    When you're deselecting the parts you don't want to be dForce weight mapped, you can also r-click>geometry selection>select by either face groups or surfaces, and then r-click >weight editing>fill selected and then choose 0 for the value. If the hair has separate surfaces or face groups for the parts you don't want dforced, that is an easy way to get rid of them quickly.

    Tip: sometimes you will not be able to reach all the strands to paint and when you sim those will fall off the head. If it happens, stop the sim and while they are still out of position (and totally exposed!) go ahead and alt-paint their edges. Then sim again, they should be locked in place this time.

    It takes a long time to run the simulations to check the results, but it works great. I'm hoping they multi-thread the process at some point, as it's using one core of my 16-core CPU 100% whilst most it remains idle.

    Tried this following exactly as you've outlined in this tutorial...did not work at all. The pony tail just basically disappeared or I guess it just fell down completely. I've seen some other tutorials on making non dforce hair into dforce, never seems to work out as good as if you purchase the hair that is made dforce. If you have any tips you can give me that would be great! Thanks!

      The ponytail is a separate mesh. As described in the video, you need to make sure that the base of the ponytail is not affected by dforce or it will fall.

      @@GameDeveloperTraining thanks for responding. I pretty sure I did that, maybe I'll try it again.

    Curious of if you would do this with, say, older hairstyles that don't have fine lines for hair, and/or don't have a skull cap. Also on it being long hair instead of just ones that have separate pieces or aren't in ponytails.

      Generally speaking I wouldn't do it at all unless i was really struggling to find dForce hair that I wanted. This vid is more just to demonstrate that it can be done and how if you're really stuck

    How do we save the converted dforce hair so we can you in the future?

    Can you make dforche hair to non dforce hair with morphs?

    • @GameDeveloperTraining
      @GameDeveloperTraining  2 года назад

      I'm not sure what you mean. dForce and Morphs are different things.

      @@GameDeveloperTraining hello, thanks for you reaction and your lovely videos. 🌸 I meant non dforche, like how hair was before. With some dforce hair I am totally not happy. I would like non dforce them. Is it posssible? Would it be possible with clothes too? Thanks you.

    • @GameDeveloperTraining
      @GameDeveloperTraining  2 года назад

      @@PaithanNL You can add your own morphs using deformers but it's going to be quite tricky on hair. You will probably need to use a lot of them to get the effects that you want. Check out my video on creating morphs using deformers.

    Great video, helped me understand what dforce is :) but I have tried the steps in the video 3 times, and every time my daz3d just says NOT RESPONDING or just sits there doing nothing, Can you help ??

    • @GameDeveloperTraining
      @GameDeveloperTraining  4 года назад

      It could be any number of things really. It depends on what processor you are using and how much ram you have in order for DS to be able to perform the calculations. dForce is still a very processor intensive system sadly.

      With the hair selected, in the properties pane, open the simulation tab and select "freeze simulation" the hair will no longer be simulated

    For some reason when i do this my hair starts to gravitate upwards, the hair sticks to the head nicely but gravity is pulling it up instead of down, any idea how to fix that?

    • @GameDeveloperTraining
      @GameDeveloperTraining  Год назад

      Best thing to do is check your gravity setting in the simulation settings.
