The ability to get the joints perfectly angled and hve no seems is incredibly hard. Ive built my shamisen over the month. It was a 3 piece mistouri sao and i couldnt get them to perfectly close together without any seems appearing.
@GrandTeutonica, thanks mr, and so, what is the reason than they insert a little piece of gold in to the sao?, is it that bettering the acoustic?.... thank for all, another one time :)
excuse me, can you say me why the sao must be divided on three parts?, what is what may occur if it is not divided?..... perhaps there may be a problem whit the acoustic???..... if you can answering my question i'll be so greateful....
@ascomate Oh the Japanese do that with the Sao to prevent the wood from bending, they're a culture of perfectionist after all. Some Shamisens have Sao that separate into parts and some don't. :-) lol

Yes that's right, it has something to do with the sound I think, I actually can't remember why :P sorry man :) lol
