26/11 was unlike any other terror attack. Unlike London 1980 or Moscow 2002, 26/11 had terrorists lay siege to three locations, which was unprecedented in urban CT operations. The NSG's operation and subsequent urban warfare lessons learnt are very desirable by other countries' special forces. Even if the NSG may not have the world's best equipment, they certainly have more on-ground urban CT experience than even the best units of the world.
This is may b just 5-8% of NSG what they allowed us to show in public..they've many secrets and training procedure which they can't allow to showcase..Thank u NSG..jai hind

Oh wow. The man himself. May I ask, at the risk of sounding blunt, which unit is RSTV going to be covering next, sir?
It may not have been decided yet but I believe, and no I'm not asking you to cover them (just suggesting), that the commando units of CAPFs have not been covered as widely as the army units.
Now, I know RStv has covered CAPFs conventional units (ITBP, BSF etc) but the bloodiest battle is being fought right here inside India by CRPF's Commando battalion.
You could also cover the foreign posting of ITBP in Afghanistan, SSB in Tripoli and soon-to-be-deployed CRPF in Baghdad, Iraq. (Though you may face some mortal threat. The situation quite unclear as of now, soo, scratch that.)
Also, I'm confused as to how many commando units does BSF have?
The only one whose name is known are the creek crocs. They specialize in maritime patrol. Your report on BSF in Chattisgarh mentioned a few secretive commandos. Are creek crocs being pulled out of the Rann and sent to Chattisgarh or is it something which will remain nameless?
Forgive my over-enthusiasm, I'm considering a career in the security forces seriously and want to show up at the academy with as much info as I can gather.

We wish our NSG commandos are well equipped with the state-of-the art Weapons, Communications and transportation devices.
Also we constantly wish for the well being of our commandos and their families. Whatever happened in 26/11 can never be repeated. Still India is prone to terrorism considering the Pathankot attack. The NSG's job is not to pre-empt terrorist attacks. Their job is to be the primary fighting force. Besides, the NSG's actual abilities are way more than what they'll show in documentaries. Unlike the MoD, the MHA has been very prompt in modernizing the NSG after 26/11/2008, and also learning lessons from Pathankot 2016
Awestruck. Way better to watch this and make schoolchildren watch as well so that they develop a passion to join the forces. Way better than Bollywood movies. Series too can never match this standard
Fantastic... to see such gadgets acquired by NSG. Back in 2008, they weren't having such advance weapons and NOT even in Corner Short Gun which was purchased after 2008 attacks I remember. Appreciate Govt efforts to understand the need of such precious soldiers.

+ps pv do you know NSG has two units Special Action Group (SAG) and Special Rangers Group (SRG)... SAG members are taken from Indian Armed Force... it is the main assault force.. and SRG members are taken from the CAPF... they are responsible to assist SAG.
example Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan... martyred in 26/11 was from Indian Army...
NSG is nothing but a bunch of specialist (commandos) from Indian Armed Forces and CAPF's to counter terrorism within the country... they are trained to tackle terrorism in urban area... rescue hostage... etc..
Maybe they are under MHA but you cannot differentiate mush between NSG and Indian Army... because NSG has also Indian Army personal.. Jai Hind.

Mini/Micro drones like Black Hornet Nano is kind'a new technology ,it was unveiled like 5 years before(2014) .
If you remember 26/11 was 6 years prior to development of this tech ..(2008)
It wasn't available at that time .
