So, dear friends, folks who like what I do - here's the place where you can help out. gofund.me/ea34f7b6 As I say in the video, any little bit counts and GREATLY appreciated.
When I first read your newsletter on what had happened, I felt really sorry for you. But this video brought the whole story much closer to me. I understand how much difference it makes to travel with your family, being responsible, being the one to tackle any unexpected thing. Myself as a father bringing up a family of 3 kids, i cannot afford to donate too much. But I want to take my part, because in a way you deliver an insight into the lifestyle I admire. Through your talented eyes and explanations I feel I can also develop my skills. Your videos have great mental value to many people like me, so altogether this is a good cause to support. I really hope you are on your way for the new camper by now. And by the way, i would have acted the same way with the mechanic. He was irresponsible, but probably not driven by bad intent. And as you say, you cannot take away something he does not have. Good things always trigger good things.
Thank you for your heartfelt message and your help! Yeh, the mechanic definitely did not mean bad and, you know, I just don't like to dwell on things. Same reason I don't chase people who use my photos without permission, just no energy for that. I want to create, to make new. I arrived at the place, things are looking promising. It was hard to find a legit place. There are many, but the key is to find the right camper already built, otherwise it's 5-6 months wait.
Hey mate, it is so unfortunate that this happened like that. But yeah, you will overcame this and come back with a lot of energy! I hope this campaign reaches the value you need for the new camper 🙌🏻
I feel your pain amd the things you are going through in your head. I had a similar situation in Albania last summer, albeit it was a relatively short one, we got stuck for 5 days. I am not able to support as much as I’d like, but chipped in regardless. Hopefully this will be a precursor to all the great experiences to follow. Best of luck and wishes to you and your family.
I am heartbroken to learn about the devastation and loss to your home. You are a great man with great talent. I have been a long term follower / supporter / student of your courses. Hang in there!! As you have said, hope and light at the end of the tunnel 💪💪💪
Hi Mitchell. I'm SOOOO sorry this happened. I had the worst year last year and I suppose all of these things that happen make us wise and stronger, but they stink nevertheless. Best of luck with the donations and I hope it's resolved fast!
So sorry to hear about this Mitchell. You're a cool and super talented guy and you have played a big part in helping me improve in my photography journey while maintaining a travelling/nomadic lifestyle. Just donated and all the best to you and your family. I genuinely believe things will work out for you 👍
Ai what a stroke of bad luck! I hope it can get sorted out soon. You seem very resourceful so it wouldn't surprise me if you are on the road again soon. I love your lifestyle and content and am looking forward to seeing more of your work once you're back in the saddle again. Contributed to the campaign
Best wishes from northern Sweden. I work myself and guide tours with sled dogs, and the dogs become like a mirror of how your feelings and attitude are in dealing with problems....so I appreciate and am happy even if it is a tough setback for you how you choose to try to solve the challenge. Of course, I also appreciate the photos you share and your knowledge and experience that you share. Wish that in the future you can look back on this whole challenge and remember all the people who in one way or another have helped you to the best of their ability. Good luck and a wish that 2024 will be a year to look back on with positive memories... / Kim
Omg, heartbroken to see that.. and being so generous to that mechanic, beyond my imagination.. just can't imagine your situation right now.. hope you bounce back quickly from this, love from India..
Well, generous or not, there's not much that can be done. Legally the process would take years, I need a lawyer, bla bla bla and there's zero guarantee that anything would come out of it. And of course, even if I could, if the guy has nothing - do I just take everything away from him?
@@mitchellkphotos absolutely not , salute to you for what you decided. That's why I said you're very generous and kind ! When one lost his home, it's not so easy to be calm and think wisely..
Terrible stroke of luck for you for sure mate, getting a mechanic to fix your burned out clutch for you around the holidays anywhere is definitely tough so lucky you were able to get that fixed. But wrecking your camper trying to fix the truck is not good any way you look at it. I guess things are different in other countries than here in the US. If the shop fixing a vehicle here wrecks your vehicle while they're working on it, the shop is responsible for paying for and fixing the damage. Then if something happens with that, that's why we have insurance on our vehicles and campers. But, like I said, I guess things are different in other countries. I've traveled a good way around the world but never encountered anything like this so I'm for sure no authority. Best of luck to you, keep pressing forward.
It's a 2017 Hilux, NOT a 20 yr old vehicle. A routine checkup by an idiot lifting the car on a lift not made to lift that weight would have led to the same problem. The thing is, it's hard to know when the clutch will go out when the vehicle is no longer standard. Because it's heavier it went out much faster.
@@dizzybuizzy9347 You have no idea what you're talking about, my whole life is a trip, there aren't always mechanics before every journey. Or you just want to kick someone when they're down?

Absolutely! Things are looking more positive. I'll post an update soon and a new video, which will now be historic for me with the camper. :(
It’s clear that you have a resilient spirit. Here’s to the journey ahead, where you and your family rise taller and stronger. Keep moving forward!

Yeh, for sure there are lessons in everything. But yeh... SOOOO annoying and frustrating. It's a lesson just to learn to block it all out. :)

A routine Maintenance Check-Up would have probably prevented this problem - Especially on a 20+ year old Vehicle...

You can deny reality all you like, but the fault starts with you! Have you performed a check up before embarking on the Trip?
