Hi ! Thank you for the video! Please , what’s the highest temperature in your area in summer ? I am in Houston, it is around a 100 degrees around here , and I am worry about my Orchids outside . Thanks ❤️❤️❤️
I love your videos!! I don't know if I should use a bloom booster from "you pot me." I do fertilize with 13-3-15 from MSU orchid formula every 3 wks out of the month. The phal orchids look healthy. They are outside on my covered patio but do receive some sun in the early morning from the east. I'm just not sure if a bloom booster is necessary. The phals did bloom this spring with more than one spike. Thanks!
I personally grow my orchids on my balcony during late Spring,Summer and up until Novembre under shady conditions with daily spraying,I live in a similar climate like Cyprus but colder during Winter(Thessaloníki,Northern Greece) and they always become much more productive and disease tolerant. The resting Dendrobium species seem to have similar duration of growing with the ones inside, but they always grow larger.
Beautiful flowers. Where are you growing orchids? What temperature and what humidity do you have? Hot and cold don’t mean much without specific number info. All viewers live in different regions climate so I appreciate more numbers.
I know this isn't the topic but- I'm having glycerine like drops form on my orchids- do I need to worry about this, I think I do. It seems to be coming from inside, like all the sap is pushing out from the plant. Is this caused because of me or is this an internal fungus. One plant spike needed cut because the place above drops got wimpy?
Good info on what works best in your heat but being new to orchids I would love to know the varieties you have out there. I live in the high desert of AZ and my patio temps are in the 100's everyday. Yesterday it was 115 F in the shade.
I live in North Central Florida and this is the 2nd year growing all of my orchids outside. My paphs and phals are in shade on my porch. The rest are in my yard getting bright shade from a big oak tree. Excluding mounts and vandas, most are in LECCA. They get some direct light in the morning and late afternoon. Due to low temps they're mostly inside Dec -March. Pros: Better growth, more robust, better blooms, rain Cons: grazing insects, leaping lizards😡
I live in SE Florida and grow all my orchids outdoors as well. A few weeks ago I repotted my cattleyas and dendrobiums into lecca and stalite. I have the dendrobiums hanging in a plumeria in my front garden. They are doing much better since they have been moved to that location and had the medium change. I'm hoping that will be true for the cattleyas as well. My vandas are hanging in my lanai which is south-facing, but has a shade cloth cover. I water them and the mounted orchids in my collection at least once, sometimes twice a day.
My Dendrobium phalaenopsis, Cattleya and Vandas doesn't like to be inside the house for some reason, I have to grow them in the garden but I have seen other people successfully growing indoors, I envy them somehow.
I am a new orchid enthusiast. I inherited the responsibility for my wife's orchids when she died. I think i have gone overboard because of early successes. I live in Wi. ,in a small apartment. one side faces north east the other has a porch with a overhanging roof. Temps can get to 90+ with high humidity for a few days in the summer. Winter I can keep them where I want. My vandas seem to be having a root problem. I water (emerse) them in the morning and evening when I bring them in. I am thinking of just spraying them in the evening, Do you think spraying them during the day when they are outside would be of a better choice. Please I need help.
@@sinine1100 some are falling off. some have a black spot on them. I was considering using Hydrogen per oxide or a low bleach spray. Then again I thought maybe misting them in the sunlight could be the problem.
Dani: I’ve noticed your vandas don’t have extremely long unruly roots.... and I love that’! Q #1, how do you keep the roots from growing too long and Q 2; what to do w a vanda I bought that already have extremely long unruly roots? I wetted the roots but they still don’t seem that pliable. Thanks.
Hi, my Vandas are pretty recently placed in this setup, they will have long roots eventually, they just swirl more in the basket. I think making sure they are super soaked is the best way to make them flexible, they won't become noodles though, but do the best you can 😁
Dani, I grow a few vandacostylis, rhyncostylis and other combinations of vandas. I would appreciate any advice on how to care for these in my S.E. FL USA climate. Thanks.
Hey Danny I recently bought my first Vanda orchid and have it hanging bare rooted near my southern window. But sadly my room is very dry so it seems after watering the roots dry up very quickly. Is it possible to water it more than twice a day ?, or will this drown my Vanda on the long run. Love your content.
My dendrobium nobile is starting to brown it's canes underneath each leaf, it stopped producing roots, allthough it produced and matured 5 canes in the last 4 months. Should the leaves peal like dried sheaths (cause they do)? Is something wrong with it? If yes, what do I do about it? P.S. I love you're videos! Keep up the good works!!❤
Exciting plants. Pretty sure I cannot grow them in my climate and definitely they won’t be outside here. My ? Is off topic ow do you feel about EOs Essential Oils. I like to run a diffuser for a multitude of reasons and apply it to my skin. Have Any difficulty with being the oil’s going around the orchid plants I’d be interested to know your

Hi, I live in Cyprus :) when I say hot I mean Las Vegas hot 🤭
My Heat Tolerant Cymbidium hybrids, Grammatophylums and coelogyn nitida grows in full sub tropical sunlight and they do excellently.
Do you think I would have luck growing outdoors in Phoenix AZ? we have the heat but it may be too hot and dry during summer.
@@hgray7917 probably not if it's too hot and dry, here it is sweltering humid.
GREAT video Danny!
Thank you 🙏🏻

How can I send you a photo for identification of my orchid that is very very happy in full sun in BOTSWANA.

Why u changed your cattleya and dendrobium from lecca to bark??
Hi Danny. Love your videos.. I noticed that your vanda's have black spots.. Mine has that too, is this normal and if not how do I treat it
I love your Your Tube site! Where are you located?

I'm having some issues with my mini phal and one of its spikes cant figure it out.
Hi Dany, thanks for this video! Can I ask you about the little bags hanging with the vandas? is that osmocote?
Hi, there is a video explaining it in the description :)
@@MissOrchidGirl Thanks! I've missed that one!
