The pacer is possibly the best looking 4x4 they've made on the show.
it actually looks like it should've been that way from factory. I like it.
True! Way better than it was.
@@V8AmericanMuscleCar Only way to make it better would be a Pacer wagon body...
The big wheels compliment the large windows and the height gives it a more balanced overall appearance. Like a RC car scaled up just right.
@@Tuxedoz true
I love it. Lol
Why did you make me fall in love with the Pacer? Sits just right and it wheeled perfectly...well done
How do you not love the Pacer? It is a small, fat car with the heart of a Jeep.
Cool build! I like that you didn’t just slap it on a 4 x 4 frame, you actually worked the parts into the car, nicely done!👍
I like the 4x4 frame better. Too much unibody creaking going on.
I set a Gremlin on a Jeep frame (rolled over Jeep for $300)
Coolest Gremlin ever and very capable. Should have never sold it.
Gremlin had the right wheelbase for the Jeep, made it so easy.
I miss being able to watch MotorTrend shows from Europe
I once bought the subscription before it became crazy expensive

It looks better lifted than it did from the factory but it needs rock sliders and make some tow 🪝 great job
It must be so amazing to be able too build anything that you can imagine!!! Dave and Fred are so awesome and fun too watch!!
I always liked the Pacer, now I frelling love it. This definitely should have been an option like the Eagle Wagon!
I'm impressed with how easily this thing went together and how well it actually did offroad.
Best Pacer ever! Even the rear wiper works! ;)
Actually, a pacer is a good choice, great approach, break over a departure angles. It is relatively wide for its length which is good for side angle stability. It should also have a tight turning radius.
I just sent a pic of that rad ride to my wife yesterday and told her how much I love it. She wasn't nearly as impressed with it as I was🤣
nothing impresses girls except big money and big , ah , well u know .
That platform would make an epic street legal buggy build!
That junkyard is Heaven and the Pacer brings me back to 1987 when my mom had one....we called it the fishbowl
When he says " We're really buidling a pacer?" you can tell he is still slightly surprised but absolutely happy about it.
In 1984 I drove my girlfriend’s (now wife) stock AMC Pacer Wagon up the side of Little Mountain (a high mountain plain) from the valley floor of Rock Springs, Wyoming, up the trail to the top of Little Mountain, where there was a dirt County Road, and from there along another trail (basically, two ruts through the sagebrush) out to Pilot Butte until the incline was too steep to drive any further. From there I was able to take the walking path to the top of Pilot Butte, from which (because of its altitude) you could see the peaks of the Wind River Mountains, near Pinedale, Wyoming, one hundred miles away. We took that little car places it was never meant to go and it never failed us. 🤣
This is awesome I had AMC Eagle Sport had 14” baby swamper’s factory suspension jacked as far as it would go was a real head turner good times 👍☮️
👍
The best looking Pacer I've ever seen.
Now THAT is by far the coolest Pacer I've ever saw.
I never thought a Pacer could be cool, but you changed my mind.
I always loved the pacers just because you could do the quick and dirty 4 wheel conversion by taking a rusted out eagle and swapping it under a pacer instant 4 wheel drive
AMC Pacer will always have the great distinction of the original concept being sketched on a airplane barf bag!
Wait wait wait WHAAT!? You had us at the thumbnail! The plan for one of our extra AMXs might have just changed!
That Pacer looks right at home with a lift kit and 35s. Amazing!
I've always wanted to see a Pacer or Gremlin made into a rock crawler. Nice. Actually looks great with those swampers.
Sweet build! Lower the tyre pressure though.. pacer will be twice as capable🤘
You guys are awesome! Never fails to be entertained by you and learn something along the way! Keep it up!
Proof that us mid aged gear heads are actually, little kids at heart, Love It. Only thing missing was a Beer in the hands.
Thanks guys, glad your still at it and having fun!
That was the coolest 4x4 I have ever seen in my life! If I could I would buy something like that
That Packer is awesome. Good build
Should have been a factory option - best Pacer ever!
That Plymouth is badass!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I LOVE MY OFF-ROAD FAMILY!!!! SO MUCH FUN!!!!! A MUST-WATCH!!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
The Pacer my favorite Dirt Everyday Build … It really does look Cool out wheelin’ Thanks Guys
The Pacer is awesome! Love the build.
I would totally drive that pacer.. I would love to see it wheeling at Sand Hollow in Utah! Call Matt's off Road Recovery to come pull ya out of the sand too. lol
Now I have Bohemian Rhapsody stuck in my head.
one word (AWSOME) I owned a pacer as a teenager the perfect car if you have Great Danes and thick skin for the comments coming from other kids who drove Z28`s ,Chargers so on . But in school shop my friends and i rebuilt my mom 66 Mustang my dad wreaked and then i was okay . but I kept that Pacer for another 11 years and I kinda miss it and the education that I got working on cars that i had to rely on for day to day use. a lot different then project cars . and not something other family members where into .anyway thank you for the memory walk and great episode!
I bought my first new car in 1976. One of the ones I looked at was the Pacer. It was absolutely scary on the highway; bobbing and weaving all over the place. But I absolutely love the look of this beast. Its like Clark Kent turning into Superman. Absolutely amazing. Great build.
That Pacer is unironically gorgeous.
The new AMC Rally Fighter. This is the coolest Pacer ever made! The only one Ive ever wanted.
That is the coolest Pacer, I used to drive a pacer back in the 80's.
Love the fact y'all came to Michigan to pull this one off! It's not my favorite place in the world but I was born here in Detroit (mich ave and Livernois) and still call the place home to this day.
To car guys and 4x4 guys and gals alike, michigan is an awesome place.
I always had a thing for AMC vehicles ever since my first Rambler 660 wagon. I had always wanted to use an Eagle AWD or another 4wd system to convert a Pacer as they were a cool looking car, despite what many people said about them. Alas, I never had the resources (money) or place (shop with a lift) to do such a thing. I am sooo glad you guys did this. I was going to go with a 304 and an automatic. (EDIT): I am 64.
Love that thing! I thought you guys swapped it onto a jeep frame or something but no you built it proper. Even better!
HOW FREAKING COOL!! YOU GUYZ PULLED OFF ANOTHER COOL BUILD,,, PERFECTLY!!
Ciao, These transformations are really beautiful, you did a good job! Congratulations guys!
I appreciate the details ... like how the rear wiper never gave up through the whole show. YEAH!!
The Pacer is purfect! It looks GREAT!
That is one impressive Pacer, awesome rescue and built.
New life for the Pacer.👍 I wish one of my Eagles could have been lifted years ago. I also would have liked to find one of the Eagle Kammbacks. Great job.
Best looking Pacer I have ever seen
I loved the team effort on welding the rear driveline!
Paint it Murph mobile blue, sweet ride guys.
Mom had a Pacer, loved it.
One of the best things i have ever seen done with or to a pacer!👍👍 If it was a pacer wagon i would probably want to buy it well done!
I was surprised that you didn't hang the rear axle below the leaf springs for more height, get it up another 4-5 inches, and it would be perfect.
The AMC forum guys will LOVE this!!!
That's a gambler rig if I've ever seen one lol
"It's got 360 chrome wheelie grips, 455 on 992, injected blinker fluid, and a half block jimmy jack tube clutch."
Would love to see a DED episode with Paul from fabrats
I would soooooo daily this unit!!! Love it!
awesome build guys.. great work
WoW...🤩 That Paser is awesome...✨ Looks so good...😍 Please do more with it...👍
Bar work and maybe more power... I love it ..💘
This little beast is everything that I always hoped a pacer would be from day one, it looks so cool 😁
That is the best looking Pacer ever made.
COOLEST! BUILD! EVER!!! I want one!
I never seen a Pacer converted like that but I did see a Hornet. I had no idea that there was a Pacer around to convert. You did a nice job and I am glad that you had fun.
Just goes to show you that a set of big tires makes anything look good , even a Pacer !
Awesome build!
Awesome car built by awesome hosts 👏👍👊
Dude that is awesome I wish I could think of that keep up the good work I love the videos
Now that's recycling ! I want one.
Super cool!
I had a 1976 pacer I loved that car.... It was a nice riding vehicle.
Awesome Pacer. I wish I had one. If it had a heater, what more could you want.
You read my mind 2 just came up for sale in Johnson valley and I've been like hummm and here it is
The blue and white Ford definitely looked like a keeper from what you could see
Great build
This thing is awesome
way cool.....you have not only created a classic.....but given me some ideas on where to find parts.....cool. daddy-o....
sweet mate, nice quick built rig
You guys did a great job on the Pacer. If you ever need a home for that beast hit me up. I love it.
I love how in every shot the Pacers rear window wiper was on
I loved Pacers and Gremlins too.
The AMC TrailPacer. This is too awesome.
This drive train setup is pretty much what I want to do with a 88 Mustang coupe That I plan on replacing body panels to make it look more like a 1991 skyline GTR R32
Pacer on the rock's in Moab just imagine the looks on people's faces
I love that pacer
That was awesome. Go pacer go. Always root for the unloved underdog.
This is one of the coolest things out there
I'm usually not big on 4X4ed cars, but maybe because of the AMC-Jeep relationship and the various 4WD cars AMC made, this thing looks right!
Wow that is cool!! I'd daily that and wheel it on weekends.
That is so cool .
1978 we were rocking the pacer to pick up .... pizzza? So many giant windows!
So cool, pull out of shop and the Back wiper comes on…..👍
I want that Pacer!!! I should have never sold my 4X4 Pinto, the Pacer looks like a larger version of the Pinto. I Love it.
I fuggin DIG this thing. For real.
Love this thing
