If they are really going to cast her, at least make it some sort of satire on snow white as her usual character and make fun of the movie as it’s ideas and customs are outdated. Honestly, the idea for this snow white would be GREAT as satire and everybody wins. Rachel zegler would enjoy mocking snow white and how dumb the original was. Disney can make bank here. And the audience would actually have a good laugh and twist on a classic

the missed opportunities make my imagination go wild with what could have been. I'm even going as far as doing my sequel trilogy rewrite.
what really ticked me off is how they cancelled a perfectly good show? because yes sequels are horrible but clone wars at that point was really good in my opinion, and then they had to buy lucasfilm right as the show was getting ready to build up to revenge of the sith. this also ended up cutting off possibly one of the best arcs dark disciple, which is now a book but if it was in clone wars it would have hit harder imo. and yes, while clone wars did end up getting finished, there was supposed to be 8 seasons from what ive heard from some other sources. few things im happy about with disney taking over lucasfilm would probably be rogue one, rebels, andor and tcw s7. could include bad batch as well but i really dont like season 1 so 👍

Tbh Onward, Soul, and Turning Red flopping wasn’t really Disney’s fault. These movies were released during the height of the pandemic, which was when nobody was going to the movie theater, so these movies started releasing on Disney+ really quickly.
onward and soul i understand but turning red was released to disney+ well after encanto went to cinemas and well after most lockdowns finished (in Melbourne our last lockdown was october 2021) and then pixar's return to cinemas was only 3 months later with lightyear, so no turning red should've gone to cinemas

The Little Mermaid actually still underperformed it needed to make 560 million just to break even and as of right now it's only made 569 million. Compared to other live action remakes from the Disney Renaissance that made billions like Bueaty & The Beast, Aladdin & Lion King that makes The Little Mermaids performance look worse. It didn't bomb as hard as Mulan or even other films released this year but The Little Mermaid still wasn't a smash hit.

And it’s quite the copout to just say they weren’t made by gay people. Doesn’t change the fact that it’s over represented, a film shouldn’t get criticized for not having a gay relationship, shouldn’t have investors pulling out for that either. When you force “representation” it’ll always be bad. All that stuff needs to come naturally. It really sucks when your group gets thrown to the wolves for representation that’s not appealing at all. As someone who read the Hugo novel, Esmeralda is supposed to be stunning to explain why Frollo (initially a bit more virtuous than his movie counterpart) would only now start playing a lust-crazed fool in his old age.
If anything, Disney were pulling their punches, because in the book, she was little more than a teenager, maybe just clocking in at 19 or 20 if memory serves.
No, it is not that Disney has become too political. It's that it's become too corporate. This PC mediocrity is a direct result of corporate culture and executives meddling with creative projects they have no business in touching. I personally think Disney had no choice, if they gone the non-inclusive way, the monopoly of investors (blackrock) would've just pulled out, causing the company to go downhill, now if they went inclusive, making gay couples and race swapped characters, that would've led to the conservatives to start making new laws and boycotts, causing the company to go downhill. Holes was pretty lit in 4th grade. We had to read the book over the course of a week and do projects about each chapter. That kinda sucked.

You could not go through at least 2 or 3 days or maybe a week without seeing some little girl wearing an elsa outfit and singing let it go. The popularity in the box office are from newer viewers who liked the aspects of the newer movies that completely overshadowed what made the original films so great.
Anyways ignoring this entire video and the entire slew of cucks in the comments thinking representation is the problem let me tell you what’s _actually_ wrong with Disney: quality and marketing.
I want you to name a single project based off of a pre-made popular IP that Disney made which was actually good. You can’t right? Now name a single original project that Disney made that was marketed correctly. You can’t do that one either. The problem is Disney, much like many other studios unfortunately, are relying heavily on popular IP’s because they don’t have original ideas, and when an original idea comes up they try their absolute hardest not to put it out there or even do it correctly. The Little Mermaid didn’t fail because it had black Ariel, the actress was phenomenal, it failed because nobody wants to see a live action adaptation of something we already saw in the superior animated form. Marvel is much the same, they don’t even try with most of the movies anymore and rely on the fact that it’s Marvel and that’s enough. Strange World was a pleasant watch, and Elemental is by far one of Disney’s most inventive romance stories and deserves the comeback it had. The reason one flopped and the other almost flopped? Disney didn’t market it. No one even _knew_ Strange World was coming out, and Elemental was marketed horribly spearheaded by a character that only appeared once or twice in the whole movie. Disney just hates original ideas for some inexplicable reason and tries leaning on “the good ol’ days” for profit, not to mention the use of awful AI in their recent Star Wars shows and Secret Invasion to make a quick buck. Hell, animation, which imo is the clear superior art form to live action in Disney’s case, is essentially deceased in their movie catalog. For every good animated film there’s about 10 awful live action ones, it’s depressing to see a great animation studio turn to green screens and treadmills.

After seeing this video, this is facts here, I was watching rise of Skywalker and it had mixed everything critics didn't agree but the audience seems to enjoy, and in 2022 causing trouble in Pixar, lightyear was a biggest failure from its box office and negative imdb reviews and the 3 strikes your out from putting Pixar in Disney+
The rise of Skywalker was better than the last Jedi, but it was mid. The thing with the sequels is that they didn't have really memorable moments compared to Luke blowing up the death star, order 66, the sarlac pit, darth vader revealing that he was Luke's fauther, etc.

There are only three films I watched and vowed never to watch again because they made teenage me cry too hard; Neverending Story, The Miracle of Marcelino, and Bridge to Tarabithia. To this day, I have not re-watched those films.
Our priest lent us a copy of Holes(the book) before school could show us the film, so I was the only one in class who had read it and was pleasantly surprised to discover the film existed, since I like the book. That was a good day for me.

I guess I was the only one who liked onward. I didn’t think much about the officer scene and it wasn’t until the later films like strange world where I thought they getting bad.
Man, I remember watching Strange World on Disney+ last year and was fighting to not go to sleep. Movie was pure nyquil, I almost fell asleep trying to watch it. However when I went to the cinema to see Puss In Boots The Last Wish, that movie kept me awake the entire time and never gets boring with each re-watch(Hell, I'mma watch again this weekend).

The message was great, puss really got redeemed in the movie, the animation looked great, every character was likeable, and all the villians were incredible! Especially death. As a Star Wars fan here before Disney trilogy we had a lot of very promising games on the way and Disney proceeded to never use the game team of Lucas films and instead gave the right for games to EA and to this day i wonder why.
EA money printer go brrr. On a more serious note, EA is everything wrong with modern gaming, reskin the same games, engine and all, and sell for full price yearly. The stockholders probably had a part in the decision, why make a high quality game when you can spam low quality games with 10x less effort and make 10x profit?

Ever since the new law got passed here in Florida my teachers have to tell us "the movies we will be watching through the course of this year will not feature any sort of discussion of lgbtq+" and even had to send a sheet home before every movie saying stuff like that it's crazy 💀when someone asked why the teacher said they had to tell this to the students or else they'd get in trouble (???)

I havent watched the video yet but my take is that tbey moreso suck in the fact that they're barely trying new stuff, actively snuffing out studio projects and producing the most bland stuff with exceptions like encanto etc. They barely want to do anything new or go back to their roots, anything that deviates from the status quo of Disney today is snuffed out. Put in the least amount of effort with movies and cartoons now since they making money from marvel and their parks they dont wanna take a risk with anything. The "political" part is like 10-30 percent of the issue at hand

Remaking all your animated movies into live-action and changing the characters (Belle and Mulan) was not a good idea! Rejecting 2D as well! It would be fun to see stories who hasn't been adapted, some for others countries like Russia or Italy; Spain, Romania etc. I would love to see a Befana movie in 2D 🥰Maybe she could find an orphan and adopted him, has to fight a villain who captures naugthy kids with her child. A cute message about family, some calm moments between Befana and her son| daughter would be adorable, classic music. Sounds like a fun film!
honestly, the snow white live-action movie is the purist, distilled form of everything wrong with Disney and why they keep failing the way they do. Just if you want to point at something that just embodies everything currently wrong with disney, just look at that remake and you'll get your answers.
