Just checking out vid because I plan on getting a 98 trophy and has a 120 force on it. Did you put the impeller in there backwards. When you have the one pulled the impeller is clock wise the one you put in are counter. I might be wrong
To all the people commenting about the impeller put in wrong direction, it will correct itself. I would have put some 101 on the shaft teeth and inspected the prop shaft for fishing line and leaks. Nice trick with the fishing string. 20+ years never had to do that but it may help someone
sierra Catalog state 18-3570 is the part to replace this. Torque specs are not listed in the repair manual. Sierra repair manual may have some specs though.
You installed the new impeller with the fins going the opposite direction of the one you replaced. I thought direction of the fins mattered since the shaft spins clockwise?

Did you ever have a problem with overheating because of the impeller being put on backwards? what was the torque on the 6 1/2 bottom bolts? thanks

I have the same boat and motor. Mine has an alarm that has been going on. Is this the motor getting hot due to the impeller?
