After 2 years I still love my Mara X 👌🏻
Only downside is the squeaking leaver right after every back flush with detergent. This makes me want to use less detergent and do more back flush with only water more often.
Otherwise I love it.

Yes almost never use chemical for backflush. Perhaps once a month good enough if i remember LOL

@@morningcoffee1 I’ve bought a lub from my local coffee store and it is not resistant enough apparently. Right after the fist back flush I am back to square one aging.
So you mean that it differs so much between the lub from brand to brand?

I actually used the Molekote 111 once last year and since then its great.
I actually only do like once every 3 months because at cafe they do it everynight after 200 shots
Version 2 the mode switch is reversed ...

hi for V.2 i did not do any modification. but for V.1 i added walnut knowbs and handle.
use a walnut wood bottomless portafilter to match
finally added Pressure adjustment, it is meant for Bianca for it works fine so far on MaraX

I now own the Rancilio Silvia v6. Do you recommend me to upgrade to Mara X v1 (currently on sale) for better workflow and coffee?

Is there any duration difference while changing modes “X” to “1” for example ? You said that in V1 video , it takes 15 mins to changing mode
Hi therr i think it was like a bug in the program. Basically when we turn off then turn on the machine again indicator light stop blinking. This shouldn't be a problem anymore

What about energy consumption by these machines? Do you keep it on standby?
Only about 1250 watt. If you are planning to leave it for more than 6 hours then perhaps better to switch off

Yes why not, once you see good traffic then you can move this MaraX to home and get a bigger machine based on your projection

I don't think so based on the modest (home use) milk steaming capabilities, minimum for starter cafe would be Linea Mini to be honest. Pro-sumer machines are not built for the demands of a cafe. At the very least you would want a dual boiler, not an HX machine.
@@Joe_Andrus linea mini perhaps too expensive Joe. Btw, do you know even 2 group machines like simonelli, faema or few others with e61group head are still HX. Your local cafe may use HX machine Joe
@@StefanusGoana Sure, but they feature much larger boilers and have been built for commercial usage. After a few drinks the Mara would need to recover and also lose its temperature stability. The question was about the Mara in a café setting. And I just don’t think it would be a good choice.

Hi yes good point. Basically V.1 has the normal HX mode that produce stronger steam power but less temperature stability.
In V.2 you only have Coffee mode which is just the same as coffee mode in V.1
X mode in V.2 provide lesser steam power but by choosing this mode you just need to wait longer for the steam pressure to go up to 1.5 bar
About the software firmware v2 is it possible to download it?

I read elsewhere that Lelit were aiming to release a box that would attach to the V1 to provide the software update.

@@StefanusGoana you can purchase a new Gicar box from some retailers to upgrade the V1. Unsure of warranty implications though.
@@ediblemanager yes you are right. But the Card is not that cheap. You can simply wait until your curren card spoilt then change a new one, i don't think they still have stock of MaraX old card
