  • After lots of brake issues we've decided to go ahead and order a new old stock master brake cylinder for our Unimog S404.1.
In this vlog we'll review the new item and show you how the army conserved and stored these parts.
We'll install this part and make a video of the install for the following vlog.

You guys crack me up. Remind me of my friends growing up :) Similar sense of humour!
P.S. Cool cabin - looks a bit wider than my MB 508d.

Thanks, the MB 508 is also great for getting around and camping.

I changed my brake light to be separate of the turn signals. You can buy the hella round truck/trailer lights they fit perfectly. Still need to sell my orginal rear lights :D

I re wired the internals of the original rear lights. So I have red (separate) break lights and orange indicator lights.

I think you didnt buy the side windows for the carbio yet. That is so much original parts all over the packaging!

Luckily mine were new when I bought the truck, so no need to replace them in the near future ^^

Over here in the US the blinkers are orange, and breaks are Red. Great video! Is the 404 offered in gas and diesel? Have seen a few gas 404s on RUclips. I love diesels, think it's a better option for the Mog. Just my opinion. Not that I wouldn't take a gas version.

Yes there were diesel versions made of the 404 but not a lot.
The strength of the unimog 404 comes from the portal axes and the gear reduction, so in the end it's a personal preference what you like the feeling of more petrol or diesel.

We got our parts from D. Van Dam Parts. A army vehicle parts supplier here in the Netherlands.
