If it is OK to just win the Division every year and then watching the NFC Championship at home every year, stay with Dak and pay him the boat load of millions that his agent will be demanding.

    • @runningwithcat6195
      @runningwithcat6195 3 месяца назад +5

      Exactly. That's precisely the reason why I don't understand when fans worry about losing their "star players" on their 6th, 7th seed teams. Those teams will never be contenders. You have to rebuild, go through a few bad seasons and hopefully you gather enough talent to compete. Repeatedly trying out with the same roster expecting different results is insanity. Yeah, you might fail the rebuilding process, but at least you fail differently than the previous times. If you throw the same roster out there, you're failing exactly the same way you failed previously.

      Joe Burrow is 1-2 when his defense allows more than 20 points, the one win was the defense holding Mahomes to his worst career half. The defense has as many TDs in the 4th as the offense for Burrow. The defense has had 3 games where they made a game-changing play (Raiders, Titans, and Ravens) where Joe Burrow was bailed out. Dak has never had that luxury. Dak averages over 11 ppg in the 4th vs Burrow averaging 2.7. Dak has scored more TDs per game, a better td to ratio, averages more PPG, pass yards, and has a higher PFF Grade than Burrow in the playoffs. The difference between Dak and Burrow is Burrows's defense allowing less than 19 ppg and having 13 forced turnovers in 7 games vs Dak's "Superstar Defense" allowing over 26 and having 4 turnovers in 7 games. Dak has to play hero ball as he is literally the reason why the games were even close. Compared to Brady: Dak's defense has allowed 3 games of 30 or more points in the playoffs (0-3) vs Brady 2-5 where Dak has averaged 2.7 tds to 1 Turnover per game vs Brady averaging 1.7 tds and 1.7 turnovers per game. Dak is so much better in the playoffs than you think.

    • @Iconicdetailing

      @@jakubkamrad3092 dak throws so many interceptions on his own side of the field that he pins his own defense on their own 20 so yea they are going to give up more points when the opposing offense is STARTING with the ball in the red zone and automatically in field goal range even IF the defense plays perfect routinely. Heck one of dacks interceptions was returned for a touchdown. Burrow doesn’t pin his own defense in their own red zone so it’s easier to give up less points. It’s not the defense fault when they hold the other team to a punt dak comes out immediately throws another interception within the teams 20 yard line what would you like the defense to do .

    • @jakubkamrad3092
      @jakubkamrad3092 3 месяца назад

      @@Iconicdetailing @Iconicdetailing Out of Daks 7 ints in the playoffs, 4 have resulted in the Ball starting on the Cowboys half and there was 1 pick six. 3 of 4 of Burrows interceptions started on Cinci half and one was a late deep pick where he defense stepped up YET AGAIN to force a 3 and out. Does 1 pick really change the average allowed ppg from 18.2 for Burrow to 27.1 for Dak? Not to mention again, Dak leads him in nearly every single stat and has to play superhero vs Burrow just having to play conservative and not lose the game. Another difference in the situation between Burrow and Dak is the run game, which hasn't had a 100 yard playoff runner since 2018(prime Zeke). Since then, they are averaging under 65 yards per game vs Burrow having over 83 yards. It's literally been Dak, his receivers (2022 they were awful) vs the other team, his defense, and his run game. Joe Burrow is just a playoff game manager, and there's nothing wrong with it, but Dak is better in the playoffs IN SPITE of the record

  • @rons3634

    Then again, your elite qbs rise to the challenge, even if other parts of the team don't. On the biggest stage, Dak comes out small. You can blame it on the offense, the defense, the coaching, the owner, the waterboy. Maybe they are all bad in the playoffs, but that doesn't excuse Dak for not showing up. Does an actual good coach help him? Who knows. We'll probably never know.

    Sunk cost fallacy is as bad as the hot hand fallacy. Dallas has already learned the hard way about the latter...
    By all means let other teams give Dak $50-$60+ mil, the smart teams are already realizing that sinking cost into a guy that isn't THAT/THE dude is fools gold.

    How much more help does Dak need? How many more playmakers does the man want around him? I have never seen an NFL team coddle to one key player as much as the Cowboys have done, and they did this with two: Prescott and Romo. A great player makes the players around him great; not vice-versa. Romo and Prescott: great regular season stats; weak post season stats; greater paychecks; broke the bank. Staubach and Aikman: great post season stats; greater Superbowl appearances with 7 Superbowl appearances and 5 Superbowl wins; never broke the bank. 🤔

    • @HezikyahBlackIsraelite

      Do you even remember the team aikman had? On both sides of the ball? I do. I've seen every team after those teams do the same exact thing to win. Great running game. Stop the running game. Pressure from four.

      Romo? The guy had terrible olines, terrible run games, and terrible defenses every year, most years all 3 of those mentioned were bad. Yet you call that coddling? Lol
      Romo was fine in playoffs his teams were just bad though.
      Romo work Aikmans teams would have won 4 in a row. And with Prescotts teams would have won a few.

    There was an internal problem with the Cowboys prior to the start of the game that involved Dak, CD, and Mike, and it sent a shockwave through the team that players were distracted. Mike lost control of the team, plus, seeing his old team (Green Bay Packers) spurred a mental anniversary (remember, Mike said that he didn't want to talk about his old team leading up to the game...). I've been a Dak apologist for over 7 years now and i cant stand skip bayless so I'm shocked that i agree with him here. Dak is a great quarterback, and I'll never change my mind on that. But I'm not okay with continuing to have winning seasons and losing in the first or second round because "it could be worse". It's about superbowls and amything less than that is a waste of a season. Dak cant perform in high pressure games. Its not about the playoffs, which is why he played well agaijst tampa bay last year and failed to show up against SF in the regular season this season. Dak puts up great numbers in most of his games but when the pressure is on and he needs to rise to the occasion he folds like paper.
