Pro tip: Add an aquarium UV light that runs 24/7. You wont have issues with algae or bacteria growing in the water reservoir anymore. I still clean my tub about every 2 months anyway to inspect things and remove any spore build up.
I use a vinyl dryer duct hose connected to my bucket using a 4" duct to wall connector. It works great. I like the idea of the float valve. I'm going to figure out how to do that at my location. Good stuff.
Great build Eric! I would add an overflow just in case the float valve sticks. A simple hole above the water line with a hose that leads outside for drainage.
Made one of these myself for my farm and it works super good in my first fruiting room (20 ft wide by 60 ft long). I got a rectangle 12 head humidifier instead of circle, a controller for the inline fan and use the Inkbird humidity controller, 10 to 15 minutes will 99% my room. I did plumb a float valve into mine so I don't have to fill it as well.
That's a sweet set up. The toilet flange is called a "closet flange". There is also a fixture called a "bulkhead fitting". Bulkhead fittings are more expensive though.
thanks. yea Im familiar with bulkhead fittings, since this isn't a sealed fitting the closet flange is all you really need if you want to pipe it out. my current setup just has a small 3" hole where the mist shoots out of.

If you buy the flotation device for the disk you can have a tote with a much larger water volume. It would eliminate the need for the water heater because the heat from the humidifier will heat the water up if it isnt constantly being replaced with new cold water.
@@charliethesparrow880 hmm. I wonder why mine does. I notice it especially at night mine makes so much fog that you cant see your hand in front of your face.

If i have a martha tent and am to make this then add a hepa filter exhaust fan, where is the right area to position the exhaust fan? Hi up the tent, middle or bottom area?
Yes but then your fan will be filled with spores and humidity. It will lead to shorter lifespan of your fan. If you attach a duct to your air intake and then put the other end out of the chamber, that would be a lot better.
Thanks! I recently purchased from HoH a 3 disk maker, 80 mm fan, and humidistat and plan to make a setup like this. Any recommendations on how big of a fruiting chamber I could supply with this? 25-50 sq/ft?
I am building a smaller version for my indoor mini greenhouse using a bucket like you mentioned. Unless my math is off, I figured my greenhouse to be around 18 cubic feet in volume. What size sonicator head (number of discs) should I purchase? I've done a fare bit of searching trying to determine this so anyone with any insight would be greatly appreciated. Also, would using distilled water make the ceramic discs last longer? We have super hard water where I live and it crusts up everything it touches.
I have a similar setup to yours. I have 3 sonic discs for about 19 cubic feet and that works pretty well. I'm not sure about distilled water but I imagine it would help.
Overhaul the whole unit? Rebuild the whole unit? Huh? Why not find a quality bin, a quality float valve, and use RO water if you have it (really helps with the mineral build-up, will prolong the life of the discs as well). This is nothing compared to the benefits of out performing any other RH option, besides perhaps a pressurized sprayer system.
