After watching your videos and rehairing a few masks, I gotta say your tips on using a palette knife, ruler, and then cutting with scissors for the front are excellent paired with the Qwik Dry glue for the front. And I have to say your precision on the front hairline here is very very good. I'm just trying to avoid the large glue edge that is on stock TOTS masks. I found using some sheets of clear plastic- like plexiglass or from a box with a "window", works really good for putting the initial glue on. It lifts off easily and then you can peel off the dried glue later and reuse it. Thanks for all these detailed videos!
I actually plan to do one in the near future. I think it's a good thing to share how paint styles and techniques can change over time as you're learning. I love seeing those kinds of videos from others myself and I love learning different ideas and perspectives for myself. Keep an eye out for it coming up probably in the new year 😉
One thing I'll add. Some of the TOTS hairlines, especially on the Kirk and the Halloween 78 mask, are too high. I just place it where I think it looks best.

hey, hi, i used tacky glue to try fix the hairline of my tots mask folding the hair but it does not stick... am i doing something wrong? thanks in advance.
It may be a problem of the glue not penetrating through the thickness of enough hair to keep it pulled down. It could also be a problem of not giving the glue enough time to dry. They also make a Quick Dry Tacky Glue that grabs very well. I'm not completely sure about a solution though because I haven't seen exactly what the problem is myself. If you're folding the hair forward over the hairline and gluing that way then one thing you could consider is using hot glue. That isn't something I can guarantee because I haven't used it myself but I know that others have used it successfully. You could also completely rehair using these tutorials as well. Hopefully this helps at all. I'm here if you have more questions still 😉👍
@@twistedgods you can definitely use any other kind of Merino for this. If it's cheaper to find elsewhere then definitely go that route. International shipping can be a big cost for sure.
@@masqueraideworkshopawesome. i love the way your mask looks so i’ve watched these videos at least 5 times. keep doing what you’re doing! hoping to get a repaint tutorial from you soon
@@masqueraideworkshopjust bought 1oz of merino wool in brown and some tackle glue. super nervous about doing it but the hair on my current mask is awful. Did you use the entire ounce of wool?

how many packs of this hair should you ideally buy to be safe? 2?
I used 1 ounce for this mask but 2 ounces wouldn't hurt if you like to have extra for any reason.
@@masqueraideworkshop i just checked, says it’s £5 but with delivery it’s £40. gonna try re hair with a different merino wool. would this work still?
