I used it this week for the first time. I am definitely a fan. It was the easiest tent i ever owned to put up and take down. My last night, the temperature was 18 degrees. I did use a heat buddy, and it kept the tent a very comfortable temperature.
It also rained the first night with high winds. The tent was perfectly fine as well. I will definitely recommend this tent.

I've had the T4 and T8 for 3 years now...I love that they are sturdy in the wind and completely waterproof. I have been known to tie mine from the metal pulls on the side to a picnic table when extreme storms rolled through...typically I don't even stake them. I've been camped in them during torrential rains...I had to take a video to share with my husband to show him how the water rolled off like water on a duck's back. The only trouble spot was at the doors where I quickly learned it's best to have the bottom zip up above the rain fly.
I keep my zippers "soaped" so they move freely. I have the 2 tabs meet at the curve so as to not stress them rounding that curve.
Learn to side step in and out of the tent as opposed to going in head first. This will save you from catching your toe and potentially falling like I did. 😮
I camp at state parks on beat down dirt sites. To clean the bottomof my tents when it's time to pack up, I gently roll them over, let them fully dry then sweep off the sand and dirt. Works only in dry weather with very little wind.
Another thing I do is to hit the corners where the velcro fits around the poles leaving tiny gaps with bug spray then pinch the velcro tightly. I do this around my shower tent floor as well...the mesh is big to allow water out but it also allows bugs in. The bug spray stops them cold. No joke.
Overall I'll never buy another tent because these will last us years. Best tents ever. I'm 65 this summer...Gazelle makes it easy for us to be tent campers for life.
Oh...last year I went in February in the snow in my T4. I slept in my camper van while my tent served as a luxury garage and a private bathroom. So dang fun to do. 🎉🧡🧡
    Great video...thanks!!!😊

I love my Gazelle T3. I’m a former rooftop tent camper. I mistakenly thought a RT tent would make life better. I may be mistaken but I don’t think they offered a T3 Overland when I bought mine. The waterproof bag would have been nice so I could carry it on the rack.

You mentioned the key component that we realized. You can leave camp set up in case of an emergency. Or just to hit the trails and come back and your all ready to go. Great Video

I am in the middle of researching which tent to purchase-being a single, 66-year-old male in great shape, I love the idea of an instant tent. Here’s my concern about the Gazelle T4 (which I seem to be enamored with): As soon as I purchase this, probably a few months later (long after return is possible), Gazelle will introduce the next iteration, and it will remedy the short removable rainfly that barely covers the windows. That would be about my luck! 😩

It has become quite a popular tent among Overlanders for the very reason you speak of. Their are pros and cons to both. One day I will do a video on that. Good info in this video.

I have an RTT and a T4 overland. Both have their respective good and not so good points. I do prefer sleeping in my RTT given the choice. Its always perfectly level regardless of terrain. I do like my T4 when the ground is level, but overlanding that is not always the case.

I returned two supposedly new out of box gazelle t4s from rei. First one was open box used returned item, had pin holes random places in fabric which if it was in rain would leak and straps were used and broken on it. Second one was a older manufactured tent not used, but had random pin holes in fabric through out tent, seams were in wrong places and had random holes where seams didn’t go because whoever was making it at factory screwed up, and they sold it this way without even repariring it? Also had old dried blood stain on window cover?
Gazelle seems not to do quality control or inspection of own products before shipping them to retailer to be sold? Not worth 300 plus dollars… and they do leak water if pinholes and incorrect seams all over material….. also ground cloth was too large vs tent to be Velcroed correctly to tent… big gaps in all corners…

  • @morrisyarnell6083

Noticed you did not use a footprint under the tent. Is there a reason for that. Curious because I always do as it saves the floor and if I manage to set up over moist ground it keeps the floor bottom dry.

Anyone who has this T4 Gazelle, are you supposed to carry the RainFly separerate or inside the carrying bag with the tent. I didn't notice seeing it with the tent during the bagging either on setup nor breakdown procedure in this video. I can fit the tent easily in the bag, by itself but have to wrestle with packing them together. If everyone else is storing them separately, it would explain why I am having trouble storing them together.
