Upon days long ago, when the country moved by steam, out on the blue rich mountains came a, streamlined machine , built by virgin craftsmen back in 1950 she was numbered 611 and she is the finest in steam, *SHES THE PRIDE OF THE N&W AND SHE ROLLS AGAIN TODAY, AMD SHES THE FINEST STEAM TRAIN EVER BUILT, THE 611 CLASS J* on the run over the mountains, up cristinsburgs way, no engine could pull that hill except the 611 class j, see the stack ceatching smoke, get the rhythm of the wheels, shes the poetry of motion on the roadway made of steel *SHES THE PRIDE OF THE N&W AND SHE ROLLS AGAIN TODAY,SHES THE FINEST STEAM TRAIN EVER BUILT THE 611 CLASS J* well she served theroad with pride, untill that mournful day of when the diesel came the wrong oak and they put the J away and they retired her back in 60 with Bob conplater got her running again and with steam she came to wrong oak, say welcome home old friend *SHES THE PRIDE OF THE N&W AND SHE ROLLS AGAIN TODAY SHES THE FINEST STEAM TRAIN EVER BUILT THE 611 CLASS J* *SHES THE PRIDE OF THE N&W AND SHE ROLLS AGAIN TODAY THE FINEST STEAM TRAIN EVER BUILT THE 611 CLASS J* well the 611 class j All Abord!
I really like the song, and it makes me wish that other steam excursion locomotives had their own theme song (or story song). Luckily, I have already written a locomotive song based on the one in this video. This song I created reuses some of the same lyrics and tonnage from the one in this video, but it has some alterations. In case your curious as to what locomotive my song is about, it's about Northern Pacific 328, a class S-10 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler locomotive. She's the last of her kind, and is also my most favorite locomotive ever. Below is her song. "One day, long ago, in the golden age of steam, Out through the state, Minnesota, came a small, strong engine. Built for the Northern Pacific, back in 1907, She was numbered 328, and she's the toughest of steam. She's the pride of the Northern Pacific, and she's here with us today! She's the strongest small train ever built, 328 S-10. From White Bear Lake to Grantsburg, for nearly 50 years, No train was as resilient as the 328 S-10. With her stack belching smoke, and the rhythm of her wheels, She kept the NP going on their road of wood and steel. She's the pride of the Northern Pacific, and she's here with us today! She's the strongest small train ever built, 328 S-10. She served till 1950, when her fire was dropped, and then she was sold to railfans, and then taken to a park. For over 15 years, she sat on display, Wondering if she will ever ride the steel rails again. She's the pride of the Northern Pacific, and she's here with us today! She's the strongest small train ever built, 328 S-10. Then came the Minnesota Transportation Museum, Who 328 was leased to for a restoration. And then, in '79, she returned to steam, and into excursion service, she went proud and pleased. She's the pride of the Northern Pacific, and she's here with us today! She's the strongest small train ever built, 328 S-10. She took people for rides, for over 20 years, until 2001, when they put 328 away. She's been back on display since, but you'll be happy to hear she's safe. Peacefully, she sits in a roundhouse, waiting to be called again. She's the pride of the Northern Pacific, and she's here with us today! She's the strongest small train ever built, 328 S-10. She's the pride of the Northern Pacific, and she's here with us today! She's the strongest small train ever built, 328 S-10." Let me know if you like it.
The video was a nice tribute to the pride of the Norfolk & Western! I've heard of songs about UP Big Boy 4014 ("Roll on Big Boy") and UP 844 ("The Living Legend"), but not one on N&W 611!
fun fact: j class first batch of not streamlined because of steel shortage, but they can pull freight trains. later batch of streamlined and first batch streamlined too. I surprise a streamliner (N&W J class) pulling freight trains and passenger trains, despite never classified as dual-service locos. watch : ruclips.net/video/D0eTEhya-2Y/видео.html N&W 611 back!
@@Ilikesteamtrains oh I thought it was double 611s just the number was flipped lol and I wasent paying attention to the wheel arrangement to know it was a k class lol
