I loved fishing for sunfish, bluegills, and Rio Grande Perch (Texas Cichlid) as a kid. Sometimes I would just use a hook, split shot and handline or maybe a willow branch and catch fish until I was tired of catching them. I remember teaching my kids how to find and catch worms, crickets, grasshoppers and whatever else we could find for bait and having a blast. Too many times I think we forget how the simple things can mean so much.
Its refreshing to mix it up with some fresh water sometimes eh? Cool video!
That’s the most relaxing way to fish, more fun then catching snapper by the rigs! Love it!
One thing that I failed to mention to ya in the last comment I made regarding our Ozarks vacation was the guide supplied very fine fly-fishing equipment in the way of a Sage 3 wt nymphing rod,runs about $1000 and the guide explained that the Sage 3 wt nymphing rod has four wt in the reel section and 3 through-out most of the rod and feisty rainbows bend that rod about double,extremely fun way of fighting fish.Have an 8 wt Uglly Stik flyrod that my parents gave me ton of years ago,got a few hand-made flies that I showed our guide and gonna target some reds and specks with dat set up!!Got a buddy joining me at this Th's CCA NShore Banquet who is very accomplished at tossing flies and clousers at specks and reds!!!

Pretty great impromptu set up for a swim by video, that was great. I always bring an ultra lite set up, and it's been a long time since I've been skunked. I am getting some of those small chatter baits for sure!

I like that bait. I been fishing with my friend and we haven’t been able too get on the crappie or blue gill. We catch 3 and they just stop biting. It’s been tough
Check out the ozark trail baby swimmer in the smoke silver flake color next time your at wally world , i've been tearing them up on that bait.
The Spoiler Shad was killer on both sac a lait and bass,been quite a while since I have had the chance to wet a line-had boat issues and might just launch de ole canoe at 3 Rivers Rd,great access to lower parts of T-Funky somewhat away from crowds,though NOT on week ends!!
