Pro tip: use some mild reverb during your tone play to fill in the gaps and make it sound more cohesive. Roll it back off when you drop the tune but don’t do it too swiftly....nice and easy.
This works really well.... trust in @eternalmsoundschicago and @beeaudiophile :-) I also like playing each note twice in the next pass, then back to once... Or, any other way to make it evolve a little each time... As in, move away from basic loop
This is an item i'm gonna work on . Your videos are awesome and a real inspiration to keep practicing and try all the filters and settings of my controller .
Hello! I like your videos and the way you explain them. Very useful! And this video does not make an exception. Very good video! Now I have a question for you. Is Dj Control mp3 e2 Hercule good for beginners?
@PhilHarris , good day to you sir! A question: are you familiar with the Pioneer DJM-S9 Serato Pro Battle Mixer? If so, I have one with a pair of Special Edition Chrome Numark Pro TT2s :-) And I would like to know from YOU my good man, may I do all the hotcuing in my headphone channel on the night for the next upcoming track, when using the Serato for that channel???
hi phil im a big fan looking into djing and im looking for a good laptop to dj with i was wondering if you have any reconmendations im only 15 so money is tight so im looking for 500$ and under thanks!
Sweet transitions, good info, crystal clear presentation, a lot of fun watching, gonna give it a go later on my new controller Pioneer DDJ1000SRT, because my last controller had no pads, I have not had much time to play with my new toy, I am getting used to Serato too, but getting there, I am playing out at a pub on New Years Eve, many genres, a bit of 60’s, 70’s “n” 80’s and 90’s to up to date stuff, so far I’ve made a set consisting of 152 tracks, sorted them out by proof listening of my library consisting of 10,000 tracks, as you can appreciate it’s hard work to shuffle through, but I want the best and only the best from those era’s, and I want the night to be the best night for the crowd, I am an old school raver aged 53 now, and the music has not died for me, I have played out at many pubs, from SKA nights, Theme nights, and individual era nights, my fort’e is Rave and Hardcore from back in the day, and always will be, you will be the same in time to come, things can only get better, turntables to CDJ’s to everything we have at our disposal today. I am watching you closely now as the equipment you use is the equipment I can relate to now, I need to get more of a grasp of it, I can mix by ear as we had to back in the day, up faders, crossfaders, and high, mid, and low was all that we needed back then, the differences now can be mind boggling as we did not have the internet, let alone the software back in the day, simple was best with a spin back if you get my gist. Gone are the days when you just went out and played out. Nowadays you may as well be as close to a music producer as you can get, what with wave forms and beat grids etc lol, so I have decided to purchase your course today and take up the offers within as you are on the wheels of steel at the moment, just keep on rolling out those alluring beats bud, great teaching techniques too. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻🎼🍾 DJ AshTheBash.🏴
when you press your last hotcue point the track stops after that 1 note.... After i create the hotcues and set the track to play from that position, the track will keep playing nomatter how many other hotcues i have,,,,, that is to say,, i cant play the song any slower than the track already is, otherwise it will catch up with your hotcue swapping .... am i missing something please? does that make sense? why does yours stop?
Hi Phil - Just a quick question. I am using three different systems (Beatport, Tunebat and Denon DJ decks with Tidal - all three systems give a different key and sometimes different BPM). I am concerned music will not mix well due to the inconsistencies in Keys that are provided when songs are analyzed. What source should I be relying on?
Mate, thank you for this one, it's really something :) I am DJing on my first wedding this Thursday, so I will definitely use your advice :) Cheers from Bulgaria :)
You made hot cue understanding very easy...first time i understood its application... can u pl in u next vid can share if iphone can be connected to ddj400 and can be used in lieu of like macbook
further can u also clarify that why in my rekordbox only stored music files (primarily trasferred from external drives / USB) in my macbook can be played and NOT from itunes or wynk option given inside rekordbox software whn i comnect my ddj400
Right click on the column headers where your songs are displayed and make sure Key is checked. If the column is there but it's blank for the songs re-analyze your collection and make sure key is checked on the analysis.
