New saltx rod is awesome 2-6 moderate action Heavy , overall great rod especially for the canal you can plug light and also use 5oz savage .... Pretty much will accommodate anything in your tackle bag

looking to go during the fall run. any suggestions for a new pole?
Nice! I use a Penn Fierce combo 10 ft rod and 8000 size reel which is pretty bottom of the line but I love it and gets the job done. Only about $120
i’ve got an 11’ st croix mojo it puts a dent in your wallet but well worth. i might have to try the penn fierce though i’ve heard good things about it
