All competition cars are going to have ever possible surface sticked to be accurate. Definitely would have preferred a dif in the drive train - though it does work ok - And a better representation of the V8 firing order. Great review of the build, thanks

For the first part of 2021 this is the "go to" set about Lego Technic: price, solutions they found for the not huge pieces number and the look. I hope to see a McLaren on the premium Lego Technic set for 2022.
Great set and review, only thing I wish was different about the set (other then the amount of stickers, obviously) is that the engine cylinders were gray instead of yellow... easy enough to fix though.
This set looks great, packs a good amount of functionality (like technic should), and at a good price! I would pick this over the Corvette, and maybe even over the Jeep set. This will be my second LEGO Senna, I have the original speed champions one. Great review RB, I love the voiceovers! Edit: if someone can motorize this (which I'm sure someone will!), I applaud you!
Are you joking? This thing is packed with stickers... it has holes all over the place... it's overpriced... there's red and blue pins all over the vehicle... At least now I know, how the Lego fanboys look like.
Seeing this makes me wish they had included openable doors on the Vette and the Camaro (the blue car from the auto transporter set). I hope LEGO will make more cars in this scale soon.
From what I saw, I would only reproach that the 2 stud long axles at the rear are red and not black, as they still do both colors, in a black fin, the red stands out pretty much...
@@RacingBrick yeah but technic has plenty of non-playable functions. The lamborghini sian for example has an 8 speed transmission that's basically unplayable. Technic should have realistic functions , playable or not
@@Unbrickme well look at the Ferrari and all its "realistic functions" you get for the price... @@RacingBrick for the price, mclaren is definitely better than the ferrari I agree. Too much empty space in the ferrar. If I had to pick between the corvette or the mclaren senna, and I could only buy one, I would probably get the corvette. Sure, the mclaren senna GTR looks much better than the corvette, but as a technic fan, I prioritize functionality over aesthetics
I like it more than the Ferrari :| Good PPP, nice details for this scale, fits other sets, HOG-knob can be removed, good building technics, very homogenous color scheme (except the brown rare axle xD). At least one print with "McLaren" would have been nice though. I hope Lego will release more sets in this scale for a nice little racing team.
@2:45 I had the same problem in this set; in my case I'd used a 3-long black beam where a 3-long with one hole rotated should've been used. Searched high & low until that rotated hole needed to be used and I realized my mistake.
For £40 this set is worth every penny. For a budget set The designers have managed to capture the look of the real thing. I bought the Corvette and to this day it remains in my wardrobe out of site due to its horrible looks. Good review!! I'm in the middle about purchasing this set. I love the shape and the color of the elements. The lack of a rear differential is really disappointing. Even the new technic Jeep don't have a drivetrain. Will this be a sign of future of small scale technic models where technic functions are substituted with simple mechanics?? The swing door simple build is good but the 2 half beveled gears for a rear differential instead of typical differential boggles my mind. You can mod the set with a differential I believe and that take the value of this set to a new low.. i would think a 10 year old child would understand the theory and operation of the differential..
A regular diff simply does not fit in the current structure. Honestly LEGO cars having the same diff and a very similar rear axle setup gets boring after a while. This set has a lot of wacky angles and interesting solutions that teaches much more about Technic building than the good old differential. At least kids will see that there're other solutions to use as well to drive that fake engine.
I thought that the lack of diff will be a weak point for some but I did not expect such strong feelings... if it's a dealbreaker for you then don't buy the set, simple as that. It's still a decent build in my opinion.
