hear about a lot of people that bought RV's that also have more than 50k in debt as well often. The first Ramsey suggestion is to sell the RV before it looses more value and to get rid of the payment on a depreciating asset dropping fast. Main learning point is do not buy an RV via financing if you have a bunch of other debt that you can not even pay off that debt before buying the RV

But what you say is true! My channel isn’t big enough for anyone to care or ask me to share anything. If in the future I was asked to, I would consider it but been with my affiliate links I tell someone to search for the best price. I do. I work online too and I also have multiple internet sources. I have Travelfi that uses all three main carriers and while it was really awesome at times, it didn’t work at all where I will need it the most… NASCAR races for my son. I came home and ordered Starlink immediately. I want to be able to take him as much as I can and can’t take so much time off. Thank you for how you run your channel.
My wife and I want to be full time. We are working through our debt to make the transition a bit easier. The videos lately have made me wonder, but I have decided these people are just fear filled and liars. How do they know people are leaving? How many do they actually know? Can’t wait to make the move to full time. The biggest hold up is making money on the road. Once I figure that out, I’ll see you guys out there!
Exactly that - Fear filled videos so they can create clicks. Best part of that statement is knowing that a good portion of the top channels in the RV segment of RUclips .. ARE NOT FULL TIMERS! It is amazing what you are able to find out about these people with a few mouse clicks!

OMG....this is like the 4th video I've seen with RUclipsrs talking about other RUclipsrs. Some have fancy editing and background music, others are chock full of sponsorships and product placements, others are bare-bones video of people having fun. I've seen some RUclipsrs who seem to have allowed their RUclips channel to be their main source of income. Let people live and do what's best for them. I started watching these videos for the RV fantasy they were selling, but by watching even more videos I realized it's not all sunshine and butterflies. And that's cool. Why would you waste another 15 + minutes discussing what other people do? There are good and bad apples in any industry, ESPECIALLY in anything dealing with entertainment. I get a little something different from watching them all, even yours. Keep doing you and let the others crash and burn, or FLOURISH, in their own way.

Because ignoring people like that does not make the problem go away especially on a platform such as this.
Saying nothing has allowed these channels to overtake the platform with their lies and intimidation tactics. Now channels are fighting back to return the platform to what it should be.

My wife and I were Full Time RVers for just over 2 1/2 years. Although we did make some very good friends on the road, and we remain good friends with them to this day. I can say with all honesty that the RV life is not as great as some RUclipsrs make/made it out to be. And a lot of those big RV youtubers quit the RV life and moved back into a sticks & bricks, including my wife and I.
I'm not saying we didn't enjoy RV life, at times we did. But there were a lot of bad times too that people don't talk about.
Great point and a video that we are actively working on! A lot of the big channels did in fact quit (or never were full time) but keep pretending to keep that revenue stream flowing.
RV life has been great for us but we also set realistic expectations. May not be for everyone - you don’t know until you try 😀
I always try to form my own opinion on products and not just follow the herd and do what other youtubers say to do. RV snap pads, nomad internet, battle born batteries, etc....not in my rig. One youtuber changed out his fold down steps to another fold down step only because he was sponsored.....what a waste. Maybe someday my channel will grow and I become famous......but I'd only do sponsorships of products I've tested and would actually recommend, not just because I'm getting paid to.

I really hate RV channels pitching everything from expensive beds, water filters, battery solar systems...all while not actually paying for these things. Some have had systems installed for free, that cost more than my trailer! While this is my first time seeing your videos, I haven't heard of this controversy. I wish I could find out who these larger channels are so I can be sure to stop watching. Is this out there there somewhere I can find? I am subscribed!

As for that other RUclipsr you refer to without naming names, I unsubscribed from that nonsense channel when he popped off about the last election (a video he and his wife promptly pulled as it began costing them subscribers). Unfortunately, I fell for their recent clickbait title on RUclips bullying (RUclips still recommends their content even though I unsubscribed) and then immediately figured out they were just being bullies themselves. I can only imagine how he bullies citizens while he is supposed to be protecting and serving. Thanks for the context in your video. Hello from New Zealand, this is the first time watching you and I totally agree. YT is full of egotistical people making big money telling lies and using deceitful editing techniques, and they know it. We have a few here that if they were in front of the average kiwi they would be pulled up and punched for being a d!ckhead! The rivalry is real. Also the "mental health" card is the easiest and lowest card to pull when they have nothing else. Keep doing what you do and hats off to you and your wife.

We are hearing similar stories from A LOT of smaller channels being attacked by larger channels simply for the telling the truth.

I am not sure what makes them hate us so much - if it is the honesty or the fact that we have figured out how to grow our channel without them.
Let's just "keep on keeping on" and watch them slowly die as a channel. That's what we're planning to do.

This channel is hitting home! Those "collaboration" channels are nothing more than infomercials. Nothing wrong with that, but the creators need to let you know that every video is basically a very biased commercial. A lot of consumers come to RUclips to learn, but just end up getting caught up in marketing manipulation. You big collaboration channels should know by now that the YT audience is catching on to you!
The tide is definitely shifting on YT - I think that these big channels know that and are scrambling which is why they are coming out swinging.
Be on the lookout for buzz words like “positivity” “community” “support each other” this is so they can control their narrative.
Believe it or not- the RV segment is so over saturated that the biggest portion of their audience is “aspiring RUclipsrs” hence all the meetups - they even sell to each other 🤣🤣
Just seeing this video now. I became a full time RVer due in part to these YT channels. Before I started out I went on Amazon and purchased a lot of stuff being promoted by these channels and much of it turned out to be just that STUFF. It either broke, never used or given away. Now that I have a few years experience I am able to discern the click bait and the sell. I enjoy some channels that are guilty of this non the less because I understand it is a business for them, but many are now gladly forgotten. I appreciate your stance and agree wholeheartedly, but you too are trying to build this in to a business. Same motive, different approach it appears. You said no advertising at this time, which means you are open to it. However, you likely for instance will actually use the product, lived with it awhile, liked it and than shared it. I am amused by the number of YTers that say they were sent a product to try and just taking it out of the box. They then shamelessly promote the product. I have one channel in mind that promotes RV security and mental health. Hmmm, are they really trying to provide help or are they motivated by the money? What would they say? I am okay if they are being honest about what they are doing, but I also have no time for the endless deceitful and insincere intentions of some channels.
To be clear - we never said that sponsorships shouldn’t exist ( you would not get free content without it) our stance is that any sponsorship should be handled with honesty.
As for building this into a business - THIS platform would never reach the amount of money I make in my career plain and simple. That was never our motivation.
That all being said - we would be stupid to turn down money for our content - we just choose integrity over financial gain.
When we find the right company that meets our standards we will be open to it. Never said we won’t.
There is a way to do it honestly- most have chosen to make the quick buck instead.
Nice to hear this stuff. I think this works in other subjects too? Like off gridding and politics. I’ve noticed more and more click bait like titles and wonder when they sell something? I also thought something was happening to RV life and thought it was true so good to hear it’s mostly click bait.
I hate the way some of these channels have just became adds for products. My wife fell for the nomad thing because all the channels saying how great it was and a real ‘game changer’. All it did was cost us $300 some dollars and could never use it.
