Yeah, the "favorite song is the last one" and "50 songs in the top 10 songs" is a trope but it's actually true. Nobody believes it until, say, their fifth or sixth song but then reality begins to sink in. Some people judge bands and musicians by how many notes they can play or things like that, but for me it's just what you said. They move me. They touch my heart and that is the aim of every musician, or should be. You want to see them live? Start working on your cardio!
😁🤣Saiki (LS) Who, by the way picks (on the whole) the setlist, wanted a ,new, BANGER to open the the new tour Gigs. So you get HIT with "from now on!" followed by The Ice Queen REGALLY striding on stage ... Saiki is responsible for a lot more than people think ... 😉
After watching the Christmas Day acoustic concert, I can say that any subset of Band-Maid is a wonderful ensemble. The four musicians are great, and it gives Saiki a break.
Yes my friend. You are not alone. Goosebumps, watery eyes, they have the magic. This is the song that knocked me over into full blown Maidiac. Your reaction is exactly what I love about watching reactions. Those “goosebump moments,” those pauses before they hit you again, the emotional journey. Watching you is like watching my kid opening his Christmas gift. I know what’s coming and you don’t! That said, I think I know where you could go next. The Maids have a particular song that fans love; they always play it live; and it shows another facet of their musical abilities: “Daydreaming,” official music video is the way to go. “Daydreaming,” an uptempo ballad, sits in perfect contrast with “From Now On.” The same musicians shouldn’t be able to do this. But they do. Enjoy traveling down the pigeonhole! And I know you’re going to see them live someday. Hopes are for a world tour after their next album release. 🤞🏽
There is a reason Kanami writes instrumentals for the band. It's to save Saiki's voice. A few years ago, Saiki had to have surgery on her vocal cords to remove polyps that affected her voice. So the band is very conscious of any strain that might affect her singing. Saiki makes out the set list for every live concert, keeping in mind the songs that might put a strain on her voice. Usually during a concert, The will play an instrumental(Onset and Don't be Long are two of them) and then Miku will sing one of the songs designated for her and then they will then do Miku's Omajinai Time, so that Saiki can get the vocal rest she needs.
And "Play" was so good (IIRC) that Saiki asked to have a vocal part in it, so the band had to come up with a new song that was instrumental LOL. Because you cannot just burn out your lead vocalist over a 2 or 3 hour set. Epic group.
@@powbobs do you know a source for this? I'm not calling you a liar or anything like that but I've only seen this in youtube comments and I would love to read the story for myself wherever it came from.
This song takes a certain amount of energy to play. And at It was to be the encore at the end of the tour before last but Kanami was exhausted and couldn't play it in Chicago. So, when they returned to Chicago, to play Lollapalooza they opened with it. And as they warmed up they got even better. Not only did they play the version of 'Don't Your Tell ME' with the Call & Response "Battle" in it they did an even better one in 'Hate'. That's the one you should do a Reaction on!
You kept mentioning Saiki. I believe she is the reason this song exists. She said she wanted an instrumental to draw in the crowd when they played festivals. (With the unstated fact that she would keep them there afterwards). And Kanami just went "Hold my coffee". They often use it for opening their show now.
Hopefully they'll be visiting Europe next year. And when I say Europe I mean the UK. And when I say the UK I mean Wales. And when I say Wales I mean Cardiff. Sounds like a dream but I wished really hard for Babymetal to come here and, in 2020 and 2023, they played Cardiff so if I start wishing really, really hard now, I reckon they'll make my dream come true. Either that or I'll be travelling elsewhere in the UK or Europe to see them. As you say, just got to see them!

I was fortunate enough to see them just outside Washington DC at the end of October last year and I cannot overstate how awesome they were. That was the first live show I’d been to in quite some time but after seeing them it made it a simple choice to jump in and go see Dreamcatcher live as well when they came through in March. They have been using this song as an opener during their short sets (festival or opening act) and during their "Saiki Break Time" in the middle of their full shows where they do a Miku led song, an instrumental and a Miku MC time to give Saiki about a 15-20min break to rest her voice.

I'm not saying Band-Maid and Band-Maiko are the same group, but have you seen either of them in the same room together? Very sus 😆
You have to be very careful comparing the two bands- if you think the K-Pop fandoms can be viscious, you DON'T want to be caught between their fandoms!
I get with everthing in this song except for the lipsinking.
My eyes "leak" when listen to Band Maid also...but I'm almost 70.....now....judging from the room you record in, I can only assume that you are.......a hobbit ?????....LOL
I have no idea why, but I tear up every time I hear this song, which is somewhat embarrassing when I’ve seen them live.
Those dam maikos , always stealing the band of maids shit , tune in next week for more adventures, the eyes of kaboto r watching
and a little cluppo is always hiding out somewhere
I guess you're joking, but in case you're not..... lol Band Maiko is BandMaid. This will explain it (to you or others). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Band-Maiko_(album) Originally was an April Fool's day thing.
