Perchta Witch - Half Mask customer review
I've heard one of these in action when I was a kid... Absolutely brilliant!
You can use a empty propane tank
The 3 in one start is always why people cant figure it out this such a good video exactly how to do it silent compressors make more noise than this literaly free
This is an awsome video the best one iv seen on how to do it safe way thanks
This is perfect! I have watched countless videos on how to work on this mask. This is the closest to how my mind would imagine this should be done. I have tried everything and the thing I always end up not liking is the detail. All the cracks and black/browns lines. I just keep covering them up no matter what I do. So glad I found this video I’m gonna give it a go!
I think The 2018 is the hardest because you don't really get the freedom you get with a kills or ends. I have seen several versions of the ends mask that look nothing like the screen used mask but they look absolutely amazing. The 2018 mask you kinda have to be on point.
I completely agree
No more secrets lol
😂😜
Chris here..was a pleasure, and thanks for the conversation buddy
Absolutely was a pleasure talking to both of you 🎃
Is that not made for Freon or some other gas? Can it run air? Lovely setup though!😊
It definitely is! I pulled it from a refrigerator. These are designed to compress refrigerant as a gas and then into a liquid farther down the line so they're ideal for compressing air.
How long would the hair take to get to my house if I ordered today
Depends on the fiber and color you want. I've actually depleted my brown Merino stock this week and we have a bulk order from our supplier coming within 3 - 5 business days. Once I get our bulk order in it'll be 24 hours to process it and then we can start to fulfill orders. It'll be after Halloween.
Thank you, Great Video! I was just looking at compressors, but I'm a maintenance man that deals with a lot of refrigerators, so you already know what I'm going to do now!
Awesome! Check back with an update! 2 years later and I'm still running mine strong 🎃
The backside roboto,is in 3D design or just a Toy??
It's just a toy that I picked up at a local thrift store. I love the character.
@@masqueraideworkshop greatings FROM ARGENTINA!!
Nothing from Slipknot right now. Possibly one day 😊
Is there an alternative color I can use other than zombie flesh? Preferably an acrylic that I can mix with liquid latex? Looking for an accurate color for the 2018 mask. Appreciate it
Motion Picture FX now sells a small rehauling paint kit that includes all of the Nightshades colors that are used to paint these if that helps. It's VERY affordable. Zombie Flesh (M) is the yellow eggshell color in the kit. I have leaned more towards (L) at times but I may change to (M) just to see if I like it better. I've reverse engineered the paint scheme myself over time looking at stock mask paint colors and reading Christopher Nelson's description of how he painted these and many photos. Some of it is personal preference as well just by eye in person. I would suggest experimenting to find out what you prefer most. Thanks for watching!
What hair are you using please
You can find this exact brown at our store online here: masqworks.com/products/100-merino-wool-roving-solid-colors
Awesome
390 is insane for a generic Kirk that has no lineage
That price was actually an introductory offer from quite some time ago. Here's the link to our store with a much different price tag....... masqworks.com/products/halloween-begins-latex-blank-diy-1978-halloween-mask Thanks for watching! 😁
I know this was two years ago, but that was bad brushing technique
I admit that I don't have the best techniques when it comes to the hair styling. Most of what I learn is from trial and error by experimenting or instruction from others. Any input to improve is always appreciated. It took me a long time to get my painting technique down and I'd love to find better ways to style the hair too.
You should try do Halloween kill mask it would look fantastic
Definitely have plans to 😉
Man, this saved my Halloween. I got two of them right away. I LOVE IT!!!!!
Awesome 😁 Glad to hear that
Thank for this! Im still feeling that are wrong colors, very close but i love the technique. Ty so much for showing us
It's definitely a learning process! I have yet to see a Christopher Nelson original copy with my own eyes in person. There will definitely be a stock version and one of my own in my hands to compare when the day comes. Colors can be difficult due to ligting and filters and even camera type. Thanks for the input and especially for watching! 😁
Thanks this helped a lot I was struggling with the little cracks and details
I'm glad it couid help 😁 Thanks for watching
Man that looks so good! I ordered mine last night , I cant wait to get it ! Thank you !
That's great and thank you! We'll have that packaged up for you asap. I think you'll really like it 😁
@@masqueraideworkshop Awesome!
Thank you ❤
You're welcome 😁
I honestly don't know why airbrush compressors aren't all made like this. fridge compressors are designed to be quiet and run 24/7 for years on end without maintenance, and honestly not that much expensive (see the price of a bar fridge or a used fridge). Yet the airbrush industry chooses to use loud crappy diaphragm compressors that run way too hot after while, which contributes to "wet" air and spurting.
I wanna buy a mask but ima 6’5 I was wondering if I could get you to rehaul my coveralls too ?
What refrigerator did you get this compressor from and how old or what year is it from? They seem to be making household appliances cheap these days and it might be better to get a compressor from an older fridge like something from the 90s or early 2000s.
It was from an older model fridge but the pressures that you would use for airbrushing would be so much lower. I can't imagine even a cheap compressor failing due to that.
@@masqueraideworkshop Thanks for the comment. You might be right about that, I don't really hear about the compressors going out in them, mainly other components but I'd like to try to find out if the older ones were built better or not.
just paint it white very softy that's it there has to be something else to it
The bulk of the painting goes on layer by layer as it builds up it. It's actually a pretty easy process. The hard part is knowing when to keep painting and when to stop.
Why is it black
Great question! That's the basecoat that I dry brush on top of. It gives more depth to the paint compared to only doing a dark rubout on a light colored base. Not to mention that's how Christopher Nelson painted them for the movies 🎃
Thank you so much for your hard work on this mask!!! In the past I have tried to rehaul it and I just could not get it right at all. But with this video, I feel like I make steps in the right direction. Do you have a Facebook by chance? I would love to stay in contact through messenger if possible and show you my progress on the mask.
Hey there! Sorry for the slow response back. You can definitely follow us on Facebook at facebook.com/share/n5uAaaK8wCt6cJzM/?mibextid=qi2Omg or feel free to contact me directly here as well. Thanks for the kind words and I'm thrilled that I could help out a little.
Cancer myers
0:39 Is your Black paint colour mixed with liquid latex?
It has latex in it already. It's a 50/50 blend of two colors of Night Shades mask paint, Fargone and Black Sabbath. They can be found for sale at Motion Picture FX and Nightmare Toys.
@@masqueraideworkshop thank you
@@chayakorn_fun31 you're welcome. Happy to help!
Dude, I TOTALLY love watching your videos, ALL THE WAY TO THE END. Very talented you are good sir. . .
Thank you for your support and for watching. Glad to be of help in the community 😁
Still waiting for part 2
It's definitely been delayed for a long while. If all goes as planned it should be recorded, edited, and uploaded by Halloween, possibly sooner. We appreciate everyone who watches!
You sell these??? I need one before halloween i can't find any good masks anywhere
I'm booked up getting some delayed orders done right now so I'm not able to promise that any new orders can be completed before Halloween.
whatcolor should j use for my 2018 mask?
Do you have a particular supplier to purchase from for the crepe wool you are asking about?
@@masqueraideworkshop yes amazon mehron crepe hair.
Without seeing it in person, I would recommend the darkest brown you can find. Sometimes pictures on computer screens and devices can vary in color so it's hard to know for sure until you see it with your eyes. Darker brown will most likely have less of a tendency to look as reddish in tone compared to some lighter browns.
So is every layer of hair 5 inches?
Yes they are for this method in the tutorial.
That's sick hair job man. Love it!!!
Hey, thanks! I appreciate it.
Excellent video. Love it. Will help alot of people out. :)
Thanks for the positive feedback and thank you for watching.
this is like bob ross paints a myers mask
hello sir! I need your help how did you make this braid can please tell me can we do this braid on natural hair please reply
This crepe hair comes braided already. I actually take it out of the braid as purchased and straighten it myself.
@@masqueraideworkshop thank you so much you gave your attention to my comment and replied it
Hey I’m planning on overhauling an H6 mask later this fall and I was going to use crepe hair to rehair it. How much crepe hair would I need and how could I adhere it to the mask? Realistically I don’t know what method I should do to rehair the mask with crepe hair.
About 5 ft of the hair and tacky glue is what most rehaulers use to glue the hair down
Do you hace a full list of the nightshade colors needed? This is an excellent tutorial! I tried using inks to fill in the details and they Always come out looking bad. The dry-brushing method is great!
Thanks for watching! Hopefully it can help some. For the dark base I use a 50/50 mix of Black Sabbath and Fargone, the yellow tones are Zombie Flesh (L), and for the whites I've used Fright White on some but lately I lean more towards white alcohol-activated paints of any brand. I like the alcohol paints because they can be made thinner and more translucent without sacrificing adhesion unlike the latex-based Fright White. I use different shades of Nightshades browns for the dirty effects and other random stuff at different times. It really just depends on what I want to try. The basic Nightshades colors I listed earlier though are my foundational colors that I always use no matter what look I'm going for. Hope that helps!
The technique is called "dusting"
I will say that I've not heard that term used before for drybrushing masks. I certainly don't claim to know much beyond what I've learned myself over time, but I'm always happy to hear from anyone. I appreciate you watching!
Thank you for the video… I was given a husky compressor 2.5g but the motor has issues. Can I use a small motor from a small refrigerator? And the process for connection is it the same as the explanation you have given?
Shouldn't be an issue using a compressor from a small fridge. I got mine from a standard household fridge. There might be some differences in pressure but they all function the same. If course I can't guarantee anything and you do have to be aware of risks associated with the pressures these can produce.

This definitely gives bob ross vibes. Good job.
