Man, their last two albums have really been middle of the road for me musically, but I still have a strong fond place for all the songs you mentioned. I'm a 20+ year opeth fan so I followed Martin Lopez to the ends haha. I think the Lotus title track is my favorite no matter what. Monthly Artificial Language reminder rofl ;) Love what you do man, you always talk about the bands closest to my heart.
Cool video.. I almost agreed with every choice you made but paragon or void were my winners. Felt nostalgic and listened to each song and thought to myself: what an epic songwriting… I simply love this band
This is a fantastic video and a rant great video idea. Would line to see you do this for more bands! I mostly agreed with you. I love Soen but there latest album didn't click with me. His vocal style seemed harsher and I prefer his softer vocals. As with most of my comments, have another album recommendation; In the silence - a fair dream gone mad. 👍🏻
Thank you so much man!! I definitely want to do this kind of video with other bands even though the video didn't do too well because I had so much fun making it :) and I definitely agree that Joels soft vocals are much more enticing And believe it or not I actually know A Fair Dream Gone Mad!! I found it about a year ago and I seriously thought I was the only person on this earth who had heard it 😅😅 that's so awesome.... What is your favorite track? Mine would have to be Serenity (or maybe Beneath These Falling Leaves) Also, do you have any idea what happened to In the Silence? I wish they released more albums :///
@@inthedream9127 I actually do have news about in the silence. I follow then on Facebook and he is in the process of recording a new album it's just taking a very long time. The last update was December! Here's hoping it's released soon.
I really wish they'd go back to their prog roots. Lotus and Cognitive are my favourite albums from Soen, and I consider Lotus to be one of the best albums I've ever heard, but I'm afraid they lost me with the more mainstream direction on the last two albums. Loved the video format, by the way!! 🫡
Represent for prog!! :)🤘 Awesome new style of video man!!🔥
Edit: for a harder challenge, do Porcupine Tree ;) or VOLA😂
Cool new format, keep them coming! Interesting song choices, found myself in disagreement quite often, but that’s the whole point right? 😁
