You're very welcome and thank you for your support by watching. It's been quite a little while since we've produced any tutorials but we've got some great videos coming up with some advanced paint and hair methods and even some great helpful tools available for purchase at our store. So stay tuned in for those!
Nice. Was going to try this but, looking at the movie (when he goes thru lighted car port getting the hammer) his hair looks really thin and almost some bald spots and after seeing Nicks video with the stock hair results, I'm going to try the stock hair first.
I can respect that. It's important that you're happy with your own work most of all. Keep in mind, if you happen to do any more future projects, that it's also possible to make this hair even more sparse in areas by spreading the roving even farther apart when you make your rows. Might even thin it down with scissors as, an option. It can be fun to experiment too 🎃
@@masqueraideworkshop I took all the hair off as it all came off instead of just the front hairline. It doesn't look like putting it back has enough. So I'm going to try yours or a combination of both.
I haven't done one just yet but it's coming. I've got that one and a few other tips videos I want to record as well. I'll try to get a rehaul video produced very soon though. Stay tuned and hopefully some of my methods can help. May even help me learn more with input from others. Thanks for watching, I really do appreciate it 🎃
Your work is superb man I have a question and a problem. How is patches of Mohair removed from a Myers Mask? It's glued down and very difficult to pull out any tips is greatly appreciated thank you.
Want to hear some encouraging news? Your video was actually the very first video that I saw doing hair. Man, my videos were inspired HEAVILY by you and Nick Mulpagano. No lie. YOU are part of the reason that these videos became what they did. So, a huge shout out to both Nick and you for sharing what you know in the first place. 😁👍
@@dantheman8441 also, thank you for the compliment. I forgot to accept some validation for myself and I really do appreciate you taking the time to offer a kind word 🎃
$295 shipped if I have to get a mask or $225 shipped if customers sends a mask. Not sure on the 2018 availability though. I don't have any in stock and Trick or Treat Studios has them on backorder until November. Locally it's possible they could be in stock but that could change as we get closer to Halloween.
Great video. I have no problem with the painting part of masks, but the hair part is a tedious process but a big factor in making the mask look good. Do you still recommend the regular tacky glue? I see you have some of the Fast Dry on the desk, or what about E6000? I want it to dry fast, but I also want it to come off easily if I want to redo it (without ripping off paint)
I used the regular tacky glue for the whole head and quick dry for the front hairline in that video. Those both work great and clean up easy with water.
Depends on the fiber and color you want. I've actually depleted my brown Merino stock this week and we have a bulk order from our supplier coming within 3 - 5 business days. Once I get our bulk order in it'll be 24 hours to process it and then we can start to fulfill orders. It'll be after Halloween.
I actually made it myself out of parts from Lowe's and some things around the house. I'll do a quick tutorial this weekend to show how I put it together.
El molde esta hecho en fibra de vidrio,y hay algo por la web de moldes o que se vean los diseños de personajes conocidos para tratar de imitarlos mediante la arcilla?
Thank you. We sell it at our website at WWW.MASQWORKS.COM. It does look nice and I love using it. That's the reason we decided to offer it for sale to other people who do masks as well.
I have used it myself. The only thing you need to do is make sure that the hair is able to stay put and not move around after you've stuck it down. It dries slower so it takes longer to firm up enough to hold steady without worrying. It's a slower process but it can be done.
I have a Michael Myers that has no hair it's was like 20 dollars at party city but I kinda don't like the way it looks but do u know any ideas to make the mask look better??
I actually made mine using some parts from Lowe's. I bought the Lazy Susan hardware and installed it under a precut wooden circle and I used some other things around the house to make the rest. PVC and duct tape are great. I love finding creative ways to make things using random stuff around the house too. Repurposing is a great way to save money making your own things.
Hey, I’m working on a rob zombie mask and I need some hair for it, does your brown hairs on the site have them little white strains in it, like have a aged look ?
Great question 🎃 We don't have that exact type but if you go to the link below and order the Dark Brown Gray, that will be what you need.... www.etsy.com/listing/113023565/curly-crepe-hair-wool-braided-doll-hair Then when you get some of that hair watch our video about prepping crepe hair. That should get you all fixed up!
@@masqueraideworkshop nice Tysm, funny story I actually already had that exact crepe hair in my cart on Etsy lol, I was just seeing if you had any like that since yours is a lot more and cheaper, but I’ll definitely be buying from you for other masks in the future 💯
@@zomb_ified sounds great and I appreciate the support! I've actually got plans to try to see if I can source that exact crepe hair myself to carry at our own store since it's perfect for RZ Myers.
I hope my language translation has been done well.
If you follow the way I did in the video then one ounce will work. I do recommend getting two ounces if you feel that having any extra as backup is helpful to you but it isn't absolutely necessary.
@@masqueraideworkshop yea that thing is real sweet! I'm about to order some hair from your site, im gonna order some brown for sure but I was thinking about ordering some of the oak? You think the oak Is at all close to the right color or should I just stick with the brown? I kinda like the lighter brown that comes with the stock mask.
Honestly, I think Oak might be too close to a blonde color. Right now I've only got a few colors in stock but I can order any color from my supplier, it just takes longer to get it to customers. Once the demand for other colors increases then I can start carrying much larger amounts on hand. Brown is the main color I've been selling the most.
The color I used in the videos is brown. Yes, you get 1 ounce (3.5 feet) of hair fiber just like you saw in the video. You'll spread the width of the fiber apart and then cut to 5 inch sections just like in the video but it's definitely one ounce that you'll order to get the exact same results as I showed in the video. It's low enough in cost that you could order 2 ounces if you were concerned about having enough or or simply just wanted it thicker.
If you cut each row at 5" in length you'll have very little if anything left over if you hair it the way I show. If you watch on part 1 you can see exactly how I lay it on and that I actually use the whole 3.5 feet exactly, minus the tiny bit I cut off at the very beginning. But I would suggest that you absolutely do what you feel is best for your own project because that's what matters most, that it works perfectly for you 🎃
@@masqueraideworkshop Ok. What's the difference between the crepe that's straightened and the other crepe that's braided? Is one better than the other?
This hair has thinner individual fibers and is softer as a result. If you're looking for a stiffer and more coarse hair then definitely go with the braids. I love this roving because it adds an element of softness and, in my opinion, its easier to style to get the look that I personally want on the 2018. The roving will also grunge up just as well as the braided crepe will. I happen to prefer the softer hair because it helps me achieve the look that I'm after. I promise you that if you like the look of how it turns out in the videos then you won't be disappointed if you follow the tutorial. I definitely recommend trying it out if you are able just so you'll know for sure if it's something you can add to future projects. It's very cost effective even if you were simply experimenting.
I used our own brown Merino fiber that we sell at our store online here: masqworks.com/collections/fiber/products/100-merino-wool-roving-solid-colors?variant=39575161503808 I used 1 ounce of Merino in that video but you might consider getting an extra ounce just in case you have any problems with the application the first time. That's up to you though.
