Chris Hillman has always been a great player and singer.
This clip is in great condition better than anything else coming out of the 70's!
A natural progression from their Folk Rock days as The Byrds. Here they were in the late 70s brining a contemporary Soft Rock to their music and its smooth sounding indeed!
I would like to thank the Dutch people for allowing us to see this. I am also happy that they like our music, cool
When this album, no hesitation whatsoever. Beautiful Songs. Chris Hillman and Gene Clark, genius! Miss him
Chris Hillman es una leyenda .
You keep comin' back to me again and again
I think you want to love me but you won't say when
How do I deal with this longing in my heart
So wait for our love affair to start
Surrender to me with your heart and soul
Stay by my side my love will keep you whole
Surrender to me with your own free will
Say you will, say you will
You've got to give me some kind of sign
If I knew how you felt I'd have more peace of mind
Ain't gonna let you just walk out of my life
If I wind up a fool, baby that's all right
Surrender to me with your heart and soul
Stay by my side my love will keep you whole
Surrender to me with your own free will
Say you will, say you will
Surrender to me with your heart and soul
Stay by my side my love will keep you whole
Surrender to me with your own free will
Say you will, say you will
Say you will
Surrender to me, surrender to me
Surrender to me, surrender to me
Good song
Bonita voz de Hillman
I used to write popular songs on 'diary' calendars I kept for posterity...this is one of those song titles I had forgotten from early 1979. Wow. The memories came flowing back in. Thanks to TopPop for those memories.
Great guitar 🎸solo !
Great song from a great album
A great song with a great performance!!
One of the most beautiful guitar solos is in this song. The album came out in about '79 and Istill kept this one.
Rick Vito I think

I've loved Surrender to Me since I bought their album in 1979. Love the words.
@@rickbangkokRick Vito wrote the song.
I like the way they harmonize better than CSN

Great album
Ooohhhh.....takes me back. We were just soooo cool then.
The legendary Byrds in 1979. A great album!
3/5th of the Byrds....
@@Rickytwelvestring with about 1/100th of their previous ability still intact...this is just bad stuff...heavily-produced and strictly for $$$...
Thank you sooooo much for posting this!!
I've been looking for this song for years!! (Have the album, this is my favorite song.) Thank you so much for posting this.
Ramona Roffe Like many of the songs on the album. The one that struck me most, still does, love to sing along with "Feelin' Higher."
Awesome!
Awesome. Beautifully wrought instrumental at the end pleads as the lyrics do ( who is that guy playing ?? ).... and wow the orchestral tuneup at the outset.
That's Klaus the Klingon...on the ghe-tar
John Sambataro
This is a very odd video. At the start (after the orchestral tuneup and Mc/H/C come in), they're not actually playing those instruments. You can see McGuinn isn't playing, even though the guitar is making noise from somewhere, and at one point Hillman stops playing his bass guitar but the bass guitar keeps on sounding. I guess they were just lip-synching to a recording, but in an odd way.
The sound transmission is much better on this upload; but, I'm not enthused by the stage theatrics. Regardless, this is a beautiful rendition of a beautiful song. I very much appreciate the hopping bass driven melody. Good stuff, yes?
Lee Redick ___No
lost touch with Kathy Kessler- love you
Oh what a 70s Byrds could have been
Sorry about poor quality of video
0:30 lmao
Like this...but I have to say it's very, very far from the influential sounds of The Byrds
by leaps and bounds 🎤🎶🎶🎶🎸🎸🎸🎸🥁
Hillman is SOOO burnt-out...cocaine-eyes, no sleep...the end of the post-Byrds...great guitar solo by Klaus the Klingon...
The Eagles before there were Eagles
Nope
The Byrds after they were the Byrds. But it sounds very "Eagle-ish" ;)
Not live, but lip-synched.
1I love these guys but Chris Hillman is so icky in this!!!!!
I'm sorry, but with Gene, Rodger, and Chris being musical geniuses, I can't help but feel that they were trying to cash out on the disco era sound. I think this album would have been better, had they stayed true to their sound and their roots.
$$$$$$$ talks..... Why should they be different than any other rock band
@@patriciagullickson2046 That's the thing, they might have thought jumping on the disco train would earn them money, but if they made an album true to themselves it definitely would have had more of an impact, and probably do better that this album that didn't do too well.
Agree 1000% listen to the acoustic live sessions of same songs. So much better.
Too poppy for my taste. That changed with the addition of Clarence White.
Cheesy production and arrangements. They deserved better.
