    Real harmony!
The old master games are so instructive compared to the modern master games!
    So, go old school!🙂

Modern games are based on desintegration of game on calculable elements while games of old geniuses are epic and integral and hearttaking.

Very true. It's a shame a lot of new players neglect studying older games. These are the games in which principles became principles! Pure creativity! Fischer hated opening theory for a reason

At 16:38, best is Rf8!, sacrificing it, instead of Rc7. I believe that chokemate would soon follow.
Overall, good analysis, from what I've seen in ten of your videos.
I like the fact that you cover old games - everyone then put up a fight, sacrificing the pieces, instead of taking it to a pawn ending.

Awesome channel, the classic games have gone away since agadmator had a baby. You're the best. Give us some camera time or something though. You've got to have at least 3 special things to really grow on youtube these days. Agadmator had his funny mannerisms, knowledge of history, and famous player sagas. Ben finegold had the weird takes, dry humor, and experience. Hikaru just has everything. You should sprinkle some Azerbaijani spice on your stuff! Give dome cultural references, have some channel words and phrases that people can latch onto. Cheers. Ty

Interesting when you compare Tal’s positional queen sacrifices (such as have been previously published on this channel, such as Tal vs. Toran) with Smyslov’s. Tal from the beginning has an attack either ready or very quickly it is ready, whereas Smyslov was fine with having positional advantages (safer king, bishop pair, and f file control) and slowly coordinating an attack. Thanks for sharing both types of games with us as the variety is most enjoyable.

It's interesting to see two "intuitive" players use their gift in different ways. Smyslov has always been one of my favorite players as has Tal. When Tal sacrifices, you know mate is coming soon. When Smyslov sacrifices, you know his opponent is going to be defending fruitlessly for 20 more moves

What calculation! Do you think it was all calculation, or that Smyslov just intuited some of the middle game moves - similar to how some early 19th century masters sacrificed their Queens in midgame with no apparent justification, even to themselves!

I'm not sure, but I think it was a combination of both calculation (to some extent) and intuition.

Thank you for your suggestion. I'll definitely make a video, as soon as I come across an interesting game in which Black played the Pirc Defense.
