Nice! I have a rust free 1985 Toyota 4runner SR5 5 speed with the same setup from Trail Gear, and has 5:29 gears. running 35's and with the GM rear disc brake conversion and the Fj80 1 in piston booster set up like yours... just installed a new LUK clutch 2 years ago... new front rotors and rebuilt steering knuckles... still doing more to it these days ... I'll remove the 4 in springs and install heavy duty Trail gear 3 in springs with soft shocks...
That will definitely stop those 40s when you get them...all I did was 88v6 caliper, 85 LC rotor...stock booster and master and it stops like it did on the 31s
Everything was good until you disnt solder those wires. Great work other wise. With electrical work do things right the first time and avoid headaches later
When you measured your 4in to the left side hole, did you find it would be close to the pre drilled holes in the frame from the old mount?? I’m currently going to ifs in an 85 Toyota but having some trouble
So my stock steering is really bad and my 4runners all over the road. To upgrade to the hi-steer will I need to get the ifs box and drill and weld it all together or is there a quicker option. I just do my have the tools for that yet. And where could I find stock steering components?
For the steering shaft you can drill the rivet or get a intermediate shaft out of a newer truck. they are longer from the factory because if IFS suspension. And yes you are correct, gear box goes as far forward as possible. I have read as close to the body mount as you can get it.
Now that you have upgraded the master I hope you are deleting them drum brakes off the back boosted built garage from Sydney australia makes a nice kit and also does hand brake kits that work and fit onto the tail shaft
Any new updates? I'm curious how it sits now with new leafs and everything. I want to do a cross over mod on my 81, but I gotta add power steering and lift it to make everything clear. I'm just curious what is the minimum lift u can do to still update steering.
GOOD WORK 👍💯👏👏 MY BROTHER. TROPHY 🏆🥳 FOR YOU. I MOSTLY LOVE GEAR BOX MANUAL VAN AND TRUCK. YOU CAN BE A GOOD TEACHER
Love the 85 4Runner.About to tackle crossover on my '81. 😎👍

Great work man! I’m about to pick up an 86 4Runner and I’ll be using your videos a lot!
Nice work, this truck’s going to stop like a BMW with that booster.
Haha damn I hope so!
Keep at it ,you'll be having fun cruising in it again;)
I CANNOT WAIT haha

Great video bro.
thanks! I appreciate it
Awesome work mate. What drop arm did you use and where did you get it from.
When you drilled the frame for the sleeves, did you drill both sides of the frame the same diameter for the sleeves? Dumb question?

Yup just drilled the rivet and slid it out a little further👍
You should show how to replace the side window gaskets! Not for the top just mine let’s water in my door and I hate it.
yea very annoying. once time becomes available I will film what ever I can!

Yup! I used sky’s off-road rear disk brake conversion, and also a disk brake behind the transfer case for the emergency brake!
I actually had to cut the front body out so I could push my steering as far forward as possible!
The write up I read said nothing about cutting! After flexing it all out, it seems to be good!
Jordan, do the hoses from the factory 84/85 steering box fit the ifs box? Thanks in advanced. About to do my hi steer
Yes they do!
What year is the fj80 booster for
And master t100
Or maybe part numbers? Thanks

I have new videos up now! And I’m not sure what the minimum lift would be.
Also would like to know what Tim size your going to use stock or custom?
Tim size?
T100 works is well for 1984?
I'm planning on getting a 1987 4 runner 5speed 22re with 250k miles is it worth it.?? I never owned a 4runner let alone a toyota this old
It’s always worth it! Unless they are asking 7 grand
What staring box used?
It’s from a IFS 88 4Runner
what sort of booster is that
It’s from a Toyota T100
@@couse44 cheers bro was thinking of using an 80 series one as we dont get t100's here in new zealand
Ah okay, as long as other guys have done it and made it work !
