- Now polls close within the next hour in France's general election - and there's so far been a record turnout - the highest for almost 40 years.
The snap election was called just three weeks ago by President Macron - throwing the entire country into political turmoil. And it could hand a parliamentary majority to the far right.

Is it too early to offer France a trade deal? We could call it the "Economic Entente Cordiale - EEC" or something?

It’s something of a moot point in a legislative election - but if this is a foreshadowing of Le Pen ousting Macron in 2027, a referendum may be very much on the table.

France national team doesn't really represent multiculturalism, but rather french colonies in Africa.
This is why people consider the UK as racist. Not everyone who is black is from Africa, you'd do well to open a history book and world map sometime soon. Secondly, skin color doesn't factor in France to determine how 'French' someone is. Clearly again, something you could be schooled on.

Hopefully the pendulum has swung to the left as far as it will go. Now it’s going back towards the right. Maybe it will stay more in the middle, but the current world situations may push political control to the conservative right for the next decade or 2. “Progressivism” hasn’t worked out very well that’s for sure, so the logical replacement for it is conservatism or even patriotism or nationalism, which people seek to protect their heritage and the values that WWII was fought for.
