- David Freiburger and Steve Dulcich build the Super Sammy-a junkyard-rescued Suzuki Samurai that they crammed a 440 Chrysler big-block into right where it sat in the middle of the junkyard. Then they take it out onto the road, complete with Roadkill style fires.

I do kinda miss their show but not enough to pay for that app
It’s $4.99/ mo. Hardly something to complain about
It's a great deal, tones of other shows for 5$ mo,
$5 here $5 there and it all gets expensive
@@2clappedout477 The only other good show is Dirt Every Day. The rest I have no interest in.
More than enough good channels on RUclips to pay $5 a month for this. I was a faithful watcher when it was free.
Since they left RUclips and went behind a paywall, haven't watched. Seeing this i hope Freiburger is OK, seems to have aged a lot in a couple of years, and he's one of the most entertaining and knowledgable car personas on any media. Massive shame they killed off the classic Freiburger and Finnegan show on RUclips.
True!!
wat happened to him
@@pilsmon he died
Yeah this really seems like a bastardized version of a once great show. I think it’s the weird TV show editing that does it.
As a former motor trend subscriber, they're both okay but the content is what most of their cars are, just junk.. Trash, not worth the fee whatsoever
Remember when RUclips had complete Roadkill episodes
Pepperidge Farm Remembers
That salvage yard 😍
I want to move there. Not to that area - but literally to that junkyard. I would live in that two-story van sculpture. It would be awesome.
I love that one of my favorite mechanic RUclips channels is commenting on this
Just finished your episode Eric, keep up the good work! 👍
Honeyhole
What a cool place!
I have really missed your Junk Yard builds. Thank you for this episode ❤
Hello Eric, how are you doing?
My mom wanted to do a burn out so bad, so I did the same I cut the rear brake lines to her car. Can't wait for her to try it tomorrow.👌🏻✌️
Bro
😂😂🤣
I want to ask a lot of questions....... But I think I'll just wait for the 6 o'clock news . And umm well may the odds be ever in her favor.
You have a cool mom
put a nail in the back lines,but?..whatever gets ya there
Funny how they bringing these episodes back
So glad to see you still using my Grandfather's Tow Truck.
This episode of roadkill made me fall in love with the Samurai. First fixing my e30 and then for sure I’m getting myself a Samurai 😍
Miss the show / miss Finnegan / ain't paying to watch it.
He's got his own RUclips channel
Cant even pay for it outside US. Company is ran by headless morons.
My dad did this to a 1969 Datsun pickup, I loved that truck as a kid.
That was back in 1971
I am amazed at the knowledge and skill to do all that initial work on the ground in the yard!
Nowhere near the charm, fun and chaos of the original series. Guess it doesn't matter that it's not available... Would not pay for this anyway.
Was just thinking the same thing after watching this episode... nope... first "generation" Roadkill had more class & adventures..
Its funny you guys say that cuz this episode is like 3 years old
@@TalkTime4 It's still made after they stopped posting on RUclips and went under the big (boring) umbrella. Part of what made the show good was the small team having fun instead of "being pro's".
@@sharg0 no for sure, Im glad mike has his own channel that makes good content
Their episodes are fine. I love how you're criticizing a show you can't and don't even watch anymore.
I can imagine how Sammy guys feel watching this.
The amount of times I’ve heard Frieberger yell out “no brakes!” is inspiring
Why did MotorTrend delete most of the old episodes from youtube? I swear there were about 40 full episodes originally.
Because RK sold out to Discovery and it's hard to get people to watch an ad infested hacked up program stripped of its fun if you can watch the uncut versions for free on RUclips.
Fryburger couldn't live up to the shame of his failed promise that they wouldn't sell out to mainstream media, ever.
Oh man, if only motortrend on demand was even available where I live.... Haven't been able to watch any new roadkill content even when I've been willing to pay for the service for the last year. Nice....
Same here . Account cut with no warning. It took several emails with customer service before they even explained it to me. I asked what happened to my account and they kept saying "I don't see you having an account" Literally had to send them of a screenshot of my last billing to have them confirm what had happened.
Same here.
They are available through amazon prime if you want to watch that badly. But honestly they only release shows like a fews months of the years so its worth waiting till they put them up and then subbing for a month to binge it all so it at least only costs you a month worth.
@@DanjaBis Just checked prime video and It's not available where I live, northern europe.
@@Rmx2011 That's unfortunate, I get it via that here in the UK.
I remember when they said they'd keep roadkill on youtube. Then almost immediately put it behind a pay wall. That said i'm stoked for Mike and his YT channel success LOL.
We need the og roadkill muscle truck compilation since the episode 18 burnouts and wicked exhaust
"you want to put a wedge into it, since it doesn't have a sway bar" - best line award
Normally I'm one who'd want to fix the car up to be a bit more like it originally was. But I loved that you used a S10 truck rear axle. And I probably would have gone with a V6 to have a bit more room in the engine bay since the Samurai is already so light. But you guys knocked it out of the park for a fun vehicle.
That original diff woulda blown out at 1/4 throttle of that 440
Yeah, but to quote one of their previous episodes, "We could fix a small-block Chevy with bale wire and duct tape."
Also, the Rotsun is a good testament to their hatred of Chevy V6 engines.
I've owned two suzuki's in my life. Both the best cars I've owned. If you think about it, they make killer motorcycles so why not. Always wanted a big block in one after joking to a friend that the 460 in my 78 f250 would look good in my sprint. Now you guys put a big block in a samurai. I love you dudes.
Happy to see them back in youtube
These two guys are crazy genius! Well done! 🤠👍
Love theses guys they are funny and smart .The best part is they do stuff that's crazy but function 🤣🤣 .Watch them all the time and have learned a whole lot👍👍
My pizza delivery guy here in Philly had an 🍏 one back in 94’ … koolness brothas ! 🤘🏼
I remember watching roadkill all the time miss it😭 sad that they make you pay for it now...
I love this episode! Gives me hope for the samurai!
Bring back Finn and Frei to RUclips. Best show ever.
Who builds a two wheel drive samurai?
I used to like road kill but they appear to have run out of interesting things to build.
Need more of Sammy love this now I want one
When I was young, I thought Thermoquad was the Japanese monster next in line to battle Godzilla!
Fryburger is wearing shoes. Oh my god
i love the sound of a V-8 coming from a 4 or 6 cylinder vehicle....
So cool. Learned to drive in an old Suzuki 413. Never went like this one.
but original 413 with spoa are going where no mens foot can get a grip.
That samurai is something I’d have as a daily!!!
Coolest show EVER !!!
I think I'll watch this again... Just for the wheels 😍
Remember when all the episodes were free on the RUclipsrs here? 🥺
Remember when RUclips used to pay them for the episodes?
Bring MTOD back to Australia!
And England! I miss it!
Don't know how to use a VPN eh? You click one button..
@@netrioter I have to put in a US zip code in order for it to work
@@Synchro-Mesh billing adress also has to be in the US, cant VPN that….
@@Marvin624 Yep, that's the stumbling block I can't get over either, really disappointed and pissed off :-(
Thanks thats Gold lads
I miss watching this show
I cant stop watching this
I miss my little Samurai! It went through almost every kind of terrain 😃
It's like an environmentally friendly Stubby Bob.
That yard! I’m from Canada, and most of our stuff is rusted very badly. Also, sadly, a lot of it went to the crusher when prices were up
Mid engine big block swapped samurai. Amazing.
BRILLIANT!! A Triangular leaf spring suspension for stability
So happy to find and watch this from Japan!😊😊
We did this with a smallblock once, kept it 4x4, it was my daily driver for about 5 years. Cold in the winter time though...
You need to know the fine art of rope splicing. Actually it's not hard and unbelievably strong. You just Google rope splicing and watch a vid on RUclips and all of a sudden like magic you're the finest rope slicer that ever lived.
Us loyal fans that paid to watch this amazing platform then got burned as the sold out to discovery+ well I feel bitter, miss you guys but thank god Finigan has his own channel to save us!
That car is Northeastern Suzuki 'Gypsy King'🔥
Never forget. Flange and Zeus is forever!
Incredible team.
Cant wait to watch it !!
A 440 in something so lite but still needs oil on the tire to do one tire burn out lol what a powerhouse!
man u guys build the coolest cars
This thing looks like fun!!!
I love that they got a whole engine running before hand and then decide to go w a bigger one and done even try to turn it on till they already mounted it and welded the whole fire wall💀
That is pure insanity lol. BADASS.
That was awesome? I had a samurai in 1991. Miss that thing.
Miss when they were always at dulcichs house!
My neighbor now owns the super Sammie, what a blast it is to terrorize the streets with it
love this because you are absolutely effing crazy!
Love the mint 500 fear and loathing in Las Vegas vibe
Sam's go HELLA hard on rock crawling
Awesome show
This was my dream car, In my country its called the "Gypsy"
But now they don't make this anymore so now my new fav is Suzuki "Jimny" 🤗
Crazy!
Epic burnout
You could apply more interest, call it a samurai dragon and make piles of money.
Huge props for the work. My arms would be rubber clubs after using that saw on the firewall alone.
Samurai so cool that I staring to want it!
Awesome.
The suzuki katana reminds me of when I was a kid, traveling around town with my dad who loved automotive
Aluminum slots are awesome
"Is it gonna self-clearance?" Hahaha!!! Sounds like something me or my buddies would say.
the app was worth having ... its just the rest of the world cant have it only the US . thye need to put the fresh stuff on youtube so we can all see it
That’s 🔥
Since most of the engine is between the axles, is this a mid engined vehicle?
no.. front engine

Awesome boss ... from indonesia watching 👍❤️
Why I can’t get motortrend on demand in estonia 😔😔😔 love the shows, willing to pay.
YES!
awesome
I want one of these old Sammies, but I want one with an engine that is squarely between 440 and 1.3L.
Go electric.
Excellent , I love :)
Finnegan was the other half for a reason, vs the suffering suckatash speaker - miss the old days - they were good episodes
Just what I wanted to watch at 3am 💯
Nice to see ya.
As a small RUclipsr, I always dream of making content like they are doing adventures and road trips.
Hey I'm your sub # 500 :)
Not a fan of the short cut show, but I at least appreciate that we get some Roadkill back on YT.
Looks like something out of ace ventura! Lmaoo cool stuff!
Love it
WE LOVE SAMIS
You shittin on the Samurai!? That's my favorite vehicle ya dink! 😂
Mid-engine! nice! fun watch! thanks!
Crazyyyy
That thing is so close to being great !
Backyard style rebuild with a mild cam and it would probably run pretty good
Poor rust free Sami. It deserves a better engine than that pile. It could be a really awesome build.
They're quite common in nz
True.
They wasted it.
@@grumpsnz yeah but not here. Last year was 1995 and they are getting harder to find. Price for clean ones are going way up.. I have a 91 that I've done a lot of work on. Has a Suzuki 1.6l 16v swap, Toyota axles, Toyota driveshafts, 7.5 lift with missing links and 33x12.50 tires. It's a beast off road and on the rocks. Jeeps usually can't follow me for long lol. Most people that talk bad about them never gotten to drive one or seen how simple and easy it is to work or modify one.
Bring Roadkill back to youtube!!
