- We headed out to the jetties first thing in the morning. Right as the sun came up Ruben caught some finger mullet. As soon as we casted out we would get hits. The redfish bite was insane!!!

Thanks for watching guys! I apologize for the camera clarity but that's what happens when you get wet at the jetties and don't clean off the camera lol. I have some more videos that I still need to work on so please subscribe if you are not already so you won't miss them.
Delete this! Don't bag but 5.
@@larrytischler8769 😂 the fish were biting like crazy, didn't have time to worry about the GoPro.
Watch it again. Fantastic day. Found it down the beach going south just like that. Every cast a Hook Up
Was mixture of reds drum and mackerel. Limited out pretty fast. Then catch and release
All the stars were lined up
That was a heck of a day, days like that are what we wish for.
The guy pulling your fish in is a maniac
Lol that was me practicing for the Billfish tournaments. 😂
Awesome! Haha
@@harrisoncarter9187 lol accidentally got tangled in my Ruben's line so I had to hand line it in. Thanks for watching!
This was so epic. Being on the jetty and seeing everyone hooked up at the same time was insane
Yeah it was crazy. Pretty much as soon as you would throw a bait in the water you would get a hit.
Pretty decent haul.
Thank you ma'am, glad you enjoyed the video.
Dam! Non stop Redfish jetty action!
As soon as you would cast out you would get a hit it was crazy. Lots of people limited out.
Matt's Saltwater Fishing COME ON REDS!
You guys are great really get excited to watch the action!drove down Saturday to see there were more fisherman than mullet!found fish at area51! Bite was slow but meat in freezer!whataburger on me!keep hookin!postin!
Yeah I heard late last week that the jetties slowed down. Glad you got some at area 51! Pretty soon those Bull Reds will start showing up, I'm really looking forward to that.
Keep us posted get your pop out and hook him up!
@@chriscothren8170 yeah he wants to go for some Bull Reds, hopefully that cold front coming will get the Bull Reds fired up.
looks like a fun fishing time - new friend here
It sure was we had a blast! It was definitely a little bit more crowded than usual but everyone was catching fish having a good time.
So envious from being there 3 weeks ago😩😩😩. Just so happy for y’all man what an awesome day. Don’t sweat the video clarity stuff these vids are great!!!
Thank you I really appreciate it! The action was just going off left and right we didn't have time to stop and check the cameras to clean off the lenses.
Awesome bro. Hope you get some video after the cold front comes in.
Thank you! I'm gonna try idk if I will be at the jetties or the pier.
Do you have a video showing the rigs setups you use at the jetties and at bob hall pier?
We were using a carolina rig and a 3 way rig. For the carolina rig you put a egg weight on your main line, tie a double uni to your leader then on your leader just tie your hook on and you are all set. For the 3 way you have your main line on 1 swivel, weight tied on to the other swivel and then your hook tied on to the 3rd swivel.
Hi. New to fishing and have not fished there. Is it always that busy? And the best time to go? Thanks.
Yeah there is usually a good amount of people there. Hard to say when the best time to go is but imo the best time is when you can. Good luck!
@@MattsSaltwaterFishing Thanks for the info.
@@ralph601 there is a reason why they call it fishing and not catching just keep that in mind. Don't get discouraged if you don't limit out your first time out. If you watched the video and others like it on the channel you should have a good idea of how to catch them. Sometimes the Reds are biting and sometimes they aren't. Just have to keep at it till it pays off.
@@MattsSaltwaterFishing Will do.
Way to get in there and get those reds. That dude tried and take your red! Lol. Matt said that’s my red! Those waves were kicking some ass! Mickey Mouse knot! Need me to tie your knots Bro? Lol
Slaughter House at the Jetties.....again! That plate sure looked yummy!! Send me a plate and I’m still waiting on my invite!!
Yeah the waves were pretty harsh at the jetties that day. The 1st person's hook straightened out when I barely touched the line and so I got in the crevice and I had the Redfish pinned for almost 10 seconds. Then that wave came and pushed it under the rock. The 2nd guy that is like the 3rd or 4th time that we have tried landing a fish for him and his knot breaks 😂 if you watch 1 of my drum videos Ruben helps him land a Black Drum and his knot breaks 😂. If you look at how we grab the line on our fish and the line doesn't break, knot doesn't break and hooks don't straighten out.
Nice haul. What month was this?
Thank you, this was in September.
@@MattsSaltwaterFishing thank you
@@striketheiron6339 you're welcome.
Haven’t been to the jetties in years due to work but I will be getting in on that action next week.. what are some good jetty shoes? Looks slippery
Yell the jetties can be very slippery. Well I usually just wear regular shoes but wading shoes with felt soles or carbide spikes would be great.
While catching, was the tide flowing in? Also what were u using for bait?
It was an incoming tide. We were using live finger mullet and a few live pinfish.
What kind of gear were you using? Lures or mullet?
We were using Carolina Rigs and 3 way swivels. We mostly used live finger mullet and a few live pinfish.
Where did u get live mullet at..
@@trinidadgarza7986 at the jetties, finger mullet was everywhere this day.
What size hook do you use?
We were using 3/0.
Wow ok i got some leaders i made with12/0 circle hooks probably going to down size huh?
@@edz1890 well the hook size all depends on the size of bait you are using and the fish you are targeting. Since we were using live finger mullet and pinfish while targeting slot Redfish we used 3/0 size hooks. Now if you are gonna be using a big chunk of Horse Mullet targeting Bull Reds then yeah you would want to use a larger hooker.
Got it.... thanks for replying✌👍
@@edz1890 you're welcome. For instance if you watch my Bull Red videos at the pier we are using a lot bigger hook.
Dang man! Save some fish for the rest of us non Elite AF fishermen. P.s. still waiting on the invite to the fish fry.
The fish fry will be on the 6th Monday of October.
@@MattsSaltwaterFishing dang my calendar must be missed up because I can't find that date. Lol
@@RubenakaChupacabra 🤷♂️ maybe check again.
Matt's Saltwater Fishing Hahaha still waiting for the bull reds and that cast off finally got my custom 10 foot rod .btw my phone broke this tris
@@themaskedpeguin2698 They should be coming soon™ . PepeHands for your phone, I was gonna say you should send me a pic of your new rod, did you build it yourself?
Those fish are good for eating Matt?, they look edible..what bait you use mullett or sardines?fun fishing at jetties indeed matt.
Redfish is my favorite fish to eat. It comes out great fried, baked, pan seared and on the half shell. Yes we were using mullet as bait. This was an awesome day!
