Sounds to me like there is no such thing as good or bad light. There are only good, knowledgeable and bad, inexperienced photographers. Thank you for the video. Your work is stunning.
Hello Mitchell. Creativity is the basis for everything. You are right about the light. Seek and you will find, try and you will reach your dream goal. Best regards Jack.
I really appreciate your insights, Mitchell. It seems that every time I see one of your videos, I end up feeling good about photography again - gonna check out that website right now 🤙🏼
Some of my favorite photos have been at night where there's very little light. Also some morning shots where things look mysterious. I still appreciate the golden hour because I feel like it's easiest to get the best photos but it doesn't mean that it's good light
This is so important, to know the feelings associated with different lighting scenarios. One more really useful video, it is so unique to hear real thoughts of a working photographer! By the way, have you got any tips for backlight? I shot a few family session in beautiful golden backlight and the faces lose contrast, I had to raise black level, and do dehaze... maybe change the angle, not to have direct harsh light on the lense?
Thank you and yes, you have to change angle, but my question is - why do you want that contrast? :) That's the beautiful thing about backlight (from certain angles) that it creates that soft, dreamy feel. The point of this video is to show that we can utilize virtually every kind of light. Of course we can get the contract up with processing or with a reflector, but I would argue that it's better to make the most of the situation you have and not to try to make that situation into something it's not. :)

This channel has the best photography content. I wish people listened to your advice instead of buying new gear and watching gear reviews.

Brilliant video Mitchell, thanks. I really love both your photography and way of teaching. All the best.
Great message. A lot of valuable time can be wasted waiting for "good" light. Carry on. 👍🥂

Muito obrigada pelas "dicas" de fotografia. Tenho um interesse especial por essa verdadeira "arte" de registrar o mundo a nossa volta 😉😘

Yeah. I travel and just shoot whenever. On the road, you often only get one chance at subject matter.
Yeeep! Hope you're good. :)
Cruising nicely, thanks. I trust you're well, too. ☀@@mitchellkphotos
