  • I am not a Speech Pathologist. I am a person who stuttered for 35 years. In this video, I tell about how I stopped stuttering. Some of devices or apps may work for some and not for others. I recommend you work with a Speech Pathologist to help you with your stuttering. If you are interested in these devices or apps, consult your Speech Pathologist for their advice.
    Here are the DAF devices:
    SpeechEasy - $2500 to $4500 (speecheasy.com)
Smalltalk DAF / FAF Device - $1500 to $2500 (casafuturatech...)
Speak For Less (UK) - Unknown (www.speakforle...)
Here are the iPhone DAF apps:
FONATE DAF - used by a speech pathologist who stutters. tinyurl.com/4v...
    SPEECH JAMMER
    DAF PRO
I have heard that the Edinburgh Masker is still available.

I tried something like this, didnt help, you can get rid of stuttering but you need to work, reading , loud, voluntary stuttering, passiv airflow technique, costal breathing, light contact etc

Horrendous disability... I've had to take on the persona of a reclusive, sometimes, even rude individual, pretty much for my whole life??! I accept responsibility though, I should have worked hard at changing but instead I developed more bad habits that have facilitated a reclusive lifestyle.

Awesome! Dave is a great guy. He is sincere in his desire help those who stutter. I'm so glad that the Edinburgh Masker is still available. It may take a little practice to adjust the volume of your voice. Our natural tendency is to speak louder to hear our voice. This can result in speaking too loud. Practice speaking softer with a friend who can help you find the right level of sound. Let me know how it works for you as you continue using it. Good luck!

It sounds like a matter of relaxation. You're relaxed with your friends but your whole body is tense when attempting to speak to an authority figure. When we're tense, it's harder to speak fluently.

@@lespuryearcan I ask you a question, do you know speecheasy? It's a stuttering device that help stuttering. I want to ask my mum to get one, but I don't know if they're still available

@@Electrostatic_Fusion Yes, SpeechEasy is still available. It's not cheap. The price is usually between $2500 to $4500. I don't have any personal experience experience with it but I know it's a very popular device. Take a look at it at speecheasy.com

@@Electrostatic_FusionI use simple earplugs (specifically ETY earplugs) they always work, if I use one only (one ear) I stutter 70% less approx... using both, sometimes I don't stutter at all and sometimes I stutter a little but I would give a 95% less stutter...... they lower the outside sound a little bit and your voice sounds way louder... for some reason I speak fluently.... they cost like $20 at Amazon
