Hey folks, quick update, when the JLR man came to collect the Defender from me, I tried to claim it as mine but he wasn’t having any of it. I told him I’d named it ‘Defender Dave’ and he still wouldn’t let me keep it.
So I can officially say.....it’s not mine and I’m gutted about it. I miss it every day.

I own one since Dec 20. Same model as this. Have taken it to some pretty hairy places as well as doing a 9 hour drive last weekend after getting flooded in. Love it love love it

Many are complaining on how it looks but some people just don't like change. I think it's ridiculous that people are moaning about it's off-road capabilities. Reliable it isn't but this is one awesome car and very handsome to 👍

A good review, nicely balanced and informative without being too long. Kind of the way Carwow used to be, before it became a drag racing channel. I like this new Defender, not sure why it attracts so much hate from traditionalists and car reliability perverts. For the people in the market for a new £50-80k SUV to transport their family, dogs etc, I think this brings something different and I won’t be surprised if it is a success for LR. 👍👌

I picked up my 2021 Defender 110 S P300 last month. I’m really happy with it!
Safety tech should NOT be something that can be upgraded.. IMO if a car manufacturer has it available in one spec - it should be standard in all specs.
Love the review. Carbuyer stepping up and showing how reviews should be done. Other channels (carwow) have become very biased and less informative. Keep up the great work 👍
I gotta tell u, u kinda got a point. Recently I have realised Carwow is just not that good at reviewing cheap cars or Korean/Japanese cars. Also, there is just too much advertising. But Carwow, I think are very entertaining and unique and they just post so much. So there's definitely good arguments either way.

@Andrew honestly they do. For example, osv just posted a video of Mazda 3 sedan. I does happen
LR's are excellent offroading when getting lifted inside a repair shop

An okay review.
1) Sadly you keep describing the car as big. It is not, a Ford Mondeo and a Vauxhall Insignia are longer. A big car is a Bentley Sedan etc.
2) You describe it as maybe hard to park, a doddle with the camera system with the one in our family.
However, you are entertaining and have personality.
It's as reliable as the UK weather
That's quite reliable actually because we get plenty of rain 🌧️ and we get a bit of sunshine or at least enough for crops to be grown and we don't get massive earthquakes or anything like that so technically your saying that the new defender is reliable 😁

Many people are moaning about the rugged boxy shape, the off road looks, lacklustre bumpers and endless cliches. But come on guys give her chance.

I would love to hear from just one buyer who has had one of these for a full year to say that their new defender has never had to go back to the dealer to get faults corrected. These vehicles should be among some of the cheapest 4x4's you can buy.
972 litres of boot space, not 1000 litres in the Defender 110 with the 5 seats up
Ok they may not be the most reliable brand however most big named brands actually aren't if u look in to them. Yet can't be that unreliable Wen they are everywhere around the world,( and not on the back of lorries before some smart guy makes the joke) including emergency services and search and rescue. Not just the defender but Range rover and most of their models too. If they were as bad as some folks like to make out then they would not sell at all, especially for the price they sell for. In some areas they are way above other brands and their capabilities. Had mine now 3yrs no issues wat so ever and I know plenty of folks that have this brand and only have the same issues as u get with any make or model. I am pretty sure we didn't buy the only land rover/ range rovers that arent problematic. Can't wait to get my 90 model next year.
I want a defender so bad, but why is something like keyless entry or power seats not available in the base models? If Land Rover wanted to gain the trust if the public, couldn’t they include such pedestrian features?

At around the same price as the awful, pushme/pullu, moonbuggy Discovery, the new Defender has surely got to be the best choice. Until the Grenadier comes along.

Bigger farmers will just call out land rover to fix it but smaller farmers that aren't millionaires will probably be looking at something other than the defender.

@@ridge9246 ye most around me have l200, Hilux and some even Navara and d-max but there is one farm near me that has like 5 range rovers and a jaguar SVR so don't know what that's about.
It’s just another Fancy suv then I cannot see traditional owners of the Land Rover defender wanting this . To many fancy gimmicks and farmers will not want this on there muddy fields . The original defender was a no nonsense work horse I cannot see this one being like that
Farmers all starting switching to small trucks years ago. You are out of date. You’re more likely to see a Hilux or Ranger on a farm nowadays.
