Deliveries were meant to start early 2020, but Covid delayed customers getting their car. If deliveries started early 2020, the change to 6 cylinder diesel would not seem like such a big deal. For a vehicle of this size / weight etc, the higher torque out of the 6 cylinder diesel is much more appropriate for this vehicle.
I feel uk reviewers are being paid by Land Rover to say only good things about this defender. No African or Australian will buy it for off-roading simply due to few dealerships and the complexity. Off-road means u must be able to fix it on your own. This u can’t fix on your own. The wheels are awful for off-roading. The steel ones are just good enough
This car should be the Discovery, not the Defender. The Defender was a working vehicle that I think has been lost on this model. I will probably end up with another pickup for work.
Grenadier dear They' moved quite far away Too big a wheel base My 14yr old son calls it an ikea on steroids Had to laugh at that analogy ,at least appearance wise might have its twin look Otherwise not a serious off road machine
Defender in name only. Infact this is purely marketing. It is in reality a Discovery. Nobody will spend £50,000 upwards and truly use it as a hard core off-roader. Certainly it’s not a farm vehicle. Too big, too heavy, too premium. It’s become a victim of too many cooks in the kitchen to really be the spiritual successor to the Defender. However it’s styling is very strong, it has a confident appearance, and in silver quite a modern aesthetic. Defender it isn’t, but desirable it is. If only they would get rid of today’s horrendously ugly, ill proportioned Discovery, and replace it with this. Then leave some space in the line up for a true Defender..... just a thought.
I'll buy an old defender on a heart beat... cant see a reason to buy the new one though. Yes it looks kind a nice, but it is just another posh coffee urban vehicle, cant imagine someone crossing a desert with one of these.

If they spent as much on making it a useful car as they did trying to convince people it was half decent maybe they would get somewhere. Won't be touching it with a bargepole
Looks really like a skoda yeti
Bit pricy , I specked one up on the website for fun and got it to over £100000
Great review. I prefer this new version of the Defender. Though I have read many times the LR reliability is still pretty poor, which is a real shame.
Facts or hearsay form trolls?
@@ChurchDenton Form is spelt 'from' by the way
ruclips.net/video/V_A_HtBr1Ws/видео.html - TFL are into their third new Defender as other 2 have engine issues!
2020 What Car? Reliability Survey: Land rover placed at the bottom of the table. . Nice looking 4X4's. Brilliant off-road, just not reliable. Google Land rover reliability yourself?
Defender looks great . Wonder why they are replacing the 240 engine so soon after launch 🚀
Probably for those people who want to tow more and they might just be better engines anyway.
Apparently there were lots of issues with the 2.0ltr engine from owners, not surprisingly given the size/weight of the car
@@mateenio2186 well a big car needs a big engine, except from the Chiron which is quite small with a beefy engine.
I like your jacket.
I think it should have been given the Freelander name, not Defender.
There is actually an even smaller version of this car coming out around 2022. Now that car should be called the Freelander.
accept that 110 is really a 120 wheelbase now....
It will look great parked at the side of the road waiting for the AA man to turn up.
This car should be the Discovery, not the Defender. The Defender was a working vehicle that I think has been lost on this model. I will probably end up with another pickup for work.
Grenadier dear
They' moved quite far away
Too big a wheel base
My 14yr old son calls it an ikea on steroids
Had to laugh at that analogy ,at least appearance wise might have its twin look
Otherwise not a serious off road machine
From a number of owners videos, they don’t appear to be very reliable 😬
I think that's mainly the p300 because that thing has like 300hp from a small 2l engine with 4 cylinders.
5'4" and half. .....ahhh bless.
she doesnt let you forget that fact, even from the Carbuyer days
The design is so weird / unique
Is that a positive ?
@@neilrafferty2097 i think good as it may grow on people, it’s definitely innovative
Charming indeed ❤️
this is not a review... this is an ad for the defender. LOL
Its huge...and plush
This isn’t a Defender replacement it’s using the famous name for another Chelsea tractor
I'll buy an old defender on a heart beat... cant see a reason to buy the new one though.
Yes it looks kind a nice, but it is just another posh coffee urban vehicle, cant imagine someone crossing a desert with one of these.
What I see there is consumption and emissions. There, dear heart, is a dinosaur.
Dinosaurs were and still are (birds) useful, this SUV however is pointless.
great more please
Crying in the corner. Have hopes put on the Ineos Grenadier
Lovely Jubbly video, but no where near as good as your enthusiasm.
It’s a great off-reader - but no defender…..
Why does she wave her hands about so much? - it is like using semaphore, very irritating.
lol
