GIRL! I was...let me show my country...HOLLIN'! Your junk drawer talking to you was hilarious. You are a brave soul letting us peek into your kitchen drawers. There's NOT ONE I'd let my own family look into not to mention social media. Out of them all, that flatware drawer stole my heart. I suck at cutting and measuring, but the most difficult part for me is removing the contact paper from the backing without it touching itself and becoming stuck. I am not kidding when I say watching you pull it apart with little effort had me very impressed. Thank you for sharing.

I did see some cool white wire baskets in the kitchen section in different sizes at the Dollar Tree that could work for you. But No Ma'am I was having a hard time finding the edges tooo LOL....OOOOH but the magic of editing LOL! I know I had one sheet that took me 5 mins I just threw it away and got another piece!!!!!!! Hey Charlotte I love my drawer system everything has held up well but in my two high traffic drawers somebody (no one will confess) has bent two of the dividers so I will have to re cut them. I did have a viewer to suggest balsam wood...the thin craft wood for another option. If those two sections bend again I will give the balsam wood a try. TFW & Big Love from the Down Home South:))
I think super thin wood that's cuttable with an exacto knife would be a better option than the foam. And, cover it w/your desired paper.... just a thought!
Hey Laronda ....where were you before I started this project???? I think it a Fab idea.....it would be more sturdier......when I redo any other drawers I will try the balsm wood...I think that's the name....TFW:)
Hey Bernadene I did love this DIY just FYI in the high traffic drawers the foam core board can get soft & bend over time...if you like this you can try balsam wood I heard it was a little more sturdy. Also I put my butter knives in a small container because they kept sliding under my dividers....I hope this helps & TFW...Smooches😘
Love this idea! I had made drawer dividers with foam core for my sewing table that has drawers, but didn't even think about doing the same thing for the kitchen only because it looks so "crafty." I love your idea of covering the foam core with contact paper so it would look nice. I think this is what I am going to do. And the "rails" so the dividers can be removed is a very very clever idea. Also, I wanted to say that I appreciated your comment about taking a look at how a person uses their space. So many "organization" videos talk about the thought process behind organizing, all they show are "dollar store finds" which, well.. i can just go online and see all of the products. I've been searching for a video that talks about the thought process of organizing, and yours did that. Thank you.

Hey Michelle This project works well when you are in a pinch & budget is a factor FYI - You may have to put your butter knives in a container they could slip under the dividers because of their flat edges (Mine did)...You could also use thin Balsam Wood for a more permanent solution...Thanks for Watching & Smooches😘

This is excellent. Just what I need! I need long organizers for long utensils, but I didn’t know how to keep them sturdy. Love the bracket idea! I’ve been decluttering since August. I no longer have patience for a hassle to find items. This will really help my spatulas and longer tools. So glad I don’t have to buy tools!!!

We have 4 drawers in our kitchen, one of which is a half size drawer and I need to better organize all of them so they can store as much as possible but my main problem is our "junk" drawer. I am so tired of having to remove 90% of everything in that one drawer in order to find the one thing I am looking for. After watching this video and seeing how well it turned out I am really excited to get started!

I had the same pamper chef recipe books. TFS. my kitchen is small too I have 5 bottom cabinets and 6 top cabinets and with no pantry I use the top cabinets for that kinda stuff and the bottom ones for pots and pans and silverware and still don't have enough room. so back to purging I go.

Kudos to you for one adding the contact paper. Two adding the bracket holders was genius. Why.? I did the same thing but without brackets and they had a tendency to move. Awesome, adding those next.

It took me about 7 hours.....the longest was the junk drawer renamed the "Catch All"...... & fooling with the camera. First time watching one of your videos and I enjoyed it. I also saw the one of spice drawer by Nikki and have done the same with mine. Such a great way to have all my spices in an attractive and handy way. Looking forward to watching you again.

I had the same pamper chef recipe books. TFS. my kitchen is small too I have 5 bottom cabinets and 6 top cabinets and with no pantry I use the top cabinets for that kinda stuff and the bottom ones for pots and pans and silverware and still don't have enough room. so back to purging I go.
Hey QponHoney....aaaahhhh the joys of having a small kitchen with little storage! I do stay on top of not bring little extras in because it does cause clutter & in a small kitchen that's a luxury we don't have.....Thank you for your comment, watching & Smooches:)

Kudos to you for one adding the contact paper. Two adding the bracket holders was genius. Why.? I did the same thing but without brackets and they had a tendency to move. Awesome, adding those next.

You already know what my drawers look like....lol. Actually....I did get around to organizing 2 of them, and to be honest I love opening those drawers. They bring me so much joy. You have given me the extra motivation I need to complete the job. How long from start to finish did it take you to organize all 5 drawers?

It took me about 7 hours.....the longest was the junk drawer renamed the "Catch All"...... & fooling with the camera. But do what you can because the end will come...so now on to the cabinets Wheeeew!!! TFW & Smooches my Sister:)
