@@josepmcomajoncoses5118completely understandable, I wonder what sort of beast one could expect with a pre-sillage of the essential oils before adding alcohol
Unfortunately 2022 and 2023 formulations are nothing like it used to be. They removed most of the ingridients and all we're left with is some green, citrus and patculli smell. Luckily i still have a 2020 bottle. Which formulation are u making?
I have already purchased one million formula from creative formulas one year ago,I agree with you that its a good one and so close to the original, thanks Sam alot for this useful information , we need more like this we need as a beginners to learn from these masterpieces and legends
I'm glad you created this video, because I'm working on creating my own fragrance, and by looking at this chart for the base formula, 36% of it is Iso E and Galaxolide, the cheap stuff. I call those ingredients, "fluff" because they are not the actual fragrances. And, to me, that sounds like a good idea, because I don't have to use as many drops of these expensive essential oils and absolutes to obtain a high quality, luxury fragrance. I'm just collecting the oils, I haven't actually started, but this gives me a little hope that I can a quality fragrance inexpensively. Because if I'm only using 1% coumarin, and 1% vanillin, etc...I can actually sell my product and make a profit.
Im curious to know how much all the raw materials for this fragrance cost you roughly? And how long did your version last on your skin vs the original? Also any difference in sillage?
I'd be interested to see a video on dream spirit precious wood :) can't find the ingredients anywhere online! Been struggling to recreate it for months now as it's not being sold in the UK or EU anymore
Great informative video as always Sam. I’ve actually learned a lot from Felipe’s website. From certain formulas you learn how an aroma in a fragrance is created, like a tea note for example, or an impression of an ink note. By the way, you look different, more Adonis like I suppose 😉
Wanted to ask if you would consider making a video on how you construct it from the formula. I have some formulas and getting the trace amounts always throws me through a loop. There are plenty of free formulas based on GCMS on labtorium by the way!
This is one of my favorites as well. I like the original 1million Lucky though the most. They must have reformukated that version as well cause the bottle I have has different colored glass on the black side of the bottle than the newer version. Absolutely love it. Very sweet, pushes the line of feminine and masculine but I love it
Yes exactly, since it picks up individual molecules and naturals are made up of many so you have to decide which naturals are present from the individual molecules
I´m running out of ways to express my appreciation, Sam. Just want to mention, that your marvellous videos constitute the biggest impact on my perfumery journey since day one. Thanks a lot! Technical question, since the only raw material I´m out of stock is Kharismal Super: would your rather substitute it with Hedione or Hedione HC? (Fortunately I still have some Lilial and Karanal left, so I will enjoy these for personal use.)
i still beleive although some cloned perfumes are able to decipher brand or niche perfume formulas, there is one secret formula that will not be revealed to the public. This is the difference.
How can you ensure that the formula uses the same supplier for your ingredients? It's possible that your supplier provides ingredients of varying strength. For instance, if the recipe specifies 1% agarwood, but your agarwood differs in quality or strength from what was used in their batch, how does this affect the outcome?

I guess I'm a bit confused. You said toward the end of the video it was really generic and about 70-75 pct of the formula. A GCMS should be almost spot on outside of captives. Ive not viewed a 1 million GCMS so I'm not aware of the pct of captives, however w types you're under the individual bias of the GCMS interpreter. Without listing examples or analogies what I feel is being done is you're not only removing your own opinion and creativity out of replacements chemicals but blindly taking the word wnd opinion of someone else. Christopher Laudmiel has several publicly posted GMSC reports that I'm assuming are pretty dead nuts accurate. May be a good idea to showcase one of those in the future and see just how much that GCMS sheet may be worth. I'd personally be disappointed paying for a formula without seeing the original. In no way do I mean to take away from your videos. On the contrary , hopefully I'm contributing towards improvement of some kind. I absolutely love your channel and your willingness to impart knowledge to others in a field where it's very tough for a newcomer to get to meat and potatoes in their diy hobby. There is WAY too much vagueness in this hobby and you are one few bridging a wide gap for others. Keep it up
Weather they do in this case I’m not sure since that’s down to if creative formulas interpretation is correct. But fragrance companies do use each other’s bases to some extent, for example Cassis base which is fairly universal
hey sam I was curious how you learned to make perfumes? did you go to university for chemistry or what? I'd like to possibly get more into perfumes and perfumery and want to figure out how to do that
