Most videos on fan kicks just demo it and expect you to copy. I love that your video goes into so much depth and really explains each step. This is exactly what I needed, thank-you!
Thank you for this video. It was extremely helpful, and I loved how well you broke everything down. I'm taking a beginner pole dance class and just could not grasp how to get into this move without it feeling super awkward.
Same here! the teacher in my beginner class was actually laughing at me because I could not figure out how to get my inner leg up, but now I see that she wasn’t actually explaining it very well. I didn’t realize that it’s literally supposed to take the shape of a fan. I was doing exactly what she is showing not to do in this video, kicking my leg straight up and not getting any momentum or space to bring it over. I wish my teacher would’ve been more helpful and clarifying!
@@jacquelinturner2201 sorry, I only saw your comment now 😅 that must have been so frustrating for you! I hope you mastered the fan kick already and can help your pole friends who are still struggling with this one by giving them some tips 💪🏻😊❤️ have fun on your pole journey 😊
Good luck practising :) It takes time to get those legs straight, so be patient :) Most important thing: don't overtrain - give your body breaks to recover for quicker progress :) Feel free to just do the fan kicks with bent legs first when doing them on the pole to really focus on the technique (how to hold the pole and engage your arm muscles properly, how to fan kick those (bent) legs around properly). On the ground, you can play around with leaning back more/less to make it easier to perform the fan kick with the legs straight. Also, try to incorporate exercises that work out the muscles necessary for keeping the legs straight (e.g. straight leg lifts to the front/side/back like they do in ballett, or bringing your bent leg up first as high as you can and then trying to straighten it while trying to maintain it as high as you can - you can either do several repetitions or hold the straight leg in the highest position possible - see how many you can do with ease (write down the number) and do 1-2 extra reps each time - wiritng it down will help you monitor your progress and keep you motivated and also help you do increase the number when its necessary to make more progress - also taking photos every now and then to see how high you can hold it up is a good way to track your progress also (when it comes to increasing flexibility). You can also do leg raises on the floor, which will help you to focus more on that core- leg connection, so you can make sure you are really engaging your core when lifting your legs during the fan kick :). So, as you can see, there are heaps of ways to practise for pole without a pole to get your body ready for mastering the next pole trick - it always helps to write down what moves you want to nail and what muscles you need to work in order to increase your strength/flexibility to be able to nail that move fast :) Sorry for writing up such a novel here :D Happy training :)
Even if you are just engaging all the muscles in your arms for now (and you can even keep them engaged for 3 sec at first and sliwly increase the time) - that will still train those muscles and eventually youll have the strength :) i know its frustrating when you are trying real hard and nothing happens, but one day it will finally work - so keep going! Focus on form, be consistent (but give yourself rest days to recover - thats when the muscles grow) & be patient :) You can also try to just lift up one leg while having the other on the ground still - and eventually try to swap legs , so theres no leg on the ground diring the swap :) that way you are adding the ab strength into the exercise as well :)
ruclips.net/video/vol-Jwhy4Go/видео.html So you could try to include the knee tucks from this video here into your regular conditioning too :) there is an easier option that i explain after the regular version :)
Thanks so much xx I actually got them ages ago... Ordered them from amazon when I was living in Germany, but I don't think that they are still selling them :/ This is the link I got them from, if that helps in any way.. www.amazon.de/gp/product/B073JCSH85/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
