      +dablocishot77 he said in an older video he hates giving stuff up for free and it was just a smidgen compared to this. I guess he is feeling charitable. Most trainers just talk cursory info then behind clothes doors get into the science

      Isnt that the truth. 15 years ago when i started performing career development in Cellular Engineering for free for young brothas and other alike. I couldnt get anyone to take the training serious. An OG 50 yo statemen on the basketball court told me one night. They dont value it because they dont invest it. I said this is how i give back. I thought he was crazy. I was doing well but trying to give my homies fire liek promethus. About 6 months later i started charging 5-10 stacks a head. on.. II nnever looked back. I appreciate FREE game... I understand someone down the line had to go through alot of blood sweat , tears , trial and error to learn the lesson

  • @sanctusdeuscruor6219

    Ellie has a weird obsession with fast hands,smh! Its a great attribute to have but Boxing IQ is alot more important. Khan, Judah, Berto, R.Jones, Gamboa, Pacquiao all got KTFO by guys with slower hand speed. Great to have it but using it wisely with "solid basic fundamentals" is what makes great hand speed truly effective. I'd take Loma's ring IQ over G.Russell's hand speed anyday.

    • @b3at2
      @b3at2 9 лет назад +9

      +SanctusDeus Cruor True....but when you are as smart as floyd..and fast as floyd.. no one can beat you.

    • @sanctusdeuscruor6219
      @sanctusdeuscruor6219 9 лет назад +2

      JRLM Cant say I full agree with the Floyd analogy, no such thing as an unbeatable fighter, besides Floyd was on the recieving end of an extremely favorable decision vs Castillo in their 1st fight, lets not try and blot out the sun with a thumb. Lets be honest, in order to beat Floyd we all would have to agree that his opponent has to do it convincingly if he were to claim his title, right? Did Floyd actually beat Castillo in that first fight convincingly to take his title? In reality no, (boxing & its fans create double standards when it suits them) I've never subscribed to that undefeated record, on paper he's undefeated, he's still an ATG regardless IMO, I just dont see him as never have been beaten.

    • @b3at2
      @b3at2 9 лет назад +3

      +SanctusDeus Cruor if the Castillo fight was a street fight then floyd lost.. same with maidana.. but boxing is based on rounds won.. Castillo hit floyd more times in that fight than floyd hit him.... so in a regular fight Castillo won.. but Castillo did the win the most rounds. you sound like you understand boxing. I don't need to say anymore.

    • @Noisehead101
      @Noisehead101 9 лет назад +2

      +SanctusDeus Cruor Indeed. As they say, great timing beats speed. It's a reason why i think a guy like Danny Garcia would beat Khan any day of the week. I don't think Garcia is great but one thing he possesses is great timing and i think has a good boxing brain. If anyone thinks he caught Khan with a lucky shot, then boxing isn't for them. Danny was starting to time that shot from the second round once he was figuring out Khan's rhythm. Khan fights in a very obvious rhythm and doesn't possess a high IQ in the ring so for a guy like Garcia who knows he can't beat Khan for speed, he can bide his time and figure out his timing then start throwing the shot. Manny is another guy who fights in rhythm, but you need a guy smart enough to work it out and use his rhythm against him like Marquez could. If you can't figure out the rhythm within the speed, the speed will fluster you and kill you. If you're a very smart fighter who can think under pressure, then you can use it against them. Actually all those guys you listed, although different shared similarities in that respect, except maybe Roy Jones who had no obvious rhythm to his boxing, i think his knockouts come after too much jumping around in weights such as going up to HW and coming down etc.

    • @HDsharp
      @HDsharp 8 лет назад

      Fast hands gives you an edge, other factotrs can be learnt easy if you're willing to learn it, fast hands is either a technique or youre just born with it, its harder to acquire.

    I don't think you all can appreciate how much of a GENIUS this man is when it comes to boxing!!! I mean, that analysis was so astute . . . I would love to see him in the corner of a talent like Errol Spence. As awesome as Andre Ward is, Andre said it himself, he's not a gifted type of fighter. He just out works and out thinks his opponents. what I wouldn't give to see Virgil instill his wisdom into a young lion like Spence who is humble enough to receive what he has to give him. Spence would dominate the lower weight classes like no one has since Robinson. That's a fact!

      Holloman Kas I'll concede that to you. Paulie definitely maximized his potential. He certainly had less to work with than Andre but at least Paulie could rely on his speed to outclass and outbox his opponents, which allowed him to compensate for his lack of punching power and win on points. Ward has never been the fastest or hardest hitting fighter in his weight class. He simply out thinks and out works his opponents. Certainly, he has more tools to work with than Paulie. That point can't be argued; however, when you consider a natural talent like Spence who has decent speed, great accuracy and significant power on his punches . . . man! I'm just saying, if you added to boxing IQ of Virgil to that . . . Spence would be unstoppable with the work ethic and discipline he has. That's all I'm saying. I mean, his trainer has to be decent to have gotten him to this point but I think Hunter would take him to another level.

    One thing I've noticed about Virgil Hunter is, he's very calculated and observant and a historian of the game also he incorporates strategies of of what he may have read from books that has nothing to do with boxing strategy books , war books of great generals stuff like that maybe its boxing is brut science therefore a thinking man's game and once it's get s to be intinctive on to mastering more parts but gotta have guts

    Virgil is definitely the GURU of boxing! He is very cerebral in his thinking and how he goes about his business. The first time I saw the shoulder role, was in the late 50's. It was when Randy Turpin fought and beat Robinson the first time. Turpin was from Europe , so where did he get the shoulder role from?

    What Virgil is referring to is what my coach would call "jiving" which in layman's terms is playing possum. Though you aren't hurt you are conning your opponent into thinking something that isn't true at all. He taught us to huff and puff to appear tired but you really weren't. All you'd hear coming outta the guys corner is "He's tired!! Jump on 'em!! Next thing you know straight left, right hook, left hand - fights over. They played right into my hands...literally. Thanks for all the knowledge coach. Rest easy

    Dn Virgil broke it down. That's why when Beeto tried to use the Mayweather shell against the Ghost he got his ass beat mercifully. Had he just fought his usual style I'm not saying he would've won but more than likely he would've. Now I see why Floyd and Wars are undefeated. Basee on what Virgil has said I stay I doubt Berto wins but I know he is going to push Floyd to the limit. If Berto loses he's going to leave this fight a much better fighter from being in the ring with a master. Virgil's only error was that Lil Floyd might have started boxing at nine in terms of competition but Big Floyd started training him at age two. Also Floyd they say doesn't drink or smoke so he has hever been out of shape so after he throws his combo if he gets a rest he's right he gets his wind bsck. Manny got gassed in the championship rounds because he's a former alcoholic and Maidana has been shot and stabbed. Nobody has reeally had the wind to go the distance in tes of tiring Lil Floyd. I have no predictions forvthis fight. Obviously Floyd is the fav but I do know based on this video were I a boxer I wouldn't want anyone training me save for Virgil. Floyd said he's the best because he able to make adjustments. I think next up outside of Ward and Rigo that dude Terrance Crawford has highest ring IQ in tes of upcoming fighters.

    Khan had a glass chin and relied on hand speed.You can have a coach and not listen to the coach,which Khan did.The point is to learn, listen,be coachable,and win...This information is useful and if someone being critical can do better, I will watch that too...if not,it's an uninformed opinion...
